DM Alexander Kilcoyne |

We have had to say a fond goodbye to our Cavalier Sir Edric Orlovsky as the player's work has firewalled off the Paizo forums, rendering him unable to post.
The game requires a fair amount of commitment, please do not apply unless your confident you'll generally be able to post more than once a day.
Lurkers on the game will be given highest priority as they will be most familiar with my style of DMing and whether their concept would fit well with the party. The game is approaching 2,000 posts and the remaining four players are all dedicated, frequent posters who play and RP exceptionally well.
The party are level 2, approaching level 3.
If you would like a chance to join a solid PbP Kingmaker game with a reliable DM, please submit the following details-
Apply with a concept only, race, class, personality, motivations, aspirations etc, put into a spoiler tag in a single post, for my ease of reference. I don't want to see any actual builds out there that you will have spent extra time on, that I have to then say no to. Oh, and an idea of what leadership role you will be gunning for will be nice too.
I am a very frequent poster, and do expect the same of any applicants. If you can't commit to at least checking on the game once a day and making a small post, this PBP won't be for you. I reserve the right to take your character's actions for you if I feel your character is holding up the game, and any long abscences (3 days or more) that have not been mentioned to me in advance will be looked on unfavourably.
The party size will be a party of five; you will be joining four existing players- a Human Bard/Fighter, a Tiefling Witch, a Gnome Heavens Oracle, and a Human Paladin of Iomedae.
I enjoy challenging combat, and i enjoy heavy RP. If your not a fan of both, best not to apply.
I tend to post late evening/night/early morning at GMT+0. I am UK based. PLEASE POST YOUR TIME ZONE IN GMT TERMS.
All base classes are legal concepts, as are the APG's- with the exception of the Alchemist and Summoner. I'm just not happy enough with those 2 classes, sorry.
I will be reviewing submissions and making my decision on who will join The Guardians of the Greenbelt on Monday evening with a view to introducing your character to the party mid-week sometime. I do not make decisions based on a first come first served basis, so take your time with your concept tomaximise your chances of winning the slot.

Zahara |

Well hello again.
Sofya wandered for years after that day, flirting with the city life she was forbidden to experience. More than anything she seeks to care for someone. To contribute. She secretly doubts her abilities, but is warm and goodhearted even if a bit awkward. She will definitely be more comfortable near the bottom rank in the pack.
I am definitely rp heavy but do enjoy combat as well. I am able to post at least twice per day, up to 4 most likely. Thank you again for your consideration.

Snafu Fubar |

OK
concept
A ranger originally from the border lands who went into service of the king.....
Like a half-orc ranger is expected to look including little concern for too much grooming, although takes care of his equipment, armor and weapons. hair often braided in rough dreadlocks
Ranger 2 /paladin 1 (once next level hits.)
the build would be similar to Snafu Fubar.....

Zahara |

Well that is embarrassing. In my defense, I did edit it in along with some more details...but my time was almost up and it must have timed out during my post, as I do not see it there either.
Apologies, I am GMT-6 but I am up late and wake early. There are several time slots for me to post all throughout the day. I am confident you will not be waiting on me.

Charisma |

Hello,
Would you be willing to bring in a noob? I can post once a day or more and I'm always lurking on the forums reading. I am new to Pbping though, and don't know much about Golarion. If you don't want to deal with that I understand.
I am in the EST Time zone (-5). Let me know if you are cool with bringing a newbie on and I can post to you my concept.
Thank you.

