I would really like to be a part of a pathfinder play by post game. I haven't done it before, but am really interested. I am a graduate student so I have time to post frequently and keep up. Please let me know if anyone is looking for players. I have a tendency to prefer divine casters and actually really enjoy the healer role.

*raises hand*
Also adding a post to show interest.
I currently have a few PbP's on the simmer, along with a couple which have passed on.....*sniff*
Anywho, I currently have time on my hands and am free to create a character to help with any game that might be froth comming. (^_^)
Much cheers to every one

Well, actually, since your self might be offering to take on the work load of marshaling our three fine amigo's I put the question back to you?
Is there, perhaps some adventures/modules you've always been intrigued by and might see fit to place them within Golarion?
Is/are there an Adventure Path which particularly tickles your fancy?
Follow my Avatar name back and peruse some of the other characters I have created for other games, perhaps something there may spark your creative Muse?
*bows*
I think you for your time and interest.

on what i wish to play, well there is something on the back of my mind... if i ever get this sorted out
i sadly don't own any APs, though i would love to own any
now there are a few half-baked ideas to play on Golarion
i'm rather flexible on what game to be made...

Oddly enough I am pretty much open to whatever. I think setting it Golarian and keeping pretty close to the Pathfinder rules would be best for me because I don't have any real experience with 3.5 besides pathfinder.
I have been obsessed with the worlds largest dungeon or whatever.
Have you gm'd a play by post before Ulgualanoth? This is my first. If an is still in and once we figure out what we are doing we can throw up another recruitment thread and maybe get one or two more people. My guess would be more than five would be cumbersome.

If we're tossing out potential characters, I've got a bard in mind. A human or half-elf, possibly Taldan. He's generally a good guy, but is chiefly motivated by a love for the road. He likes to slum it up in backwater taverns even when he won't admit it. Possibly a minor noble, but he regards guile as the penultimate virture and likes to downplay his importance and utility. He may go to great lengths to get things done when others aren't around, but he'll take great pains to marginalize his accomplishments. In the end, he would prefer that others underestimate him.
I'd also really like to try out the witch class, but I haven't been able to formulate a solid character for it yet.

Alright, if you don't feel it's going to be too caster heavy, I just got an idea for a witch I'd very much like to play. More likely than not a half-elf, and a native of Varisia (probably derived, in fact, from elven and Varisian human stock). He's very reserved and analytical, and believes in balance much the way old school druids do. He tends to take a diplomatic approach to most situations, and is fairly close to the natural world. Most of his skill would be cross-classed in order to get all of the social skills (diplomacy, bluff, sense motive), and on the battlefield, he'd favor spells that contribute in a less direct fashion. Lot's of buffs for the party, debuffs to the enemy, and battlefield control. A small degree of healing, but few if any spells that deal damage directly.

This is my first PBP game, so please forgive me for asking - where do we post our characters, and in what format?
Also, how much power gaming is usually assumed to take place on these boards? The witch I've got in mind has a 16 int, which I know would be fine in many games I've played in, but if I showed up to a living table at GenCon with that, I'd get laughed back to the exhibit hall.

You can create the new character through your Account'.
Try coming here:LINK
And asking for a walk through the process.
As for how cheesy/Munchkin....um....weeell....>_>
I think as long as the total CR of the character is at approximately level 5 (Myself erring on the side of caution) You should be okay.

To the folks who are just now looking to join up at this point I would say that ultimately decisions about who can join/jump in are up to our GM: Ulgulanoth.
Just for informations sake though let me list.
The party so far would be (I am just using the names people are posting under on here for the time being). Class notes are just based off what people through out not necessarily final at all.
Christopher Tomas - some sort of healer, probably an oracle
Sunset -
Martinaj - witch
Shodkavots - Sorcerer
Benoit Leblanc -
Xane -
Joe - rogue
Earlier the GM had mentioned seven people being max for him so I think if everyone in the list is interested we probably are okay. Sunset, Benoit, and Xane what sort of character are you all interested in playing?
| Asara |
Xane,
He said we take max at first level so wouldn't you have needed to roll 4d10 and add your ten from lvl 1 + con bonus/lvl + favored class bonus/lvl (if you went this way rather than skill)?
I could have done mine wrong though. I am just figuring this stuff out.
All,
I have my character up. I need to do equipment stuff and write a brief background story still.
This is [b}Tomas[/b]

I am indeed taking a penalty, thank you for your concern Asara.
I also did forget to add the starting/first level HP...^^;
Dehrisan?
look to the bottom of the page, just under where the box for entering new posts is.

background for the game:
Harp Port is a small village on the coast of Varisia, situated on the island in the Varisian Gulf, between Spire of Laniriss and Gruankus. Harp Port is has always been a holy site for both native Varisians and Shoanti, build on the ruins of a long lost civilisation that pre-dated the Thassilonian Empire. Inscribed on huge rock monoliths lay a simple story, of a king who left his kingdom with his most trusted followers, to find enlightenment in a far off land. The unique thing about this tablet is that it has written on it the date for his return, 4 days from now, many have gathered to see if this old legend may actually be true…
Alright, can everyone include in their character’s background a reason for them to be in Harp Port?
