Wraith Help

Advice

Hi all

I'm playing Kingmaker at the moment, and our enemies have sent a Wraith to kill us.

We are a lev 6 Ranger, Summoner, Witch and I'm a level 6 Wizard. I'm new to D20 and Paizo and was wondering what the best way to deal with it was, as I'm drawing a blank.

currently it seems only my wand of magic missile can hurt it...

I recommend that you and others in your party start making Knowledge (Religion) checks, most GMs don't appreciate people trawling the internet for help on the game. Knowledge (Religion) is what you use to find out useful information on monsters.

We've done the knowledge religion checks, and know it has the undead traits, but not sure how best to fight it after that, and trying to replicate my characters intelligence (19) by saking for help.

Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!!

I don't mind Shelby trawling the forums for information. As he points out his character is Int 19, with a broad range of knowledges. While I would rather he worked out a plan based upon the information available to his character, but since he isn't that well versed in the rules, it makes sense that he gets help from people who know the rules better. After all, he simple does not understand the way his magic works as well as his character does, and it seems unfair to penalise him for that.

In fairness to the group a big part of the parties problem was that they had not invested in enough magic items, weapons and armour. I suspect a rematch now would result in the wraith fleeing for its unlife, rather than going after the castle staff and taunting Shelby's character before taking its leaving to ensure that its full orders where undertaken. :D

All undead are vulnerable to anyone dressed in a bunny suite.

Witch wards or buffs the ranger/summoner/eidolon.

You throw shield and bear's endurance on the ranger or summoner. Have oils of magic weapon or the spell handy.

Wraith appears, your guys murder it with magic weapons and have enough touch AC and fort save (from various buffs/wards/etc) to avoid most of the drain it does. You continue to magic missile

You do half damage to incorporeal undead, not none with magic weapons.

1-2 rounds of this the wraith should be about done.

Halt Undead would act as a SoD spell in this encounter.
Magic Circle Against Evil might be a good idea. If the encounter's important enough, consider buying some scrolls or a wand of Death Ward. It makes the wraith a lot less scary.