Race: Tiefling
Class Cavalier lvl 2
Desired Role: Ruler (So that his goals of whisking away the downtrodden of Brevoy may come to pass)
Best Role: Marshall (So that he can train new knights/cavaliers and uphold the law through might of arms if necessary)
Appearance and Personality:
If his appearance is a reflection of his personality then evil better find a new profession and stay the heck out of this guys way! Whenever this warrior charges into the field on his loyal destrier, its in full battle gear with well maintained, freshly polished banded-mail and a heavy lance bearing a wicked broad spade spear head. His Helm is engineered to allow his newly forming horns to protrude without discomfort. His destrier mirrors his ferocity clad in full scale-mail barding with an armored head piece, to protect its eyes, bearing a spiked point in imitation to that of a unicorn's horn.
As a new member of the Order of the Sword, he upholds its tenets to the letter and is willing to sacrifice himself to defend the innocent from harm and is known for recklessly charging into battle if he believes it will help his order succeed.
Now in his late teens early adulthood, his true heritage is starting to manifest itself and has caused this young cavalier endless grief. He is very self conscious of the changes occurring to his body and tries to distract himself by either maintaining his gear or training until he drops. Other then that he is a straight forward and honest individual who tries to live by his mentors ideals often quoting this motto "The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly." He learned this from an old cavalier named Jim Rohn. He is proud
of his training and skills, and has been eager to use them on 'the field' rather then training his days away in the practice yard.
In combat, he abhors using ranged weapons if possible and prefers to remain mounted and mobile when situations allow. His constant love for a good charge may come off as reckless but he is still drunk with the testosterone and vitality of youth. The only ranged weapon he will begrudgingly use is a horseman's bow (shortbow) that his tutor 'forced' him to train with so that he could become a more versatile horsemen.
Motivations and Aspirations:
After his body began to change he quickly fled to somewhere where he was less known for fear of bringing shame on those who adopted him years ago. Now that he is heading into the stolen lands he is wanting to prove himself in combat and show how his training has prepared him for taming a lawless land. Constantly reminded of his humble birth he is a driven to constantly advance and improve his surroundings. This attitude has always caused him to be saddened by the destitute and the downtrodden of Brevoy's society who are unable to move higher then their 'rank' allows, his true goal in the stolen land is to make a place where those who want to better themselves can come and make a fresh start, without being held down by the 'established order'. In a way its his way to make amends for being given a better life then those who didn't have a choice.

Merc Softfoot is aiming to become :
Merc had always lived in his small village near the Stolen Lands. Your small size never stopping you, since after all, what mattered was the big heart you had. You helped when you could and did best for everyone. Whole village knew you were firm believer of Erastil but they still had their own doubts of you.
Merc was nothing before actually. He did not excel at so many things and he found it hard to help others while you were being treated like kid just because of your size. All the while wandering around on your village and finally settling to keep a shop open (seems like this was only thing they expected him to able to do). One night, he woke up and heard scratching downstairs. Something was behind the door and the voice was small whining. Slowly moving and carefully opening the door, Merc look into darkness but can´t see anything in the light of lantern, until whining continues directly front of you... or rather front of your legs. A small puppy! Merc had no idea what this was but he could not leave it outside to cold.
Couple days passed and Merc had begun to feed the puppy. He never had any reason to question: why me? what is this puppy? how its still alive? He just simply adopted it fast and kept him. Time passed and the puppy started to grow up. Villagers started to talk about the puppy... how it was more canine than a dog, it was bigger than most of the dogs or even wolfes they had seen so far. Merc just passed all of this as it was normal. Kali was his and it was clearly happy, so they had no right to say what he could do.
More and more time passed and due to growing of Kali and its hunger as well need for excersice, Merc begun to move with it. In months they had become like a one mind. Moving together through the forest with easy, preying food for Kali and getting also nice new furs to shop, becoming together more with nature. Merc didn´t notice any of this or just simply didn´t care so much... but slowly the attitude of villagers started to change for some odd reason. Wherever Merc walked, Kali followed him but it was not this which changed everything. Rather the Merc himself. More confident with himself and the way he walked, observing his surroundings with sharp eyes and feeling of forest. Feeling of moisture and freshness of morning forest, taste of water to be more pure while sitting next to him, the serenity of misty mornings in valleys... Erastil had touched him.
Soon after one of his trips to forest, Merc found strange amulet on ground, just laying there. Being a sing to him, Merc decided it was his time to go and travel. Sse the other places and experience the true wilderness. That was the will of Erastil.

