Ok, I'm bored. So let's rank the iconics based on attractiveness. Do just the females, just the males, both in two lists, or one master list for both sexes...whatever floats your boat.
I'll do the girls:
1 Feiya
2 Amiri
3 Lini
4 Seoni
5 Alahazra
6 Merisel
7 Keyra
8 Imrijka
9 Seela
PS: The Magus needs to be a half-elf. They don't have a representative yet.

1 Feiya
2 Amiri
3 Lini
4 Seoni
5 Alahazra
6 Merisel
7 Keyra
8 Imrijka
9 Seela
See now, I have a problem. I don't know all their names to match with their pictures. These are the ones I think I know:
Human Witch - Feiya
Human Barbarian - Amiri
Gnome Druid - Lini
Human Sorcerer - Seoni
Human Oracle - Alahazra
Elf Rogue - Merisel
Half-Orc Inquisitor - Imrijka
I don't know these two at all, though I do know they are the Human Cleric and the Human Paladin:
Keyra
Seela
It seems to me that we have too many humans here (6 out of 9) when you have 7 races to illustrate. It would have been nice to have an iconic male and an iconic female of each race for a total of 14. After all, we have 11 core class iconics, 1 prestige class iconic, and 6 new base class iconics with another 1 on the way for a total of 19 iconics. One would think we could have gotten a male and female of each race somewhere along the way. Oh well. What's done is done.

It makes you wonder if female dwarves really exist.
I've been hearing that since 1982 and it just isn't cool anymore. ;)
I want to see a real female dwarf sans beard depicted in art as an iconic. I have seen them in a couple of WotC books, but I would like it if one was done up as an iconic; and an appealing or attractive one at that.
I don't know if they could pull it off, but it might even be nice if the artist tried to give her some sex appeal while they were at it. Maybe then we could figure out WHY dwarves propagate because I don't understand it as it stands right now. Long hair on the wrong part of the head, an attractive paramour does not make. ;)
Which race/class iconic is Ezren?

The Wraith |

My personal ranking for the female iconics is:
1) Seoni
2) Feiya AND Alahazra
3) Amiri
4) Merisiel
5) Kyra AND Lini
6) Seela
7) Imrijka (or whatever it is spelled :D )
Yes, I have a lot of ex aequo in my rankings.
Now, if Feiya had possessed red hair... well, that would have led to a different top position :D

Ashanderai |

I'll rank the girls by attractiveness, too, since I haven't done that in this thread yet (obviously, I have done my research now, since I can call most of them by name now):
1 Seoni, Human Sorcerer (Any icon with such a hot, real-life woman modeling her gets to be number 1 any day. If I considered only the artwork - I just can't ignore Veronic Fay/Jenny Poussin's modeling work as Seoni in order to do that, though - Seoni would rank number 2 and Feiya would advance to number 1.)
2 Feiya, Human Witch (Very hot; just my type - if my type were white-haired witches. But, she has the attitude and physique to make her my type, whether I want her to be or not)
3 Alahazra, Human Oracle (Very exotic and sensuous-looking with an attitude to overcome any disability)
4 Merisel, Elf Rogue (I don't normally go for pale, rail-thin women, but she can make it work for her well.)
5 Kyra, Human Cleric (Something really exotic in those eyes that makes you wonder what its like under the chainmail)
6 Amiri, Human Barbarian (An amazon-like, savage woman always wins points enough to place well)
7 Seelah, Human Paladin (Seems kind of plain to me, but she could probably make me regret ranking her here if she posed in something besides that plate armor)
8 Imrijka, Half-Orc Inquisitor (If we toned back the sickly green color of her skin and filed down those chompers I could really go for her, but as it is she scares me.)
9 Lini, Gnome Druid (If I ranked her any higher I would feel like someone who should be arrested.)
Since I don't think I am qualified to rate how attractive the males are, I will rate them on how I like the style of their "look", or how cool I think they look (but, I only know Ezren's name at the moment):
1 Seltyiel, Half-Elf Eldritch Knight
2 Damiel, Elf Alchemist (I know he is schizophrenic nerd, but he is a cool-looking, schizophrenic nerd.)
3 Sajan, Human Monk (Even I have to admit the guys has the abs to make his outfit work for him.)
4 Harsk, Dwarf Ranger (His look is too intimidating to rank any lower.)
5 Ezren, Human Wizard (Stylish dresser)
6 Alain, Human Cavalier (Also stylish, if too arrogant)
7 Valeros, Human Fighter (A little plain compared to the others)
8 Name Unknown, Gnome Summoner (Points for sporting his own, unique style, but it looks to goofy to qualify as cool)
9 Lem, Halfling Bard (He looks like a Medieval band-camp reject to me.)

