I was comparing the Pistol to the musket, trying to figure out where the numbers came from, and I noticed something.
Pistol = one-handed, 1d8, 20x4, 20 foot range, misfire on 1, standard action reload.
Musket = two-handed, 1d12, 20x4, 40 foot range, misfire on 1,2, full-round action reload.
Size Large Pistol = two-handed, 2d6, 20x4, 20 foot range, misfire on 1, standard action reload, -2 on attack rolls for medium-size creatures.
Given that the first range increment is a touch attack, given the increased reload times and misfire chance on the musket, given that there will probably be a "pistol" size revolver but not a musket-size revolver in the final rules, why would anyone bother using the musket? Why not just stick to the Hellboy Hand-Cannon? Is the extra 20 feet really worth that much? Because I don't see it.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the damage increment is 1d8 -> 1d10, not 1d8 -> 2d6.
So that makes it a toss-up. Considering you're going for ranged touch attacks, yeah, the -2 might be worth the lower chance of misfire.

That would be the progression with medium weapons, but when you jump to large size the dice leap up several steps to 2d6.
A large size musket would be 3d6, though it wouldn't be useable by a medium size creature due to the two-handedness.

a large pistol? really? the regular ones are so rare where will you find this? in the hands of an ogre? who made it for him? and why? as a practical joke to see if he could blow himself up?
that much more powder and it can still only fire 20 feet??
what about a huge pistol?? ahahaha. The creature will be able to reach as far as the pistol has short range?
Too funny.
it really annoys me when people try to "anime/final fantasy weapons"
but in this case it definitely is funnier because it "breaks" the weapon

That's because the basis is 1d4 becomes 1d6. 1d8 = 2d4, so 1d8 becomes 2d6.
The penalty, worse range, & increased purchase cost makes the large pistol kinda suck compared to the musket.

Compared to the Musket, the Large Pistol has a reduced re-load time and reduced misfire chance. Given the cost of -1 misfire (+1 bonus) versus -2 misfire (+4 bonus), I think that's a significant advantage.
The -2 attack penalty is trivial, given that the weapon only makes one attack, and doubly so within the first range increment, thanks to touch AC.
From an optimization point of view, what is a character using Pistols + Quickdraw doing with his off-hand? Dual-Wielding? Using a buckler? The gunslinger doesn't seem to have enough feats to pull off two-weapon fighting, especially given the high cost of carrying a big stack of Quickdraw Pistols around or the Feat-Intensive cost of reloading (a non-starter before 11th level).

1d8=/=2d4. 2d4 is much better (higher minimum damage, higher average damage)
1d8 increased 1 size is 1d10.
1d10 becomes 2d8 not 4d4