I have a character, Gorax only 1st level fighter, playing in another Kingmaker game, but unfortunately it's dying and slowed to an absolute crawl. I would really like to take him into a game that will move forward, please take a look at him to see if he would fit in.

I'd like to submit a character concept for consideration.
I'm GMT+1 and except for Wednesday-Friday next week, where I'll be attending meetings in London, I can post every day (working from home, so little chance of being fire-walled).

Malthir never had any doubts about their fate :) ...yes the swarm and take down is pretty effective for masses of relatively weak creatures against a heavily armored slowpoke...

If I was to blow my own trumpet about any part of DMing, it would be crafting encounters that leave players almost dead but (barely) victorious. Of course I could always slip up or the PC's might roll badly ;)

Thought I'd better pop the background for Gorax over to you Alex.
'Drink is the evil that makes devils of ordinary men'
'I'll look after you now, mother'
'How about you and me put down this steel and meet flesh to flesh outside'
Young, but large and brutish with a nose at an angle, typical of a boxer. He has large cauliflower ears, his black hair dirty and ragged is tied in a ponytail down to his shoulders. Under black bushy eyebrows, gray eyes peer out surrounded by scarred tissue. His hands in huge tarnished gauntlets look large and powerful. He wears a brown dirty, torn shirt over his chainmail. A longsword is hung by his side, it looks only slightly cleaner than the rest of him. On his back rests a shabby, but very study backpack. His head down, he lumbers across the courtyard, but at second glance, he seems much lighter on his feet than you would imagine.
Father was a drunkard and abused his mother. Gorax killed his father after his father came home drunk one day and started up again on his mother. The abuse meant he rarely did much at school, but was renowned for his strength. He doesn't like taverns or people that drink, especially to excess. He is of course tea total. He only goes in Taverns if he really needs to, preferring to stay outside, or even stay in the stable rather than take a room at the Inn. He has grown to understand that people go to meet in taverns for business, so knows he must enter sometimes.
The huge brute of a boy, has always been good with his fists, since he needed to use them to keep his father from hitting him as well. His siblings a younger brother and 2 sisters grew to rely on Gorax for protection.
He has found it difficult to keep a job with his views on alcohol. At the beginning, several tavern owners thought he would make a good bouncer, because he could be trusted not to drink. But more than one reveller has been severely injured after drinking too much and suffered at Gorax's hands. Drinkers started to stay away from Taverns where he was stationed.
He tried his hand at the city militia/guard, but even they thought his attitude too much to handle, so he was asked to leave. They did however managed to teach him the the way of the sword and shield. He is now proud of his skills handling weapons, but you can't beat a good punch-up.
He as had a go at prize fighting, where he started to do well, but he didn't loose when he was told to. Which meant several important men lost a lot of money in gambling on his fights.
Now all that seems left is to go off so seek work anywhere that is offering. Gorax has heard that the Pathfinders often require 'protectors' for the teams are given exacting tasks to accomplish. He thinks, a good fist can always help them on their way, so seeks his first engagement.
At school, several boys/girls befriended Gorax, as he would provide protection. For despite his strength and size Gorax was not a bully, and always seemed to want to protect the weaker folks.

