Containers in Pathfinder

Rules Questions

Liberty's Edge

In our last game session of Pathfinder , our game came to a sudden halt when we needed to know how much can a backpack hold.
We spent about 10 minutes going through the Core Book and could not find any suggestions/rules for how much containers can hold(backpacks, belt pouches, sacks etc.)
Did I over look the section that describes this or is it absent from the book?
I am sorry if this has been asked else where.
Thanks and good luck gaming.

On the WotC site, there is an article about going metric with containers, but it also contains the "english" equivalents also. You have to page down to get see all the tables.

but that article doesnt say how much it can hold

from the srd

"Backpack (empty)

A standard backpack is constructed of water resistant, reinforced leather and holds 1 cubic ft. or 60 lbs. of gear."

and

"Backpack, Masterwork

Source Adventurer's Armory 6
This backpack has numerous pockets for storing various items that might be needed while adventuring. Hooks are included for attaching items such as canteens, pouches, other small bags, or even a rolled-up blanket. It has padded bands that strap across the chest and the waist to distribute its weight more evenly. Like a common backpack, it can hold about 2 cubic feet of materials in its main container. When wearing a masterwork backpack, treat your Strength score as +1 higher than normal when calculating your carrying capacity."

It's a backpack. How much can it hold? About as much as you can fit in a backpack.
