I was up 4:15 am today because I hadn't went to bed yet, at that time.

On the other hand, I was up again not quite long past 10 am... *yawn*

It is much warmer today!

Which might explain my headache yesterday...

I'll start off with "I'm ok." Bit of neck pain and a headache this morning from the impromptu isometric exercise, but nothing serious.

Got in a car accident last night. I was turning left onto an interstate on-ramp and got t-boned. Cop on the scene said his mother was in an identical accident at the same intersection two weeks ago.

My wonderful little car...that has all of 6200 miles on it...needs new passenger side doors. Possibly a front fender. Side airbags deployed.

The other driver also walked away with no injuries.

Glad you're all alright!

Ditto that!

WOwsers, always RIGHT before Christams huh? ;P

Fudgabout the damage. As long as your OK that's what important. :)

Happy Holidays!

EDIT- On a side note, I have noticed more than usual of these exact types of accidents around where I live the last couple of weeks.
I have seen more the closer we get to the holidays.

Coincidence? I think Not! O_o

Drive safe everyone! and Happy Holidays! :D

This time last year I was terrified about paying bills, and making rent, and such. We had one part time job between the two of us, just moved to Ohio, and had little support.

One FaWtLer suggested I put up a GoFundMe. I was embarassed, but I did...and the generosity of friends here got me through a few months that otherwise I wouldn't have made it through.

This year we are tight, but not behind. But I still remember your kindness, friends. I never will forget it.

May whatever higher power you acknowledge bless you, and may my atheist friends have an abundance of luck, and may your holidays, whatever they are, be filled with joy.

I think it's definitely the season...

...yesterday as I was teaching Impus Major to drive the Celica, a driver blew through a Stop sign at a 4-way stop and would have T-boned Impus Major if he weren't so slow with the clutch still...

...this morning after dropping off GothBard at the bus stop I saw not one but TWO cars do right turns at full speed through traffic control devices (one Stop sign, one red light)...

My belief is that people are getting stressed out about the upcoming holidays and their HUGE To-Do lists, and are trying to shave seconds wherever they can. The fact that they're putting other people's lives in danger through their carelessness doesn't even occur to them.

EDIT: And for all the infamy of the "California Stop", it's really not that big of a deal in general: If you are approaching a fully-controlled intersection and you have clear visibility, and there are no other cars around, then you can roll through the Stop sign at up to 5 mph. The problem is that people get so accustomed to doing it that they start violating the "rules" -- going too fast, trying it when other cars or pedestrians are around, etc., and you end up with collisions.

Last night at the comic shop, I found a hardbound compendium of the first six Asterix books, used. There was no price, and the original price was in Pounds, SK the guy offered it to me for seven bucks, which I couldn't pass up. I turned around and gave it to Teensy Valeros right there. Made him very happy.

The other driver was leaving work and heading to the babysitter's. I was on my way to Zelda's for dinner and Star Wars.

I was taking a route I hadn't used in a couple years. I should have just been smart and gone on the back roads like I normally do, but I was figuring on those roads being somewhat dodgy from the weather.

I should have trusted my driving skills to handle the less occupied, dodgier roads.

Sadly the only conditions (and actions) we can control are our own. ;P

tis definitely the season! ;P Oi Vay! ;)

As I mentioned previously, (on one these threads) I highly recommend the 'Drive a company vehicle with alogo, so people will try to hit you on purpose!' drivers education course. You learn to dodge stupid people REAL quick! Best defensive driving course ever. ;)

OR you can always go my dear departed friend's route.
HIS theory regarding defensive driving was "the best Defense is a good OFFENSE!"

Got presents in the mail for Ebon's daughters today. Should arrive on Tuesday. Cutting it close, yeah, but between waiting for Amazon shipments to arrive and having to squeeze shopping trips around work and other scheduled things was really the first chance I got.

One present left to buy for the nephew and one for coworker for Secret Santa, then done. Doing all that tomorrow morning.

OK. I didn't think the kids could pull this off at all, so I'm impressed.

(1) Thursday night, Impus Minor informed us that today was the choir's annual White Elephant gifting, so he had to put together a present.

(2) After he and his friends put together a truly appalling box of crap, including a Kids' Bop CD, Impus Minor opined that he should just put Impus Major in the box, and an argument ensued over whether Impus Major would fit.

(3) Because Shiro, I just happened to have a brand new ("portable" = 75 lbs? Damn you, Shiro!) table saw in its box, so we quickly removed the table saw and determined that Impus Major could comfortably sit in the box for an extended period.

(4) In the morning, with the choir teacher's permission, the kids put the box in the choir room.

(5) Over lunch, Impus Major somehow managed to sneak back to school, climb into the box, and wait there, Kids' Bop CD in hand.

(6) After 45 minutes someone picked the box, and out tumbled Impus Major with the Kids' Bop CD in hand.

I saw the video. It was... amazing...

45 minutes in a box while avoiding movement that would attract attention? Had he some pillow/padding to lay on at least?

Freehold is in charge of the artillery? Does that make him the thread General or Regent? I always saw him as the Warden for some reason.

I have been playing far too much Kingmaker since the DLC went on sale and I bought the season pass.

All I know is Tac is the High Priest and Orthos the Magister, and Limey most likely seems like the Royal Assassin, because of his mastery of weaponry.

I'm clearly thinking too much about this.
