I like pumpkin soup. Pumpkin in coffee is just weird to me. I tried running in Phoenix just for science but I found that the dry air made it rather hard for me to breathe(I get sniffles mighty quick) so I didn't get many wheres. I never have problems like that in SG.
To be fair, there's no actual pumpkin in it. It's a mixture of various spices that smells vaguely pumpkin-esque, and it may have other squashes, but there's almost always not real pumpkin.
Welcome to America. Where "natural flavoring" can be literally anything and companies get away with not labeling that stuff, because f~!~ health, we need to protect the secret chemicals of our corporate overlords.
Reminds me of a Dimitri Martin standup: "I read ingredients on a box and it said made with natural and artificial flavoring. Why not just say flavoring? I mean, is there a third kind of flavoring? Do we have supernatural flavoring?"

Today's episode? My pharmacy (again).
As I mentioned, the moment they had my phone number they took to robo-dialing me every single day to tell me to renew my prescription. To the point of a simple "Press 1 to automatically renew". When I started hanging up without even listening, the calls increased in frequency to 2-3 per day.
All this for a prescription I did not need renewed; I had the bottle to prove it.
So I ended up blocking the phone number of my pharmacy. That says something deep, dark, and stupid right there. "My pharmacy is so intrusive that I had to block their number."
They finally figured it out. Now I'm getting 2-3 e-mails a day, marked as "urgent", that I need to refill my prescription. That is still not even halfway used.
Considering the behavior of the U.S.'s newly-deregulated pharma industry (the deregulation was within the last 10 years, I believe), is it any wonder we're a nation of overmedicators?

Better that than being followed by a moonshadow.

Good lord. I gave them a quick reading check (5 questions about the book, each of which we'd discussed in class) worth a fraction of their usual homework assignments. You'd think I'd told them their entire grade hinged on it.
The kiddo does that too. I will usually just have him dictate the answers while I type when he brings those assignments home. He overthinks it when he has to write it down

I sincerely doubt NH meant any offense in expressing frustration with this system.

Scintillae wrote:Of course there's supernatural flavoring. How else do you explain Count Chocula and Boo Berry?you left out Franken berry and yummy mummy!
Boo Berry is the best. And unnatural as everything. That is all.
(Fun exercise: define "unnatural" and make sure that you can't exclude something as a byproduct of humanity that doesn't needlessly specify humanity without also excluding octopi, beavers, spiders, various great apes, birds, and, generally speaking, any other tool-user or environment-alteration specialist. I'm sure it's possible. But it's humorously difficult. And, "stuff made by things that sweat" doesn't work, either...)

...who the heck adds cinnamon into their coffee aka pumpkin spice?...
*Passes his hand-held Heresy-finder 2000 over a cup of cinnamon-coffee, which causes it to start squealing and screeching in high pitched tones*
By the Emperor! the heresy levels are through the roof!
*Unholsters his bolt pistole and blasts away at the cup of coffee*

Hi, everyone. Had a rotten weekend. Caught a cold Friday night. Sick all day Saturday. Sick all day Yesterday. Sick today, and tired. Got no sleep at all last night. Woke up every two minutes or so coughing up junk into the toilet. At least, I've got medicine with me today.
Heal up quick John!
*Send burly-man hugs and Scotch*
It’s weird making the school run again after missing it for two weeks while we were all down with the evil bad respiratory infection
Glad to hear that the family is getting back on your respective feet Lyn.
*Sends hugs to Lyn + family*
