I also have an excess of candied cherries and pitted dates. Now I have to figure out what I can do with these things. It seems like it would be a shame to let them go to waste.
The session began with Grigori being sent on his way and the players clearing out Old Crackjaw. Once they returned, Kiriv ran off on his own for a bit as he seemed to have found a loved one. Later on, the party was approached by Nugrah, who asked Sage to use a scroll of Reincarnate on him after he had killed himself. The wizard offered him poison to give a quick and clean death before reviving him, and the old druid returned as a human, his old body rejuvenated to one of a young adult. Some time after this, they investigated an area where a ranger had heard calls for help. The local leucrotta attempted to ambush them, but failed rather badly before it got gutted. As they continued further south, they ran into Munguk, who had in turn run into a shambling mound. They helped the giant kill the plant, and then proceeded to Diplomatically convince him to join against the trolls that had rejected him.
When they returned to Stagshelm, they were met with news of children going missing in the night. After doing some investigation on the subject, they managed to track down the cultists of Gyronna behind the kidnappings. While the heroes managed to strike down half the cultists and capture the other half, they found three children (a changeling named Tatiana, her medusa friend Euphemia and a mute forlarren named Fina) nobody at the village knew about, which Sage chose to took under his wing after recognizing some wizardly talent in them. Soon after, Tatiana revealed she was actually a witch and Euphemia is more suited to the path of a sorceress (her jabberwork lineage was found out about with some help from the kobold sorcerers) while Fina was given to the care of Tiressa, who plans to raise her on the path of good as a druid. Having all that arranged, Oruda, Sage and Ciaran are suddenly invited to Kiriv's wedding.
One week later, the troll sightings have dropped significantly while Rokhura and Neregui reported back and found that there were more of them than they had anticipated. As the heroes realized their map had some important details missing and the younger brother Bokken mentioned was still running around, they chose to take a path westward. Taking down the crazy younger brother on the way, they then arrived at the elven ruins. Surprisingly, they managed to disarm both of the traps in the area and sneak into the Dancing Lady's chamber without the Grimstalker or Rigg the Quickling noticing them. Sage used diplomacy while also being extremely careful with the Dancing Lady (whom he didn't really trust after a Knowledge Nature check), and managed to broker an agreement after letting her get a taste of Ciaran's blood (the Dancing Lady took an immediate liking to him) despite his refusal to agree to this at first. Now they plan to head back to Stagshelm to update the situation, leave off again to investigate the tomb that the Mad Hermit's map told of, and then launch an attack on the trolls that have been hounding them all this time.
So in summary...
- Monsters dispatched
- New allies acquired
- Kiriv is married
- Sage has two apprentices now
- Ciaran has gotten a rather obsessive admirer
...I'm looking forward to the next session, since we probably will be moving to Varnhold Vanishing then.
Fruit cake is out of the oven. I had to bake it a lot longer than the recipe said. That is probably because I lined the pan with parchment paper instead of foil, which would would have conducted heat better. Anyway, it looks impressive, but may very well taste disgusting.
Reminiscing with Dad about WW2 and his time as a Navy corpsman in the Pacific theater and uncle Harold storming the beaches at Iwo Jima and uncle Bob's service in the Korean War. Dad served at Peal Harbor.
When we moved to Odessa TX (when I was 3) gas was 21 cents a gallon and smokes were a quarter a pack.
It provides an interesting and special perspective. I imagine I will remember this time fondly in the future.
Here is hoping that everyone has a wonderful week, a Merry Christmas, and an even better New Year. Be safe out there. Now go spend some time with your loved ones!
good morning everyone,
we progress nicely with the packing of Sabine's mums and grandmas appartment.
sadly her mums health is not good atm but yesterday and today it did improve a bit
we found a lot of old flyers and postcards from grAndmas various holidays during kommunist GDR times
very cool, she and her late husband visited Moscow, st.petersburg, sotschi, wolgograd, casachstan, turkmenistan and many other places
maybe I report a bit more about that when we are back home

During the initial Japanese attack or later?

I remember times when an ice cream costed 10 grands... It got better.
I am at work, but I don't know why. This place is creepy. It's like, everyone is here, but no one has work to do, and nobody is talking. We should all be at home.
Kind of the same here CH. Though less "nobody's talking" and more "everybody's milling about eating food or preparing for the company xmas party in T-minus 1 hour".
We may go to breakfast! It will be nice to get out of the house. I'm a coughing, hacking, aching snot machine, but the fever is gone so I'm no longer contagious, right?
I wonder if there's any place where I could request or commission some designs for a few coats of arms. Would be nice for the nation in Kingmaker to have a coat of arms, as well as have ones made for the cities of Stagshelm (the capital), Levendia (currently a town where Oleg's Trading Post resides) and Tatzlford (those who have played Kingmaker know where this is), not to mention Varnhold and Fort Drelev.
If you can stand the coat of arms in question being done in a copy-paste manner I could give it a go using some of the free heraldry clipart and free-to-use for non-commercial purposes stuff from wikipedia.
My holiday is over, but I still will open presents on Wednesday in deference to my more Abrahamic kin.
I hope this season finds you all happy and in the company of loved ones. Make sure to give them all an extra hug or two, you never know if you'll be able to do it later.

Aegols, have you perhaps need for a schooled musicologist? My German cousin is looking for a work in her field of studies and she happens to live in Alzey but she will be moving to Wiesbaden soon.