Here is my concept. If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer any.
Thank you.
Class: Sorcerer [Arcane Bloodline] lvl 2
Desired Role: Magistor or Councilor
Best Role: Magister [She would be at the forefront of the dealings with the arcane and train apprentices]
AP Trait: Bastard
Other Trait: Reactionary
Appearance:
She garners a very tall and lengthy figure but is very gorgeous albeit her height being nearly six feet tall. Her complexion is a honest Varisian olive hue adorned with dark brown eyes and long dark hair just like her mother. An alluring red robe trickled with gold lacing and fancy embroidery fit her well, accentuating her feminine figure in the most tasteful way. On her left hip, she carries a small hardcover tome that slings around her right shoulder. The tome is leather-bound and has a large locking mechanism on the front. It bears some kind of seal but it is even unknown to her.She carries a large stick, a glaive to be exact, that is about as tall as she is. On her person is other random gear and personables.
Personality:
She is a very light hearted person, choosing to usually tone down the seriousness of even the most dire of situations even if in her own mind. A very open minded person, she likes to believe there is always two sides to a coin and would usually take the time to take in both view points. Although, she does believe in some kinda karmic code, she tends to do whats good in her own heart and mind, making her lawful neutral.
Sometimes there is a panache for being very sarcastic, growing up with a wizard who always liked to play word or head games with her stuck with her throughout her childhood and young adult hood. She has a very deep appreciation for intellectuals, having been raised by one, she adores conversation and debates.
Motivations and Aspirations:
Having been raised by an "Uncle" who was a moderately skilled wizard, she always felt the line of disconnection with him. She knows she is a bastard child but knows nothing much of her mother other than what her Uncle Daveric spoke of. There is a yearning to find out if her mother is still alive and possibly find her if she is. There's also that curiosity about who her real father is and why she was abandoned. Daveric meeting an untimely death, owed one of the Swordlords a boon, and when he died the Swordlord wanted to collect. Thus, asking/intimidating her to venture to the Stolen Lands with another group of adventurers. There was also talk of a small reward of information pertaining to her mother, if she followed through. With the taking back of the Stolen Lands and its eventual colonization, she hopes to come into some prestige in hopes to gain enough clout to put time and effort into these mysteries of her life.

nice concept there charisma =) although i didn't think of any campaign traits to add in their for flavor >.<;
I tried looking up alot of my cavaliers info from actual facts on the barding, horses and lances of medieval knights. Although i had to keep it confined to a second lvl budget xD.
Thanks for your comment Rin. Im pretty new to Pathfinder and Pbping but not roleplaying but your comment boosted my confidence regarding the game. I was afraid my concept might be too...dull.

Thats the same boat i'm in, i've been trying to get into a pbp but my timezone makes it difficult and my job as well lol. But I just got into one sandbox styled RP and another one is starting up with Zahara as the lead~ we'll see how far both of them go, i'm very hopeful for a long RP and fun. I was in one that never got off the ground so we win some and lose some.
Bein'Meleth Rámalóce, above is my submission and alot of the concepts i've seen so far are really good as well. I liked the details in yours immensely and enjoy reading everyone else's as well. I love to see how other people write, think and create~
Good luck nonetheless it can take a LONG time to get into a Pbp but i will say Alexander is among the best i've seen in my lurking about the forums =)
Disclaimer: I'm not sucking up :p, i just call it as i see it, he is an extremely organized and crafty DM.
If this disrupts the thread i'll move this conversation somewhere else sorry ^^;

