It has some kind of spreadsheet functionality. Tordek has a sheet for our XP. (Don't know if you'll be able to see that, not being part of the group.
I love using Obsidian Portal. I just wish I had more time to use all of its features more. I'm not sure how easy it is to embed spreadsheets into it or even if it's possible. However, that would make a great feature request. And OP responds very well to feature requests.
I created the XP table using the textile (like bbcode) formatting tools. One Obsidian Portal member did a page full of examples of formatting that you can copy and adapt to your own campaign. Follow this link to see it.
Most of the tools you can use for free, the main feature that led me to purchase paid membership is the forum feature. It allows us to communicate via our own dedicated bulletin board. That has been invaluable.
I'll email you some examples of my rudimentary templates to get you started.

I am a happy camper right now. My music library has been restored and I got the majority of my files back. I lost a few photos and documents and I know I'm still missing a few bookmarks, but overall I didn't really lose that much. Pretty good considering that my old computer melted inside and my external hard drive malfunctioned. :)
So now the new computer is all set. Yay! And just to be on the safe side I got one of those cooling stand thingies. Cause I do NOT want to go through this again.
Glad to hear that, lynora. I don't know how you got through this so gracefully, i would have sacrificed a great many techs in frustration -externals aren't supposed to die like that.

I swear one day, for a short game, with experienced gamers, I will put the races and classes in hats. Pull out of hat A, awe looks like your a gnome or dwarf. Pull out hat b, your a witch.
I know it would not last long but damnit people need to get outside of comfort zones every once in a while.
Actually did that at Paizocon two years ago. Tom "Majuba" McQueen ran a game (actually the last unofficial game at the con: 9:00 PM Sunday to 2:00 AM Monday) for me, his wife, Blazej, and Steve Durtschi. EVERYTHING was randomly rolled, including race, class, alignment, ability scores (using 3d6 in order), names, even random gear and encounters. Everything was out of the Core Rulebook, GameMastery Guide, and Dragon Compendium. It was some of the most fun I've ever had in my ten years of gaming.

Closest I've allowed to psionics is..... well.... yeah I got nothin'.
Okay maybe not entirely true, I chalk innate magic powers to psionic power sometimes.
My regular GM drew up new psionics rules (only usable by the Monk character class in place of FoB), and I seem to prefer that to anything that's been published. It's all stripped-down and streamlined-like.

They should have called that movie: Hey I just came up with a kewl movie idear while smoking some killer kush behind the school dumpster after my Filmmaking 101 class! Lets take the Blair Witch Project format, make it an exorcism instead of a spooky witch, throw in a lot of boring dialog and grainy 'reality' type film shots and have an ending guaranteed to solve nothing and piss off all the moviegoers! My dad's a Hollywood producer, I can totally con him into financing it!
But I guess that wouldn't have fit on to most movie marquees =P

If you have to ask, it probably is.

I would, but I like you too much.

Puffin's head is still under his wing this morning. He'll be along after noon or so, I'm sure.
Does anybody use Obsidian Portal for their campaign repository? Do you like it? I've signed up for their no-pay membership, but the payfer looks a lot sweeter. It can keep maps and such. BUT, I don't see that it can hold documents. So.... is it worth it?
Not too bad, I have used it before.

We're putting together some Ikea furniture. We decided we ought to have a dining table when company comes - eating a tray tables just isn't classy.
Ikea furniture kicks ass. Relatively decent, not to expensive. My 10 year old dining room table is from Ikea, and still in great shape. I've got a bunch of their bookcases as well, and the dresser in my bedroom. I've also got two other kitchen table/shelves from Ikea.

I made me an Osirion Catfolk (Osirion is basically Egypt. Egypt. Anthropomorphic Cats. Makes perfect sense thematically.). She's a 9th level Magus with the Skirnir archetype (meaning she focuses on shields, not an empty off hand), and she's got a breastplate, heavy wooden shield, and battle axe as her main equipment. She is going to be so much fun to play. We already have some battlefield control magic in the party, so I skipped those spells and went for self buffing (to make me deadlier in melee), direct damage (to dish out the pain), and a couple debuffs (to make enemies easier to kill). She's going to be so much fun to play. I can tell.

Rolling up characters is fun. Lots of times, I roll up characters I have no intention of using. In fact, I roll up hypothetical characters more than characters I plan to use.
Maybe I'll start up a database. Keeping the stat blocks for these hypothetical characters around for future use could be useful. Could cut down prep time.
My Osirion Catfolk, however, is going to be used.

Hello FAWTLies! Hope you are all well.
I’m about halfway through catching up on the 1000+ posts I missed being offline most of last week ... not sure if I will get through them all, we’ll see. Let me know if I’ve missed anything crucial.
First day back at work after two weeks off ... and man do I need a holiday after that ‘holiday’. Trying to fit a year’s worth of projects, clean ups, organising, catch ups and quality family time into two weeks after a too – busy year doesn’t really work.

Ah. In that case CJ's suggestion of kicking him in the ding dings sounds about right. One thing I cannot stand is a habitual tardy person. They fnck everyone's day up
I hate being late, even to work, but I was late at least half the time last year. My son’s damned preschool didn’t allow you to drop off until 9.00am (or sometimes 9.05 or 9.10 ... if the teacher was late).

My once-every-two-months game's today, better go refresh my memory and see what a 9th-level paladin gets.
Apparently, the ability to kick devil ass!.
Lord Pelindyr, the Knight-in-Black, rolls damage: Um, let's see, a 1 and a 2? Let's see, add strength, power attack, magic weapon, and, oh yeah, SMITE EVIL! That's uh, that's 32 points of damage. Ignoring DR. Oh, he's still up?
Repeat.

Morning folks. Heading to work. Had a great time last night as we invited a friend over to help us eat some of Mrs. Freehold's OVERSTUFFED LASAGNA(tm), and she brought over some wine. Knocked my wife out cold, I was quite asleep after a while myself. A bit headachy now, but I gotta go to the salt mines. Looking forward to next week, I can tell you that...
