Is listed as only having Scent(Rather than Low-Light Vision and Scent) in it's Special Qualities entry. I'm assuming this is an error(printing error, etc).
I've yet to find an animal in the Beastiary that doesn't have low light vision.
If it's not an error, what is the reason for Wolf animal companions only having scent?

I cannot assume it is an error as all the online documents indicate that they indeed do not have low-light as well. In addition there was an errata specifically about sharks, and both types of snakes having low light vision while there was no mention of the wolf in either document, and I highly doubt they would miss this identical "error" repeatedly for almost a year.
As for your why... I don't know really, maybe it is because it is a because they end up with as a large size companion (Can be ridden as a mount) and gets a VERY nice stat adjustment at level 7 (+8 Str, -2 Dex, +4 Con) and a free trip.

Is it possible to get an offical answer on this?
I mean seriously, how does this work? Mr. Wolf comes to the druid with low-light vision but then loses it during the transformation into an animal companion?
The point of an animal companion is to get the actual animal, not an animal with missing parts.

animal companions are wildly different from normal animals. they ONLY get whats listed. the animal companion wolf doesnt "lose" low light vision, it never "gets" it.
edit:actually low light vision is part of the animal type special qualities. looks like it has it after all

The official entry for the wolf has low light vision. I would assume it is a typo according to the entry fo animal all animals get low light vision.
The very last paragraph under animal companion before the stat blocks implies you should use the bestiary version for special abilities and traits.
"The animal companions listed here are by no means
the only ones available—additional animal companion
types can be found in the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary. Some
of the special attacks and qualities possessed by animals
are covered in more detail there as well."
Smacks of a gloss-over.

As per current errata which has ALREADY COVERED animals that previously did not have low-light vision in older versions the wolf animal companion does NOT have low-light vision.
I can see no reason why to assume that it is errata seeing as how they went out of their way to correct 3 other different companions in this exact manner but left wolf out.
Official word from the current RAW and errata files is that the wolf companion does not have low-light vision.

except it has it by default because it has the animal type. unless it doesn't have the animal type. RAW animals have low light vision. end of story.
unless animal companions aren't of the animal type.
even if they are considered magical beasts that still gives low light vision

Then if you apply the animal type animal companions cannot get more than 2 int. Normal rules do no apply to animal companions, they are built from the ground up using the rules outlined in class sections and their specific stat blocks. They are the exception to the rule in every case and must be treated as such.
General Rules < Specific Rules
In fact it even states that animal companions only remain creatures of the animal type for spells that would affect them right on the page 51.
...They remain creatures of the animal type for purposes of determining which spells can affect them.
The only reason for this sentence to exist is to indicate that they in fact do NOT posses the animal type.

Does it say what type animal companions are? other than constantly being referenced as animals, it doesnt say what their type is. Are they the only typless creature?

They don't appear to have a type. It doesn't appear to make too much sense to me either but I would simply consider them of the companion type at this point.
Looking at the familiar section it indicates that familiars are considered Magical Beasts for the purpose of all effects that depend on type.
Considerably different wording but alike in the fact that neither actually grant the creature said type and the qualities of them.
Personally I don't understand it myself but as far as answering a rules answer as best I can with the actual RAW and material provided including errata documents, I cannot back any other position than companions being of some strange non-type creature and wolves being at a lack of low-light vision.

Errata:
Page 54
In the Animal Choices section, under the Shark
description, add “low-light vision” to the list of Special
Qualities in the first paragraph. Make the same addition
to the Snake, Constrictor and Snake, Viper descriptions.
They made no change to wolves during two sweeps.
Animal companions are unique animals and would not automatically get any special qualities. If you feel this is an error, you can flag the message FAQ

You are wrong. The normal animal rules absolutely do apply to animal companions except where it specifically says otherwise.
Your argument is self-defeating. The general rule is that all animals have an intelligence of 2. The more specific animal companion rules, however, say that an animal companion is the exception to that rule.
Seems to follow the core of your logic just fine.
There is no specific overriding rule that says wolf animal companions do not get low-light vision, so they do (they are still animals).

Thank you. I was going to go ahead and house rule it if this was not the "offical" case.