Here is my concept.
I am GMT 0 and will be able to post frequently during the day and evening.
Human Barbarian 1 / Fighter 1
Background:
In the end it took three house armsmen to drag Corwin of his half-brother. It took another two to beat him into submission. The end tally was impressive: three broken ribs, 2 broken fingers, one lost tooth and a mass of bruises. To Corwin it seemed more than a fair trade. Not just because he managed to spread Alexey's perfect patrician nose across his face, although that provided undeniable satisfaction. No. What was worth it was seeing the fear in his eyes when Corwin took him by the throat. What was worth it was the knowledge shared between them (and everyone else in the room) that if the guards had been just a half step slower Corwin would have killed him.
Afterwards they dragged him in chains before his father. Baron Vladamir Surtova. Warrior. War-leader. Second cousin to a King. The great hall was otherwise empty. The servants cleared from what most considered would be an execution. The Baron sat, back ramrod straight, in his lord's seat. The seat from which he proclaimed judgement.
Corwin expected some emotion from the man. Anger certainly. Disgust. Disdain. But there was none when he spoke. "You are no son of mine. You are an animal. Begone from my house".
Three short sentances. Fourteen words. The only words his father had ever spoken to him. He found himself laughing. They were an acknowledgement of sorts. And at least he'd have no touble remembering them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Corwin was five when his mother brought him to the manor and left him there. He never saw or heard from her again. He bore her no ill will. Even at that age he understood that in life you did what you had to. And he was just glad to have a full belly.
Initially he didn't understand. The pointed fingers, the whispered comments and before long the jibes. A five year old doesn't know the meaning of bastard. But it didn't take long to realise that he was treated differently from everyone else and that meant little good. The Baron already had seven true born children by three seperate wives. Four true born sons. He had no interest or regard for a dirty urchin boy born of his shame. Corwin for his part learnt valuable lessons in patience and endurance.
For the most part his half brothers and sisters took their cues from the Baron and simply ignored him. That he didn't mind. But Alexey, his elder by three years, seemed to regard his very existence as an affront that could only be eased by continual torment. That was much worse. Of his "family" his only regard was for his sister Elspeth. Shy and bookish she used to joke that he coudn't really be of Surtova blood he was too nice. It was Elspeth that taught him to read and write although she threw her hands up in mock despair at his ill formed script. She dressed his bruises and scratches from fighting with the servant's children and those caused by Alexey's "jokes". Once after Alexey thought it would be amusing to light his bedding on fire she actually went before the Baron to plead for intervention. He loved her for that alone. When Corwin was eleven she left to marry a Garess. After watching her ride out for the last time he hid and cried for the only time in his life.
At twelve the castellan informed him that he would be trained as Alexey's page and then squire. This was both blessing and curse. Long hours spent cleaning every piece of rust from Alexey's gear was the later. Martial training was the former. At first it was merely an outlet. An opportunity for Corwin to take out his frustrations, his rage, on training dummy or hapless sparring partner. But he soon grew to love the bustle of the yard: the ring of steel and iron. Olav, a veteran seargent at arms sensed great potential in the boy and Corwin was a sponge eagerly taking in all he would teach of arms and tactics. While he tried it soon became apparent that he was rubbish with a sword. Parry and cut. Block and risposte. It didn't feel right. Ironically, it was Alexey who suggested he take up the greataxe. A bastard's weapon for a bastard he said. But he was right. After years of training the axe didn't just feel good: it sang in his hands.
The academic side of his training was less successful. Neither heraldry, geography nor any of the other more specialist skills for which Surtova is well known held any interest for Corwin. If it didn't involve fighting, hunting or the history of battles he didn't want to know and his teachers soon gave up when they realised noone really cared what the boy knew as long as he carried out his duties.
At nineteen he met Caitlyn. Beautiful. Head strong. Noble. She wasn't his first but one smile from her carriage and he was smitten. If life was a story she may have run away with him as he begged. But life is not a story and a noble daugher of Surtova would never marry a bastard. A month later she was betrothed to his brother Grigori.
Physical provocations from Alexey had decreased as Corwin found his full size and strength to be replaced with ongoing verbal ones. But a serious clash was always inevitable. It started from something small: a misplaced sword that Alexey demanded Corwin produce. Corwin replied that he just might locate the sword stuck some ways up his arse provided that he first prepare a few torches to provide light. Alexey, angered, spitefully replied that he expected no less course an insult from a mongrel, bastard son of a worthless whore.
Corwin had heard and endured worse in fourteen years. Indeed much worse. But this time, this moment something deep in side of him snapped. His carefully constructed walls of patience disintegrated. A red film descended over his vision. Without a word he lept a table and did his level best to kill his brother with his bare hands.
He was cast out with nothing more than the clothes on his back, forced to take heavy work in town just to earn enough coin just to survive. But he endured. For two years he wandered the length and breadth of Brevoy and its surrounds taking whatever work he could find along the way. Fighting mostly, a man who knows how to use an axe is always handy and he was seldom picky as to his employers motives as long as the pay was good. As he went he honed his skills. Sometimes the anger, the red film, would come back in the heat of combat and he would bezerk not knowing friend from foe. Unsuprisingly this habit earnt him few friends and he realised he needed to get it under control.
It took another year. A year much spent in frustration but he learnt to bring on and stop the rage (mostly) and even use it to his advantage with his axework. But even having achieved the measure of control over himself he sought he found life hollow and began to perceive, at the intuitive level that he made all decisions, that he needed to find a purpose, something worthy of fighting for.
It was in Restov that he heard a herald cry news and post a proclamation telling of charters for the exploration and pacification of the Stolen Lands. Later he pulled the proclamation down and stashed it under his shirt to read later by the light of his campfire. Bah he thought. There is nothing there to explore but dirt, trees and monsters. A fool's errand for fools. He threw the parchment in the fire. But later, as sleep refused to take him, its contents nagged at him. He imagined a brand new land, fresh, clean. No nobles to take a man's life and suck it dry. A land of promise and promises. A place where one could start over, be anything, no, be anyone. Perhaps he could be a part of it, pledge his axe to the people the proclamation spoke of and fight to create and perseve it? With an axe in his hand he was as good as any man. Why not take a chance? What did he have to lose? In the morning he scraped together his possessions and set out for the Greenbelt.
Personality:
Socially Corwin is sometimes ill-equipped although he is keenly intuitive. Outwardly he is often sharp and sarcastic. Inwardly he searches for something greater than himself and if he finds it his loyalty will be iron. He has two sides often in conflict: the careful, cany fighter and the reckless barbarian. Strong emotion tends to bring out the later although he has worked hard to bring that side of himself under control. In battle he is almost suicidally brave. His background has led to a morality that is somewhat fluid but he is never mean or cruel.
Traits:
Bastard (no really), Bullied.
Notes:
Noble house is transferable of course. I thought Surtova would be interesting given they are already established as campaign baddies and the reveal of his background could provide neat RP.
Leadership roles would be general/warden.

