Basic outline I have for the game so far is; for one reason or another, your characters are working for House Ianto guarding a caravan traveling from Balic to Tyr. The Caravan has just left Balic and is heading up to South Ledopolus with a side trip across the Forked Tounge to North Ledopolus.
House rules;
I will be using the fumbling breakage rule
I will not be using fixed enhancement bonuses
Every one gets one random Psi power from the DS book.
Any character background is ok as long as you have a reason to be working as a guard for a caravan.
Races allowed;
Human
Elf
Half-Elf
Dwarf
Mul
Thri-Kreen
Half-Giant
Tiefling
Caravan notes;
House Ianto caravan persons of note:
Caravan master – Qaqalil
Captain of the guards – Chajaj
Chajaj’s Lieutenants;
Gahnin
Kaconl
Chajelja
Qaqaqa
Melokot drivers;
Kachich
Kachal
Ajaj
Namelja
Merchants;
Azojich - weapons
Izlalix - food stuffs
Tsenek - Cloth/Jewelry
Etzlim - hardware
Each merchant has 3-4 assistants working for them.
The caravan is composed of 64 people, 4 melekots and assorted other animals. The caravan resembles a traveling village more than it does a convoy of wagons.
When traveling each melekot and wagon travel about 1/2 hour apart from each other to prevent the dust from choking the following caravan and causing too much damage to the landscape. Riders constantly travel between the melekots to maintain communication.
At the start of the game the caravan has just left Balic and has begun its yearlong route from Balic up to Draj with many side trips throughout the tablelands. First stop South Ledopolus with a side trip across the Forked Tounge to North Ledopolus.
The caravan will fix or replace any weapons broken in combat.
The caravan personel have the same hatred for arcane magic as your average Athasian has.

Hey all, as I have said already on the recruitment thread, I will probably go rogue, in any case definately some form of melee striker I have decided. If Radavel goes for a fighter then that leaves me pretty much free to build what I want.
Also, yeah, I can easily see my guy being a caravan guard to be honest. Im planning on playing an ex noble of some description, ran away fairly young when he learned a little too much about a few things (still working on the exact details) and I'm probably guarding the caravan because one. I have to make a living somehow, and two. It's a nice cover for who I really am.

So, is everything in CB authorized (restriction on Divine classes still stands)? The story for Tieflings is by the DS book?
My roll for wild talent 1d10
result: Mental Tools
I only have the old CB so please note if your using anything from the essentials line so I can check it out and make a judgment on it.
Same restrictions on divine classes as DS core book.

Irivis |

Irivis isn't done, but she is on her way and will be complete tomorrow.
Like Tirshok she was a revolutionary, but unlike him, lost her nerve and fled before Kalak's overthrow. She's not exactly proud of that and somehow feels she needs to make up for her earlier failure. Irivis is obsessional about the perils of the Athasian sun, so always covers her head and face as much as possible. Lame from birth, she uses a rod to help her walk - or so she says.
She's been with the caravan for a while and feels fairly at home there. She pretends that her powers are psionic and that is at least partly true.

Yeah, I went gladiator, I know it's a defender theme, but it seems so good for rogues as well, anyway I dont see the problem with 2 gladiators.
I don't really intend to explore the theme that far anyway - Tirshok's got enough on his plate being a striker/healer without having to try out a bit of defender too.
As for your character, Rad - just don't tell us. Ooops!

Arakan |

Arakan is finished. He hides his power as Primal, and his heritage as Human. Yes, Rada, based on my history, I would be very worried about secret police.
Bluff disguise 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
I had a question for the GM. As a Bard I get ritual caster and 2 rituals, one must be bardic. Well, I swapped my ritual caster for Alchemist, but I still only get 1 and one bardic, but there are no bardic alchemy.
So, the question is, do I get 1 bard ritual and 1 recipe, or 1 recipe and no bonus bardic (since I don't have rituals), or can I swap my bardic ritual for another recipe?
EDIT: Whew, glad I rolled decent. Um, is there a way to bookmark when certain threads get updated?

Mordencranst |

Well, it appears that my PC is toast if any of you guys find out that he's with the Balican Secret Police LOL
On a related note, it appears that at least three of us are from balic, and we are all hiding things from each other.
Yeah, this is not going to be tense in any way.....

Irivis |

Irivis is up.
Aardvark, if you post on this thread with your main avatar, rather than Arakan's, you should find a useful dot appearing next to the thread when you open the forum. Click on "focus" at the top of the page and threads you have posted on with your main avatar should appear.
Non primary avatars take longer to get this treatment, so on game threads I make my first post as Rev Rosey. Then I go straight back into the thread and edit the post to the character avatar. This seems to be a workable bypass.

Arakan |

Thank You, Rosey. I'll give it a try.
I like your layout for powers on your character sheet. I think I will make mine that way. I was wondering how xactly we would work it. That seems decent, without having to write the whole thing out or expect the GM to look up the powers.

Arakan |

For PbP is there any particular expectations based on text used for which context? Like Italics for IC speech, Bold for OOC, blue for die rolls?
And speaking of blue, how do you cange the text colors?
On a character note, though, while on the caravan Arakan has his crossbow in hand with the idea that he'll get at least one shot off before anything closes to melee.

Rev Rosey |

Generally, use italics for thoughts and ooc blue for out of character stuff.
Bold is a matter of preference and down to Xal.
Basically, square bracket ooc square bracket to start blue text. Square bracket /ooc square bracket to end it. Bold and italic are just b /b or i /i in the square brackets.
Dice rolling works the same way. This is a die roll (and if I waste a crit on a demo I'll be unhappy) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14.
Spoilers also work exactly the same way, using "spoiler" inside square brackets.
If you open up the tag at the bottom of the page where you make your posts, there's a whole list of BBCode tags you can use.
If you open up "reply" to this post, you'll see exactly what I mean, better than I've described it above.

Arakan |

Okay, thank you (once again), I had used all the other ones except the /ooc (have most of them in my character's profile) . I see it in the codes, I just didn't realize it was what turned the font blue.
