A rainy winter sounds just fine compared to what I'm used to.

Sounds like the winter I spent in England.

If you are contemplating a west coast move, you could not get much better than San Francisco.

I think I've finally convinced "Veronica" that, while she's a nice girl, she's not my type or my speed (going out to the bar at midnight on a Wednesday is fine if you're in grad school, but not a good idea if you have to wake up at 5:30 AM and go to work on a construction site). Got set up on something approximating a blind date tonight with cute hipster chick "Betty" by a mutual friend. She seems cool--pretty low-key, a few years older than me (a first), and a big fan of Jawbreaker. Cautiously optimistic. Cautiously.

I'd love to see the groups you GM for :-)
New player: boy I hope we face a Dragon!
Player 1 (twitching slightly): beware, the smaller it is the harder they fall
Player 2 (eyes nervously looks about): shh! They might hear your whispers
Player 3 (rocking back and forth): The rats they come for us, again!

yesterday I had a night out with friends, we went to the Treibhaus, our favorite bar from the early 90s before our todays favorite bar opened 20years ago.
treibhouse had cahnged management and name some times and had closed finally
now the owner of our favorite bar has refurbished and reopened it under the old name as his second bar
we had fun and cider

Seriously, date both. Live the dream.
I was going to make a snarky comment about them leaving with each other but figured it might be in poor taste.
But yeah seriously, don't take FH's advice, it will not end well.

I've enjoyed visiting San Fran in the past, but it never screamed "move here." Maybe it's the fact that it is the one place with real estate prices more outrageous than New York.

Yesterday, my uncle posted on FB about he, my grandmother, and my cousin going to the Bellvale Creamery in Bellvale, NY. I must have read the post five times before I realized he hadn't written "Cemetery."

Late 2016. Nothing more specific than that.
We wanted winter and indoors, but having it outdoors in the fall may be more cost-effective. And while we like the idea of a small wedding, there are a lot of people who want to come. When that many people want to celebrate with you, it seems like it would be a shame to exclude them. Guest list likely over 100. Hence the need to control costs and probably have it outside.
A lot of the indoor venues around here charge $120 or more per person for the space plus food. *faints*

Calling the residents of Portland hipsters seems to understate the matter, but that is part of the charm.

While I was in Seattle for my business meetings, one of my vendors told me they have an opening in Portland and have been unable to fill it for several months due to lack of a qualified candidate with adequate pension and investment experience. They basically said its mine if I want it and it pays well. But now is not a good time for us to move anywhere.
Also, John loves the place.

Also, I once saw Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein eating at a Little Big Burger in Portland.
