So, how "well" is my house built?
One of my electric conduits wasn't long enough to go where I wanted it to go, so it should have been, "Crawl under the house, find the first junction box, add a 6' extension and a second junction box, re-staple the line, and you're good."
Instead I followed 50' of line around my garage, under my house, across the house, to... a box nailed to a piece of scrap wood that was precariously nailed in turn to one of the joists. WTF? Well, at least I'd found the box! Now, where did it go?
Out the other side were two knob-and-tube lines, that were very well-installed, and went... exactly back the way I came!!!!
Someone charged one of the former homeowners for crawling under the house, adding 20' of extra conduit so that their crappy-ass box work at the other end wasn't visible.
*SIGH*.
At least I have a heck of a length of conduit to work with. It just involves convincing 50+-year-old knob-and-tube to come out without disintegrating.
This could be easy, or could be Hell...
EDIT: Yeah, there are enough stray nails under the house to rip your clothes off...

I'd find that rather unlikely, but I'm also very careful not to come across as dogmatic in my posts (as much as possible). And I keep many of my most-critical beliefs very carefully-guarded.

Sometimes it's happened even when you think you're not making a political statement, or are actively trying to reach out and make peace between other folks.
(The majority of the folk were awesome in my particular case; I just apparently somehow said exactly the right thing to cheese someone right off while trying to help folks calm down with what I thought were reasoned words. Clearly, that is not how they came across, and I do feel badly about that. Also, quite a bit of that time came from a compounded mistake of me not actually understanding that my posts were being deleted - I thought there was a really weird technical error of some kind. Oops.)

Yeah, I'm afraid I'm old. I've been on the net since the dial-up BBS days. I'm under no illusion I'll ever convince anyone of anything. So I walk in, make my point, and shut up. Unless someone misconstrues my post, which is unfortunately common, at which point I'll post one clarification. Then I just give up.

Speaking of things I'd rather not bring up again, I'm sad that Kingmaker is, effectively, over.
Fare thee well, Minharath: the most intentionally OP character I am ever likely to play.
Lawful good.
Exceptionally honest in the most deceptive of ways, and tricky as a devil's contract and azata's vow, but a lot harder to break.
His magic allowed him to reach back over nine thousand years to wrench the dead from potential damnation, and help guide them to light.
Based on two different rulings of stacking things, and grandfathered 3.5 rulings; the most important being ioun stones.
He held powers of the mind, magic, and mysticism; was a devotee of Erastil, and a major proponent of civilization; founded many schools to generate enlightened learning, while cloaking many things in illusion and voiding the power of divination.
He treated (and warred) with nations, gods, and spirits of all kinds, and - with his allies - bound many as friends, defeated others, and freed still more.
He made all lands that ever fell into his hands a place of holy peace, respect, and freedom - and I do, literally mean lands, as the people were not so bound, though the continuous sanctuary effect in most places certainly meant it was harder to hurt people, and his continual search of the river of souls for slain among his nation meant that few passed on permanently before their time... and meant that those who did evil to his people were paid back swiftly and with great cost to themselves, while the victims rarely suffered more than fey-like annoyance (as their wealth and property were quickly restored).
Also, he was apparently secretly a delusional/amnesiac Count Renalc, so that was a thing.
None of this was easy, but it was done, and it was awesome. I am going to miss that game, and miss playing that character - a character I've played since 2010~! Wow!
Thank you, my love, for a wonderful experience!

Myth busted. It does not take a whole day to go around Mac Ritche reservoir. I started around 9am ish and here I am, out of the reservoir at noon. Granted, I was jogging after some white haired old codgers for a while.
Man those old uncles run fast for their age...anyone below 50 jogging in Mac Ritche, they're seriously hard core and I can't keep up with them.

After I finish telling the fam about the meaning of werewolf, weregild, and the [very abbreviated] Epic of Beowulf:
Homunculus #1: OK...where are the werewolves?
Me: Why would there be werewolves?
Homunculus #1: Beowulf. You know, Be-o-wolf. Be a wolf!
I prefer a wereguild. They meet every full moon.

So, another near-disastrous Serpent's Skull session, with two late players, one of whom then had technical difficulties until 7:45 pm (from a 6:30 pm start time). Then I promptly killed two PCs and the rest of the party had to flee yet again from yet another full-frontal assault.
I swear. Battlefield control? Choke points? Do anything *other* than, "Find the biggest-possible room you can, then bunch in the middle as enemies come in from all sides?"
I think my kids have watched one too many, "The good guys eventually die at the end," movies...

The homunculus #1 should actually ask about werebears. Beo = bee. Beowulf = bee wolf, the one who steals honey from bees, that is the bear.

I had a 1st level swashbuckler once fight off 12 goblins by bottle necking them. Still almost died and the rest of the party had already went down. Basically one party member pulled the dungeon. was killed I retreated and found myself in a good spot. I still barely made it out of it alive the parry made all the difference.

And I hate being called "shy". I had to deal with that crap all through school, I even had a professor in college tell me that I needed to "get over being so shy". I'm not shy. I didn't speak u in class because either A) I didn't give a s*+# about the discussion, or B) I had nothing to add to the discussion. (Side note: I always hated those kids who would wait until someone else said something and then chimed in with "Yes, I agree completely. I was going to say the same thing myself." when they had no intention of doing so, and then acting like they were actually contributing to the discussion.) This led to pretty much every teacher telling me (or my parents at parent/teacher conferences) that I was too shy. Which always gave my parents a laugh because while I do tend to be rather quiet, I will definitely talk if the subject is interesting. And don't ask me to be in a play, either. Again, not because I'm shy or have stage-fright or whatever. I just have no interest in acting. Hell, I don't even like watching plays so there's no way I'm going to be in one. As for speeches, again I hate listening to them so why would I want to give one. Besides, most of the people in the audience don't want to hear what I have to say, so let's just skip it.

Ah I see your probably thinking of the typical erroneous definition of introvert. The best way I can describe how it was meant to be used is the following: For an extrovert being around a lot of people is energizing it makes them more lively and talkative. For an introvert Being around people is draining You have to put energy into it. So its not necessarily because we are shy Its just an investment of our resources to communicate and we like some return for that investment.

Just had nandos quarter drumstick set with the side as char grilled vegetables. I guess the only thing unhealthy about the meal was the drink (ice lemon tea).
Tried asking them to switch it for water but they said it couldn't be done.
Nandos is pretty good. Their chicken is well seasoned throughout so it's not just the surface that has flavor.

Most important thing. Maybe some kid out their somewhere will grow up to make the world a better place if we just allow them to grow up in the right environment.

It's not necessarily draining for me to be around people. If they are discussing/doing something I am interested in, then I'm good. If they are not then I don't see any reason for me to be there, get bored, and want to leave.