** spoiler omitted **...
Liking the concept, but it would have to be a different noble house- House Surtova is doing things a little differently to the book version in my game, and I wouldn't want your character slaughtered by the other PC's lol.

Traine: male, human, ranger {beastmaster archetype).
Description: Traine is a young human male. He is very muscular, and at 6 feet tall stands over most of the folks he meets. He is wearing a chain shirt, barely visible under his explorer's outfit that is colored in browns and greens. He has a falchion on his hip, and a longbow strung over his shoulder. That along with is pack and pouch, makes him look like a man who is ready for anything. However, his open friendly smile belays the somberness of his clothing.
Biography: The Journal of Traine, started whilst traveling to the Greenbelt area of the Stolen Lands, at the suggestion of my last master.
Greetings to any reading this journal. I am Traine, a Ranger in the service of Desna. Originally I am from Longpoint, a village along the western coast line of the Aspo Bay in Andorian, and was known as Traine dan Torcan (Train son of Torc). If you find this journal, it means that I am dead. Please try and return it to my father.
My story begins in my 16th year, and as normal for our village I begain training in the ways of hunting the accursed Saughin that raided our small village during the summer season. I have been blessed by Desna and became quite good at tracking, finding, approaching stealthly and finally killing these beasts that hunted our village. By my 18th birthday, I was in charge of a patrol that scoured the shoreline for them, and my father asked me to take my younger brother Carl, who had just turned 16, with me and teach him our ways. This I refused for two reasons, brothers should not train brothers, it just doesn' t work, and more importantly, Carl was not suited for the woods. He had learned to sing and play the flute. He even had learned a magic trick or two, so he should have spent his time performing in the taverns or gone on to the big city and worked there and I told da as much. Well, da was not to be denied, and Carl was sent out with another patrol, and only the leader and 1 other man returned. Eight of our young men died, including Carl. Myself and two other patrols were dispatched and we caught up with the Saughin group and destroyed them, but never recovered all the bodies including Carls. My da never forgave me and turned me out so I left to explore the world.
Since then, I have traveled to many lands, including the great city of Absalom, which led me to understand that I don't like cities, Osirion, where I learned to use this falchion quite well, and back to Varisia where I finished my apprenticeship. I am now headed to the Greenbelt region as I have heard that the Lords of Restov are attempting to settle the land, and perhaps my skills will be useful.
Leadership role: Marshall or Warden

Dan E wrote:Liking the concept, but it would have to be a different noble house- House Surtova is doing things a little differently to the book version in my game, and I wouldn't want your character slaughtered by the other PC's lol. Here is my concept.
I am GMT 0 and will be able to post frequently during the day and evening.
** spoiler omitted **...
Not a problem. There isn't much information on the houses in the campaign guide or player's guide (and I haven't read or played the AP) but I think any traditional Issian house would work as well. Orlansky seems a bad idea. Garess maybe? If that works for you consider it subbed.

