On May 1st, Rich posted on Twitter that he is trying to finish the O-Chul story obligation for the Kickstarter campaign before he does another strip for the main story line. I gave to the Kickstarter and I haven't seen where he's published the O-Chul story yet, so it will probably be a week or more until we see another regular strip.

I'm fully expecting the mechanic to lose it when she realizes what a mess of things she has done. Or worse blame it on the captain. Not to mention worst person to put in charge of any situation imo. "Maybe if I tamper with the engines with a untried theory that might work..yeah"
Please. This is exactly what happens when you put Scotty in command of the Enterprise.

Thejeff,
Hey now! I think Scotty is a pretty good engineer but a more than decent command officer! But yes, she clearly would probably do more harm than good being the captain.
It was more the "Maybe if I tamper with the engines with a untried theory that might work..yeah."
I can just see Scotty in command racing down to the engine room to bootstrap something

Last time I checked Scotty never knocked out Kirk over a personal disagreement. Or was oblivious to the what was happening around her. The mechanic is acting like she is still in control of the situation. Clearly the character is not. I'm wondering what the hell the rest of the crew is doing. It's obvious Andi is in denial yet the follow her. It's not even so much about the character jury rigging the engines. So much that she has no clue (or at least to me) what she is doing. As well Andi does not seem to do well with a changing situation imo.
Here is a funny clip from the original Star Trek.

Yeah, I'm following you. I still loved his appearance in Next Gen when he started giving orders about how to juryrig stuff in the middle of a crisis and Geordi told him that it wouldn't work according to the manuals...He replied that he WROTE that manual and was pretty sure that would work.
He was all about the "I've given it all she's got.... Ok, what if I did this, Oh there's some more!!!"

Read The Kobayashi Maru by Julia Ecklar.
It describes in flashback form Kirk's, Sulu's, Chekov's, and Scotty's attempts at the No-Win Scenario back in their Academy days, and while the simulator had no Engine Room for him to go to mid-battle, that's otherwise exactly what Mr. Scott did when the simulated Klingons attacked.

I was actually thinking of that. :)

The mechanic just jumped at the opportunity to get back to something familiar (tinker with the ship) and she is just ignoring all the rest. Catastrophe should shortly follow, likely because they will stop since she did not tell them not to
I witnessed some incompetent would-be leaders / managers act exactly this way, and bully others into not questioning their bad decisions

Agreed and seconded. It's not helped that the mechanic is both in denial and trying to do the adult version of "something bad is happening I need to hide under the covers". Hoping that the situation will improve by hiding and because being the captain is no fun anymore acting like everything is good.

Thomas Seitz wrote:Then who's sword just went over the edge?Bob,
It's something that happened like...20 pages ago I think?
A random mook's sword. You will notice (e.g., panel 8) that the sword Roy was using was a single-edged cutlass with a basket hilt -- a typical pirate sword. His family heirloom is a straight, double-edged knightly arming sword with a straight (and green-colored) hilt.
Roy picked it up a few strips ago because simply shouting insults at the giant wasn't going to do anyone any good.

How fortunate that when Roy drops his sword to hang on the ship for dear life, it is not the Greenhilt sword ;-)
I have the nagging feeling that we have not yet seen the last of Feminist Frosty
Indeed Rich has recently introduced several Evil NPCs that readers can relate to (the gloomy Worg and his mistress, the feminist giantess, maybe we can include vengeful Sabine in that lot too).
Will they ally with the oots when the time comes to fight against the end of the world ?
