Does anybody know if there are any Pathfinder apps for the iPad? For the iPod Touch and iPhone, too, I guess, but the iPad screen is a fantastic size.
iPad character sheets?
iPad rules sets?
iPad character GENERATORS?
They would make such a fantastic addition to the game. Ease of having a single electronic sheet in front of you without the bulk of a laptop.
Please tell me there are apps available, or at least in the making.

This might be useful. Haven't tried it myself as I only got an iPhone...

I'm author of the app named PFR. It contains the OGL part of the Pathfinder Reference Document. Browseable, searchable and bookmarable.
This app runs best on iPhone and iPod touch, but I just submitted v1.6 to Apple for approval (which usually takes about a week) and this upcoming version is iPad-enabled, meaning it looks really nice on the iPad!
There is another thread dedicated to discussing the PFR app, in case your interested.

Don't get me wrong I salute anyone trying to bring Pathfinder awsesomeness to the Ipad and I will admit I know nothing about coding for the Ipad, that being said I have a problem with the concept of paying $5 for a program that essentially just gives you the pathfinder srd website in an IPAD friendly format.

I don't have a problem with it. I'm happy to see people compensated for their time, trouble, and investment. It's not like you can develop and post apps to the Apple Store for free.

I reference http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ on my iPad during the game. Very handy! Not an app, of course, but still useful. :)

I felt the same way so I avoided the app but finally broke down and bought it. I have never regretted it. I find that I am MUCH faster looking up rules or spell effects or whatever than someone with the book.

I happily just purchased this because I don't have the 3G model of the iPad and it saves me having to convert it all to PDF, create bookmarks in that PDF, etc.

We are hoping the Character Folio meets the need. Still under development, though we have some beta copies out and about. Aiming for a late July/August release (so I can use it at GenCon) but could go a little sooner. We'll have Savage Worlds in there as well at launch and then continue to add sheets as we can. We also have a GM Folio in the works and some smaller products for other rpgs (CoC!) on the roadmap.
Thoughts? Ideas? I'll be coming back around and seeing if there are any interested beta testers in the near future.

I noticed the Character Folio earlier today and bookmarked the website. I am very interested into seeing what this program can do.
Me, personally, am interested in being a player and a GM with a tablet and finding out exactly how far I can push the technology in aiding my gameplay. My GM is teasing me all the time about using my laptop for gaming but right now we have a party of 11th level PCs and our last major battle had my character under the effects of at least a dozen buffs. I was using Hero Labs, everyone else was using paper sheets. I was able to say exactly what I wanted to do at what bonuses without taking a minute or two to add things up. Everyone else had to keep asking what applies to what bonus.
How close to Hero Labs is your program going to be? Are there going to be features in your program that HL can't do? Does Character Folio have the same (or more) amount of flexibility in character management as HL?
If you haven't used the program, you should to at least see all its features and functions. They are planning building and releasing a tablet version of Hero Labs by the end of the year, but as of yet they haven't committed to which tablet OS they want to support. If your program doesn't let me do what I can do with HL and more then I will be continuing to use that program on my laptop until it is released for an iPad.
If it competes with the HL program to a point that I think it would work better for me while gaming, then I will be one of your first customers.
You mention the SRD in the description. Another app, the PFR was mentioned here as well. How will your SRD function compare to the PFR?

The group over at Path Forge are trying to make a macro free version for Excel. They want it to be able to run on the iPad/iPhone or Android or PC.
I am currently using the Pathfinder RPG Character Manager b54 as I wait for them to finish Path Forge. (It was written by one of the guys working on Path Forge.)

We haven't done a feature by feature comparison with HL - which is a kick-butt program but I am certain we will have the same amount of flexibility as they do.
As for SRD it's more targeted than the PFR; per the section you are using in the Character Folio.
I'll be making a vid of the latest release soon so you can see it in action.

I use PFR as mentioned above.
I also use "Spells" by Scott Seligman - it's a great app that is so much more than just spells. It has feats, weapons, monsters, classes amd magic items as well. The main advantage of this over PFR is the speed of the search - so much faster than PFR.
There is the odd thing missing - like equipment, armour and monster special abilities.
But, for around $1 it's great value...
I tend to use PFR for general reference - like I would reading the rulebooks and then Spells in play (using the search and "Mark" capability to access frequently used items).

Searching for "pathfinder" I saw the two apps iFumble and iCrit that you mentioned from Pazio Publishing, LLC.
Can anyone who owns these let me know how they compare to the actual physical decks? I have them (the decks) and I really like using them in-game. Do the apps add anything to the game or are they just a software version of the decks?

So I purchased the apps and tried them out. I don't have the actual decks so I'll assume that the items that show up for each crit/fumble is the same.
So when you start the apps you go to a splash screen and then go a 4-button view (Bludgeoning, Piercing, Slashing, and Magic). When you press the button a sound corresponding to the button pressed plays and a fills the button area with the that type of crit for the crit app and the same for the fumble app.
At the bottom is a button to clear the current results as well as a button to the OGL/credits.
Each app is $1.99.
It would be nice that the apps are combined into one app with a button or swipe to switch between criticals/fumbles seeing as you can have a crit or fumble in the same round (having to switch between apps is annoying).
As a future enhancement it would be nice to be able to pick and choose which crits/fumbles are in the deck and perhaps add your own custom ones.
Overall: ♥♥♥♥ out of 5
Just did a search on the site and looks like they have product pages for both apps:
Looks like Pazio will be coming up with more apps hopefully in the near future.
As a developer though its hard to monitize iPhone Apps (remember Apple takes a 30% cut off the top so there goes your profit). The fixed cost of buying a License and then developing with Objective-C with something like Xcode is a smaller segment of the programming population (its a little more difficult language to learn).
Look forward for iPhone App versions of all their products.

Thanks for the review. It sounds like a cool pair of apps, and I'd buy them if I didn't have the cards already. But since the player actually participate (they draw and read their own cards when they crit or fumble) I'm going to pass on the apps. They would detract from the game play we have already in place.
Greg

I do like the sounds the apps play when you draw a card. Would be nice if its wasn't the same sound each time though.
If you are more "tactile" then the cards are great. I already use my iPod Touch for PFR and Summoner so I already have it on the table next to my dice.
I don't think it's the tactile nature of it. If it were just me that was using the cards, I'd get rid of them in favour of the apps. (I have a burnese mountain dog that's tall enough to knock my deck around as he passes the table.) But it's part of the players' experience as they score a crit. So it would be less fun for them if I got rid of the cards.