Orlovsky would be overkill as the player we're having to let go was Orlovsky as is the witch.
In my game, the tension between the houses has become somewhat a game of thrones- Unofficially, house Surtova seems to know something's going on down in the greenbelt. They had an agent steal the seal of House Orlovsky in a plot to kill key agents of the house involved in the greenbelt, such as Sir Edric Orlovsky (PC). Tensions between the Swordlords and Surtova are particularily tense, but all subterfuge is done under a masquerade of politeness and public denial of any confessions extracted from caught agents.
Orlovsky has essentially allied with the Swordlords and two of the current PC's are agents of Orlovsky- although one will either be returningto Orlovsky due to the intensity of the intrigue lately or he will be killed in battle before he can get back.
Some of the other houses could potentially work-
House Garess has been mostly neutral so far.
House Lebeda has strong ties to Surtova (so unlikely to go on any mission that would aid the Swordlords).
House Lodovka has not publicly or privately declared, although they seem to accept the authority of Surtova for now. Lord Kozek Lodovka is a crafty sort, and its quite likely hes the kind to back both horses in a conflict so I could see them sending someone to assist the Swordlords to streamline a potential alliance some day.
With their neighbours Orlovsky having refused to accept the authority of Surtova, House Medvyed may be tempted to secretly assist the Swordlords to placate Orlovsky- not only that but they are strong fans of wilderness and Old Deadeye- both prevalent elements in the Greenbelt.
if you can get access to the first book theres a nice relatively spoiler free section on each house there.

Hi,
I'm throwing my hat in as well with Kalan Darkfangs an outcast lion shaman druid looking for a place where he could be accepted as he is.
He could be either Marshal or Royal Assassin
Character concept: Kalan Darkfangs, Outcast Human Lion Shaman (APG Druid Version)
Deep within the Verduran Forest, a mad Druid had decided to create the perfect leader for the small village he was planning to take over. Twenty years ago, he kidnapped a pregnant woman in the village and submitted her to foul rituals to bound her unborn kid to a tiger spirit. A week later, the woman was found by the remaining villagers, mindless, wandering aimlessly in the forest. She never recovered and died during childbirth as the druid had planned. However, the ritual had failed, awaking the panther spirit too early and instead of a were-tiger, a horribly deformed child was born. Hunchback with powerful shoulders, pre-eminent jams and long arms, he was rejected by the whole village as well as his father and would have been abandoned in the woods if an old childless woman had not raised him. Indeed, the failed ritual had not escaped the attention of the forest council of Druids who took the necessary steps to remove the mad Druid and get the child properly raised.
As a kid, Kalan suffered from his appearance and learnt to fight back and intimidate people before they could turn on him. More at ease in the surrounding forest, he discovered a stange link with cats of all sorts that would follow him and watch him everywhere he went. One of them, a young tiger came to befriend him and became his companion. When her stepmother, died, his father, now married to another woman and aiming for the village council managed to get him expelled from the village by convincing the other villagers Kalan was going to turn into a rogue beast at some point.
Knowing he had no future in this village, Kalan left without fighting and set off in search of a place where he could be accepted. Travelling north with Brighteyes, his tiger, he arrived in the Greenbelt range where everything was possible. His main goal is to find a community where he could be accepted and where he could live without being frowned at. For that, he is ready to do everything.
Of a placid nature, Kalan is soft spoken and quiet unless he is looked down because of his appearance. In that case, he is prone to anger and will try to intimidate people and make them regret their words. He will only use physical violence at the last resort, but will not hesitate to do so once set on his path. As he wants to integrate, he will follow the law at his best and frown upon those who try to bend it.
To finish, my time zone is GMT+1 and I can usually post early morning or midday and late evening.