Females
1) Alahazra (Oracle)
2) Feiya (Witch)
3) Merisiel (Rogue)
4) Amiri (Barbarian)
5) Seoni (Sorcerer)
6) Lini (Druid)
7) Seelah (Paladin)
8) Kyra (Cleric)
9) Imrijka (Inquisitor)
Yes, I stuck Seoni in the middle, she just seems to be trying too hard for my tastes. Let the nerd rage begin. :)
I really do like Alahazra and Feiya, they both fit their concepts so well, and the art is outstanding. Merisiel has that 'otherworldly' vibe going, and Amiri is just so darn cute (honestly, the artist is really gifted to pull of cute and muscled at the same time). Lini's also got the 'cute' thing going, but that 3 foot tall thing is a point against her. Seelah and Kyra are just so stern looking, and their equipment is not designed nor intended to be sexual, so that hurts them too. I love the artwork for Imrijka, and I think she's a perfect inquisitor iconic, but she's just a little to bestial for me.
I'm secure enough in my heterosexuality that I feel comfortable listing the male iconics in order of handsomeness, I'm not exactly the best person to comment on hotness though. :)
1) Alain (Cavalier)
2) Valeros (Fighter)
3) Damiel (Alchemist)
4) Sajan (Monk)
5) Ezren (Wizard)
6) Seltyiel (Eldritch Knight)
7) Harsk (Ranger)
8) Lem (Bard)
9) Balazar (Summoner)
Valeros would have been #1 prior to the APG, but Alain has a more clean-cut look to him, while still retaining the 'dangerous slightly bad boy' vibe. Damiel also pulls off that daring rake look and attitude. Sajan is too serious, but still has youth and a fit body on his side. Ezren of course has the 'distinguished gentleman' thing going for him, kind of like Harrison Ford. Seltyiel has the 'Really Bad Dangerous Boy' vibe going for him, plus his only remaining competition is a rank looking dwarf, a short hairy footed jokester, and a really gnarly looking hairy faced gnome.

mdt wrote:Alain has a more clean-cut look to him, while still retaining the 'dangerous slightly bad boy' vibe.Have you read his "Meet the Iconics" ? It's more of a 'dangerous extremely repugnant jerkass who would just as soon send you to your death as look at you' vibe.
I was not aware the discussion was 'who's got the best personality', but 'who's got the best looks'.
And no, I didn't. :) Makes it easier to be objective when judging purely on looks. :)

However, the tusks on the other hand are a bit much for me.
It's the shade of green I don't like. I could handle a darker green just fine.

Nods in understanding.
I feel the same way about some of the aliens in Star Wars artwork. The girls with the long brain tentacles on their heads (can't remember the species). Grey and blue and green are all fine, but the red ones make me think more of splotchy feverish skin.

I actually want to see a female dwarf iconic. You just never see one of those around...
It makes you wonder if female dwarves really exist.
My wife has a female dwarf warrior in WoW, but warriors just aren't that fun to level up, so she doesn't get played much. Even in WoW, female dwarves are rare.

BTW: Speaking of iconics and attractiveness, anyone else catch the picture of Amiri in the APG where the spiders are crawling on her? It looks like her from the neck down, but the face has this bizzarro alternate Amiri vibe. Not close to her appearance (especially since I can't see her screaming over a few spiders like a scared schoolgirl).
Honestly I only recognized her by her outfit. Maybe it's supposed to be her weaker wussier older sister?

Only effeminate male dwarfs with shorter beards. Everyone knows this. They raise their children from rare underground magic mushrooms. Thats why dwarfs stink.

Rest easy. The Paizo folks have said their female dwarves absolutely don't grow beards.
If you're looking for female dwarf art, there's the badass lady towards the back of the Seekers of Secrets book, and this cheerful lady from Gamemastery Guide.

Twi'leks.
I take the Skittles approach. I appreciate the entire rainbow, so to speak.

Yeah, Twi'leks. I was having a frozen brain day.
As to the art work above, I thought that was a chubby gnome girl or chubby halfling girl. She doesn't really strike me as a dwarf.
