So has anyone figured out why freehold hates everything good and loves everything bad?
Like I would probably agree with most everything bizzaro freehold says. He reminds me of the Simpsons halloween episode where bart has an evil twin but then it turns out bart was the evil twin all along.
I think it just comes down to a really really variant set of preferences, and likely at least in part growing up in a significantly different family culture than a lot of the rest of us.
On the other hand, he likes Final Fantasy 6, so he's not a total loss.

Your walking distance and what the rest of the Midwest consider walking distance are not the same thing. In this respect, you are a freak of nature.Down the street is a few blocks to a half mile.
Walking distance is 8 miles.

Forums are Way Too Long!
You need more moderators and Cut the number of pages down to 10 per thread, then start new thread plz! Most of the comments are 1 liners and the threads go all over the place I know these forums are young and under funded but [4053] pages on one topic is insanity!

As an aside, quick Fawtl poll:
How far away is "down the street" where you live? Is it something within visual distance? Less than a mile away? Can you walk it or would you have to drive? Is it bikeable/skateable? Or something else?
Around here "down the street" is anything walkable, usually within 3 short blocks or 1 long one.
Hmm. maybe a mile for "down the street". if I can walk it in less than 20 minutes, I probably will.

I liked the patchwork nature of Planescape, personally - it did kind of make sense if you consider how much of the multiverse could be changed at the whim of enormously powerful entities. Sigil (and all the factions therein) was particularly cool.
Sigil and its factions – hilariously bad critical fumble rules notwithstanding – are my favorite part of PS, hands down. I mean, a planar metropolis governed by a bunch of squabbling philosopher-clubs, some of whom want fascism while others want anarchy? And their beliefs literally grant them magical powers? And this metropolis has magical portals to anywhere and everywhere in the multiverse, and also beliefs can affect the physical reality of many of those planes? Yes please!
I’ve never seen anything even close to Sigil in any other gaming book or in fiction – hey, I’m sure somewhere there is – and I love the style it’s written in. I also love that it’s 100% transplantable to other cosmologies and other games – Sigil and the Factions are presented in the context of D&D’s Great Wheel, but there’s very little tying them to it. Sigil could be floating above any plane in any game that has a multiverse!

2. AC will probably need to be replaced.
3. The gas man came out to connect the gas and the line to the house failed. So no gas. Which means no cooking except on the propane grill we brought with us. Also no hot water, because it's a gas water heater.
So I've got electricity and cold water and that's it.

For me?
A few miles. I am notoriously will (weather allowing) to go for tour of shops just to get cheap things. I am getting more lazy nowdays when I don't have to maintain such tight grip on expenses as in the past, but I am still occasionally doing that.
Anyway I should do that often to improve my condition and lose excess ballast.

AC is fixed, the house is cooling off at last, and my old college roommate showed up for the last few hours and we got the truck completely unloaded.
Tomorrow we will bring the last pieces of furniture over from my mother-in-law's house and take the truck back!
And, NH, yes, I will kill you because there is NO ROOM ANYWHERE right now, just piles of boxes.

Well, let me put it this way: I have 9398 posts (9399 with this one), and I've been in the rules forums, and the political forums, and the advice forums, and yet in all that time, I think I've had maybe 9 posts total deleted, ever. And I knew why all 9 were deleted without having to ask.
Especially the three I got deleted with CY. What, exactly, is "derailing a thread"? In the larger scheme of things, aren't all threads FaWtL?

I would agree NH if there wasn't a... pattern... of Certain People deleting Certain Posts simply because they disliked the content, even if it did not break the rules of the forum at the time.
Some of those rules have since changed, of course, but that trust is long since shattered.

I've heard that before, though I've never seen it first-hand.