Do you use the tiefling traits from the Pathfinder CoT AP?
If so I could provide a roll up of different abilities because that AP offers up some very neat options to explore.
Just an idea I thought of. Something I can remember for future concepts whether or not i'm accepted for this one. =)
I'm going to be at a doctors appointment today and may be tied up so to speak. I will try and check periodically whenever I can to see what happens here while i'm away.
Thanks bud =)

Further to my character:
Kalev was walking down the path towards Oleg’s, leading his horse after him. The large, brown mare was laden with pelts and skins, evidence of a successful foray into the wilds. Kalev had had the old mare, whom he lovingly called Babiska, since he left the small village of his birth, it having previously belonged to his mother and her husband before they died.
It had been some weeks since he was last at the trading post and he always looked forward to Svetlana’s cooking. And to the company, uncomplicated as it was here on the frontier. No one cared about his bloodline. No one judged him for something he had no power to change. No, they judged him on his abilities as a hunter, and he was quite good, knowing as much about the lay of the land as anyone else and able to hunt most animals, except for the legendary Tuskgutter. The other trappers and hunters, few as they were at any given time, also seemed to accept him as an equal, though he wouldn’t go so far as to call them friends.
Kalev pushed the thoughts aside, not wanting to be reminded of his childhood filled with beatings and scorn. Instead he pushed his thoughts to the news he had heard from Janosk, one of the other hunters, he had met a few days ago on the trail. While sharing a meal and a bit of ale, Janosk had mentioned a group of adventurers or mercenaries, called the Guardians of the Greenbelt or some such, chartered by the Swordlords to explore the Stolen lands. Apparently, they were a group of able warriors, if nothing else, having defeated the old boar. Kalev still recalled the apparent tall tale told by Janosk at the fire two nights ago...
”I tell you, that woman, Kressle, charged the boar barehanded and gave it a sound trashing, by the accounts of it. Filled the beast with terror, that woman did, like she did to so many other men before,” Janosk had said. They had both chuckled at that and raised a glass. Kavel had heard stories of the woman, who’d quickly risen in ranks in the ragtag army of the Stag Lord. He’d even caught a glimpse of her once in the wild, though he hoped she didn’t know, as she’d been bathing in a stream at the time, when Kavel had stumbled upon the scene while tracking a Thylacine through the forest. ”Yes, she is a...special woman, that one. What happened to her? Is she still breathing?” Kalev had asked. ”Yes, I believe so. There was a trial at Oleg’s, but the Guardians put in good words for her. She was lashed and sentenced to recover Svetlana’s wedding band, but other than that, she’s a free woman...or was when I last left the trading post,” Janosk had recounted.
Something had sparked in Kalev’s chest at the stories, half of which were probably tall tales, of their accomplishments and their compassion. Perhaps in this group, he could find someone to call friend, with whom he could share a bond of comradery and belonging and who would look beyond his heritage as they had looked beyond Kressle’s past.
Full of energy and hope, he reached the final hilltop before Oleg’s Trading Post.
Appearance: Muscular and broad-shouldered with long, unkempt dark hair tied into several strands. Slight greenish tint and stong jaw with just a hint of canines. Carries light hide armor, a longspear, greataxe and a hunter's bow.
Traits: Pioneer and most likely Bullied
Role: Most likely Warden or Marshal

I generally allow them, I like to check them on a case-by-case basis though.

Thanks for the submissions all, I enjoyed reading them. Bruno, your in, with Dan E next in line for a slot should I lose another player. I'll keep you all in mind if a space opens up in any of my other gamestoo- previous applicants tend to have an advantage when applying as I know your reliable etc.
Bruno you can get my MSN from Jacob, we'll try to work you in the next time the party go to Oleg's (won't be long, they just had their first character death!)

I guess this means it is too late to submit....
I had thought I had time to post my concept this morning, even given the time difference for "Monday evening".
Oh well, guess I should have posted yesterday.
Have fun Bruno! You have joined an awesome PBP! I'll have to be content with lurking I guess.
Cheers!
