Advice

I came up with an idea of a Hulk Hogan kind of character. Obiviously, fighter is the best road. His background is that he was a former fighter in a more civilized venue than pit fighters or gladiators. He will be unarmed and unarmored. I think combat manuevers such as grappling and Ki throw (suplex/power bomb) from the apg reminds me of some typical wwf types of moves that this guy would employ. Does anyone here have any ideas? I know that a monk would probably be a better fit mechanically but not thematically.

Grab Dirty Trick, Trip, Reposition, Grapple and a Monk's Robe, just don't actually tear it in half. Be sure to describe your actions with the right flavor, using the mechanics to support it.

Master Chymist

Huge physical score bonuses and raw bonuses to CMB from MC levels.

also you might want to consider for either MC or Fighter (if your using them) hero point feats. since Combat Manuvers are often a single check it can be well worth a hero point for +8 to that check to succeed.

if you took all 3 hero feats you get 2/level , have a pool of 5 and you would't spend a point if you roll higher than 15 when using it.

+8 on a CMB check is friggin HUGE

Liberty's Edge

I'm assuming you're referring to the classic red and gold-wearing, Hulkamania Hulk Hogan and not black and white-garbed, NWO Hollywood Hulk Hogan. If we're talking about classic Hulk, don't forget to give him something like Diehard to simulate Hogan's ability to get up from a two-count and shrug off his opponent's attacks. There's a 3.5 feat called Second Wind (in the Minis Handbook I think) that heals you a little bit once per day as well. You might even consider a level-dip into Barbarian since Rage could easily be used for those moments when Hogan "Hulks-out."

Flying Kick from Complete Warrior might be used to represent the running leg drop and (you've probably already considered this) Stunning Fist could work as the open-handed chest slap Hulk uses to paralyze his opponents. I'm not sure if Pathfinder has a feat equivalent to Great Throw from the 3.0 Oriental Adventures book, but it works well as a body slam.

Hogan was never really known for being a particularly graceful grappler so, defensively, you might consider feats or abilities like Toughness that emphasize staying power over agility.

Liberty's Edge

I was planning a similar character and was looking to take improved/greater overrun to represent some sort of charging clothesline attack. Improved grapple/greater grapple are also a must.

May thought on this character was a bit more "Macho Man" Randy Savage(physically built like 'The Ultimate Warrior'), ever since I saw a local church sign that said "Wrestling with God!"

"YOU WANNA WRESTLE WITH GOD?! OOOOOOOOOOH YEAAAAA!"
*flexes and stares crazed at the commoners passing by*

3.5E and it's alignment issues kinda prevented it (Monk = Lawful, Kord = CG), but in Pathfinder you have Iori (LN)! My original thought was Monk 1/ Cleric X, but a Paladin of Iori with a Smite from the top ropes could be entertaining as well. Niether would be the "best" unarmed combatant in the world, but it would be tons of fun to roleplay. Though I just got a Pathfinder STR cleric (of Gorum) to level 15 and he was pretty impressive.

This is what I am talking about. Not necessarily Hulk Hogan, but a professional wrestler. I figure taunting would be a essential.

Some people don't seem to like it but Dazzling Display sounds like a good choice for a showman grappler. A pro wrestler has a much better chance of becoming a legend if he can work a microphone so, if you want to go all out and build a martial entertainer, give him a good Charisma and put some ranks in Perform (Acting,) Intimidate and Bluff. I've never seen a "taunt" feat that was really worth taking so I'd just stick with the social skills or work with your DM to come up with a good feat that does what you need. Complete Warrior has a good section on running gladiator fights and how gladiators can work the crowd to gain inspiration or actually suffer penalties if the crowd goes against them. A feat that allows you to make a Diplomacy or Intimidate check to work the crowd in a similar way would be pretty cool for this character.

For this sort of build, you could probably not worry as much about Wisdom, but you might need an extra skill point per level for his "mic skills." Maybe an INT around 12, CHA around 13-14 and then physical scores where you need them based on his grappling style. Higher STR and CON would work for a big, Hulk Hogan-type guy while higher DEX would be good for a luchadore.

Another feat you might look into if you want to make your character sort of a heel is Catch Off-Guard. Nothing says professional wrestling quite like a steel chair across the back or a championship belt to the face.

The Dwarven Paladin I'm currently playing in RotRL uses Dazzling Display as sort of a reverse taunt, in a sense that it's an AoE Debuff to enemy attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks. It works well if you're built on survival(Meat shield, Tank, etc.) rather than damage output.

Remember to design a "Big Leg Drop" feat that destroys prone opponents... ;)

Also come up with alternative class features: "The Four Demandments" available @ 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th level

The Leg Drop needs to be wholly unsurvivable.

No one gets up from that.

You could probably talk to your DM to re-skin the way the item looks but I do remember coming across a Luchador Mask (basically) in the APG Magic Items section. Either way this character concept sounds awesome, and I wish you luck with it.

This is great. The idea I had originally was a guy who was once a wrestler who took up adventuring and used his wrestler bag of tricks. Think about a city campaign where the opponents say "that's the champ". Maybe every now and then he puts on the tights. You guys are churning out great ideas, keep them coming.

Made a baddie somewhat like this. His backstory involved being tossed into a gladiatorial pit due to crimes he committed.

Ended up being Alchemist 4 / Barbarian (Pit Fighter) 4.

Wasn't too shabby.

For a real show of strength, he would use the strength Mutagen and Bull's Strength, then Ant Haul to triple his load capacity.

Nothing like picking up 3600 pounds to scare off competition.

Half orc who worships the god "Ref"

Whenever he feels his god isn't paying attention he hits his enemy with a crowbar

His nemesis is a lich known only as "THE UNDERTAKEN"

My wrestler idea:

Lester the Jester. Wears motley and facepaint (a different face each fight - usually a bad copy of the other's face or make up or whatever). Makes disparaging remarks about enemies, using puns (preferably really bad ones), copies enemies' signature moves, badly, to make fun of them.

"I put the IRE in SATIRE"

What?

Oh.
