Ever since Advanced Player's Guide came out, I've been wondering what a good favored class bonus for magus would be. Since this is after APG, I doubt they'll get a bonus in Ultimate Magic.
My initial ideas were +1/4 to a magus' Arcana Pool, or (The potentially much more powerful) +1/6 Magus Arcana. These are ideas for human magus.

Sounds good, I would add +1/4 of a spell from the Wizard spell list, up to 1 level lower than the highest level you can cast. 2 Spells if 2 levels lower.
I forgot about the wizard favored class ability, but adding a wizard spell would be really powerful since they get a Magus Arcana that does that. Best keep it to Magus spells only for the favored class bonus.

I would be OK with Maguses just counting as Fighters for Favored Class Purposes, i.e. if you want non HP/skill bonus, you just pick Favored Class: Fighter, and you get the same benefit for Magus levels. I could see a line also letting the Magus count as a level of Wizard for Favored Class (you have to choose each level, if you are a Half-Elf with Fighter and Wizard as Favored Class) but with the caveat that you must pick Magus Spells as the bonus Spells Known. Between Fighter Training and all the abilities directly tie-ing in with Wizard casting, this seems more than reasonable to me. It also makes multi-classing Magus with a bit of Fighter or Wizard a bit more viable, which makes sense to me.
