Working nekkid with my wife?!? WOOHOO!!! BttH!!!! I'm down with that!!

Scarab Sages

Working nekkid with steam, however, could be painful.

So her submersible troubles steam your mechanical issues? ~grins and runs~

Your wife seems like a realy smart person, Aberzombie. How in the hell dod you trick her into marrying you? ~grins and ducks~

Morning from my Monday Mocha, you crazy FAWTLers.

Good morning dinketry.

~sighs~ Time to get the new work laptop out and try to get the stuff from my old computer set up on it. Then I need to do SOMETHING useful today. Have fun kids!

Not surprisingly, you aren't the first person to ask this question. I myself have asked it. So has my wife upon occasion.

My answer has always been because I'm dead sexy and would bleed pure awesomeness if I bled.

I'm fairly certain I'm actually the only sane one here. Either that or I really am crazy and you're all figments of my imagination.

Shenanigans - an awesome word that sees far too little use in this modern world.

Scarab Sages

Evil shenanigans!!!

Also, good luck on your test. I have it on good authority that the answer to question 5 is E. None of the Above.

Alrighty folks, I'm out of here for now. Gotta go do something for a while.

Figments tend to be more ... colorful, actually.

Heck. They tried that in Rochester, NY.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

Quirky fact about the International Fixed Calendar I linked above. The Eastman Kodak Company used that calendar on all internal correspondence, payroll records, and so on, clear up through 1989. It seems like the kind of thing they would have done a long time ago, but not so much...

Mrgh. My 90 yo mother called me yesterday to 'ask me a favor'. To not post anything about her on my FB page. "Because it's so public". /shakes head

Spoiler:
I posted a prayer request for her as she battles pneumonia. My sis-in-law called me Fri night and made a snarky comment that my sis (that my mom lives with) should have sent out a family email when they had to try a 2nd antibiotic. Gave my sis a heads up Saturday and she goes off about my sis-in-law always criticizing, etc then gets ticked at me for posting anything about the 2nd antibiotic. I tried to settle her down but apparently failed. She gets my mom worked up about it. Stoopid. Unfriended both my bro and my sis to avoid the bs. All this aggravation over something so petty. Wowsers

FB isn't stoopid, but people sure can be.

The Exchange

Another interview today. Different recruiters same building. Lets see what happens now.

OotS?

The OotS kickstarter is one that I am glad that I put in for. Rich has done his best to keep everyone up to date and he has been honest when there have been delays.

OTOH, I also can see how the Kickstarter program can be abused.

Not OotS, but close!

That was almost my reaction as well, but she was holding a frying pan when she said it and I didn't want my poor, tender head to be afflicted with bashings and thrashings.

Better frying pan than the gun.

Yay rice cooker.

I have a very nice one! Fuzzy logic, keep warm setting, makes 5 cups, has multiple settings for different types of rice! Whoo! It's a Panasonic I got from Fry's, and it's better than the one I had in Japan. :)

Might have to look into a rice cooker....Mmmmm....

Go for it cj! YOU CAN DO IT!

I'm sorry to hear about the drama e7. Facebook makes things complicated sometimes.

Jess Door, you speak heresy.

Aaaaand I think that's it. My day is coming down around my ears, but I think we'll she'll hold together.

sparks fly from computer panel

come on baby, hold together....

Rice cookers are FAWESOME!

I have a cheapy from the evil empire, I mean Wal-Mart,... ;P

It is great. I never used to cook anything but 'instant' rice, due to my inability to cook regular rice and make it edible. Since I bought it I haven't cooked anything but regular rice since.

Definitely worth getting if your like my family and live on meals that require rice or pasta.

(Which explains why I look like i do, and not like one of the athletes at the Olympics!) ;P

Thanks for letting me vent. I just can't believe someone with a Masters in Social Work would get a sick 90yo person involved in petty drama like this. Bet she wouldn't do that to one of her cases.

Liking the rice cooker idea more and more. We don't use rice a lot, but a cooker would be great for the occasional left over chinese food.

Jess - Can you provide/link info on the uber model you use?

Karen loves her rice cooker. When the cats killed her old one, she HAD to get a replacement rice cooker ASAP!!!

Good luck, CJ!

Sorry to hear about the silly drama, E7.

Urizen, I'm looking forward to seeing you again at GenCon. Plus, I get to meet BP and Ashe.

Scarab Sages

The wife and I have a rice cooker. We used it more often before the boy came along.

Scarab Sages

These days we've also taken a fancy to these packs of Minute Rice that come in small, microwavable containers - a single serving size per. One minute in the microwave per container - very convenient.

Scarab Sages

The wife also likes to get these microwavable bags of rice & veggies. Even Charlie likes those.

Rice cookers are great. I have a nice Japanese one I bought from the asian grocery and it's held up well, but I'm looking into getting a smaller one since it's a ten cup rice cooker and we never need that much in one sitting. Unless I'm using the rice cooker to make biryani. But other than that, never that much at once.

I'm not sure this is the exact same model, but it's close.

5 cups, same brand, and the different type of cooking options, as well an automatic keep warm option. I don't think mine has the handle.

Also you'll want the rice paddle, the steamer, and the cup itself. 5 cup rice cooker doesn't mean five standard cups - it refers to the cup the rice cooker comes with.

The steamer allows you to steam dumplings or veggies or whatnot right over top of your cooking rice. Mmmmm!

Zojirushi (look for the elephant - "zou" = elephant in Japanese) and Tiger are very good brands too.

This looks close too

I'll confirm the exact model when I get home.

I have a crock pot, rice cooker and water boiler that I consider necessary small appliances in the kitchen. :)

Edit: Lynora, wow, 10 cups! I've never had a need for more than 5, really. Usually 3 is enough for me, and 5 is enough when I'm serving curry to my entire gaming group. :D
