Two words: Drafting Table. We issue them so people can occasionally stand and work whilst recovering from less severe stuff. Countertops work too.

Good luck, DD!

Counter-tops are actually short for me. When can you have the drafting table here? :-)

Yeah, it's sad when certain staff have to spend their Sundays on patrol.

Home. After spending 4 hours under a house with a 1ft high crawlspace drilling and trenching I really don't feel like cooking right now. :/

But compared to what some of our FaWtLy brethren have going on, I'll just count my blessings and get in the kitchen.

Yes. Yes I have.

I may be done with posting around here for a while. This is quickly becoming a place that is no longer a fun safe place to hang.

rant & explanation:
And it's not necessarily what is being posted but how it's being posted. It's really kind of sad. But when posts are being written in such a way as to communicate -- "If you don't think exactly the way I do, then you are stupid", it's time to move on. I've really had to fight the urge hard not to slam one troll asking how it is that he knows so much living in his mom's basement. I know that AZ and others have tried to bring some attention to it but it just hasn't worked. Ignoring doesn't work. Flagging doesn't work. Bringing it to light doesn't work. Not sure what will.

I guess I'll stick with seeing you all on FB (sorry FHDM and BT) and maybe lurk here very periodically hoping that things will improve.

I don't think that I'm alone in this either -- I've seen a number of others of you have really limited yourselves on where you post and how often you hang out here compared to before.

(I'll still do the pbp though. Just need to avoid most of the rest of the messageboards.)

Oh well.

For Moff:

Spoiler:
Been there Moff, done that. There was a point when I had everything closed except for the PbP sector. I still have all the playtest forums closed up because I cannot stand the vitriol. I'd have the OTD closed, but for a few threads I enjoy (like this one). Sometimes it's hard to make the Will Save. I blew one myself when talk of my favorite prospective candidate came up. Don't let the haters and trolls get you down. Remember, they are in RL bitter, angry, sad people, many of whom do what they do to get a sick jolly out of posting in a way to upset and annoy others. Breathe deep, and let it go. After all, who cares what the trolls think? They can prat on and on about how many spaghetti monsters can dance on the head of a pin. Be the bigger man and just let it slide. They reap a harvest of bitterness from the vitriol they sow.

Maybe one day we'll have a separate section for the actual fun OTD threads. Then we can close up the pointless argument threads for good and let the trolls tear at their own flesh.

Despite my day job, I too am no fan of psychopharmacology, and I bemoaned the day that other perspectives were drowned out in the name of the results it offers. For all its faults(and there are several), at the very least the Freudian approach attempted to get to the bottom of a lot of issues. Not so nowadays.

Unfortunate. You will be missed, as ever. I look forward to your eventual return, but I would rather you did not leave. Trolls don't deserve that level of power, and I would argue that they never had it, so why indulge them?

Good morning from the top of the world (its all a mater of perspective in a 4 dimensional universe).

The Australian version of the Amazing race was on the other night...surprisingly I liked it, usually Australian copies of American shows suck more than a super-massive black-hole. The only problem was that they cloned Phil and gave him a Australian accent.

Don't let the trolls win. I avoid most of the political threads because life is to short to engage in pseudo arguments that are only designed to garner some reaction. Why deprive yourself of fun, frivolous nonsense like this thread just because of the obnoxious neighbors next door?

It's when the ones that should have been fun frivolous nonsense, or at least neutral topics, get invaded. I avoid the threads I know are gonna be bad, but sometimes there's spillover. :(

But I am not going anywhere. The trolls come and the trolls go, but I stay put. This would be easier if there were a section of the boards for silliness, but in the meantime I'm too stubborn to leave. :)

Isn't it? I love playing a crude barbarian or nasty-tempered fighter every now and again, especially in shorter campaigns. Long term, I prefer good RP chars, but it's nice to slice'n'dice on occasion.

This character has plenty of depth outside of combat, too. She's a paladin, in a decidedly neutral-ish to evil society, so there will be plenty of opportunity for roleplay as she balances her divine mission against the predominant social norms-- and the generally chaotic nature of the rest of the party.

But in combat, she charges up to things on her trusty steed and ribbonizes them with a greatsword. It's *nice* to have the best damage output in the party, for a change. :)

Mothman wrote:
Sounds like fun, what is your character?

She's a half-orc paladin of Tanagal (homebrew world-- goddess of justice, fire, and righteous anger) with a unicorn mount. She's the twin sister of a prominent NPC in our last long campaign, and this campaign is a continuation of that one, so she's got a pretty lengthy backstory already. :)

See, you're one of the ones who don't post as much any more. LPM, Flash, Jeremy, etc.... There are a number who have really dropped off quite a bit -- just makes the trolls a bit more noticable when there aren't as much of the rest of you around.

I know I stepped back my posting to this thread/Paizo a while back as well. I tend to stick to a few areas, post details about upcoming products, and otherwise try to ignore the rest. So I sympathize.

Indeed, this may have something to do with it. I propose an anti-troll initiative by getting people who rarely post to do so more often, not so much feeding the trolls as poisoning them.

That... would be awesome.

Of course, our current party consists of an elven sorcerer, a human cleric, a melee-focused human ranger, and my half-orc paladin. The only one of us who's really good at ranged combat is the sorcerer, and I can't see Pelori riding pillion when she can fly. ;)
