Rules Questions

Simple question that will probably use more interpretation as a firm knowledge of rules.

Can I create something with Prestigitation that bears my form? (statue of mud)

Can I create something with Arcane Mark that bears my face? (mark is my face with a big grin)

Also a question about the range of that spell, am I correct that every image of me has to be within 50ft/casterlvl ? I'm a bit confused because the spell says there could be thousands of things to hear? Does hearing 1000 conversations is more difficult?

thanks in advance

I would like to bump this. My character's face is on wanted characters all across the planet, so the question of how close an image needs to be is very relevant.

Well, this is real old, but I'm bored at work, so...

Prestidigitation is very low powered magic, so while you might be able to hold a rough form of yourself while concentrating on it, I would say it loses form immediately when you stop.

Arcane Mark is similarly limited in scope, and were I your DM, the short answer would be no, but the Instant Portrait spell would be fine.

As I interpret it, you are correct in that all likenesses to be sensed or possessed would need to be within the 50'/lvl range.

While I doubt that any of this is timely enough to help... here it is anyway. meh

Happy Gaming!

As a note, Prestidigitation has a duration of one hour. No concentration involved. The mud statue (if allowed) lasts for an hour, then dissolves to mud on the ground, table, etc.

  • Objects created with Prestidigitation look "crude and artificial". So unless your character looks crude and artificial too, it won't be much of a likeness.
  • An Arcane Mark can be "no more than six characters". Now you could interpret a "character" as your PC, but that's quite a stretch of the language.
