Hate isn't owned by any one person or group... it's owned by everyone.
I once had to politely sit and listen to a transsexual rant on about the evil and horrible plague on society that are the transvestites. Just like the worst small town fire and brimstone preacher. It got me thinking; people will always find an excuse to hate.

oh no people dressed in clothes only socially sanctioned for one gender! The horror!

That person you mention sounds like one of those 'transer than thou' people. Whom I heavily dislike.

I could start a game of "Who said it: gay-hating pit preacher or tumblr trans The Discourse?" at this point, really.

Some days when people are looking for a reason to hate, you just open up and say, "Take your pick."

How could you not? I'm just flabbergasted. Of course I live in Kansas, named for the Kansa tribe. Kansa meaning "People of the south wind" which sounds all noble until you find out that the names of tribes that white folks use, are typically the name that others used for the tribes, not the ones they used. Then its a very stinky name. We Blame Oklahoma.
