This will be the Out Of Character thread used to discuss character creation and questions regarding the game. Once again the players for this are;
Team Hydra
-Deiros - Belros Verzar (cavalier)
-Draztik - Kaldar Sithik (fighter)
-Wasteland Knight - ???
-Talomyr - ???
A cavalier and fighter have the main melee bases covered. If WK and Talomyr could make basically anything else the party should be fine.

For Belros your stats all look good. Heirloom Weapon is basically the most powerful trait available, and there's no mention of the weapon itself in your background. If you add in some fluff to include where you get your masterwork bastardsword from that would be nice. Do to the nature of this module your mount will not be getting much use, so I'm not worried about you having a more powerful trait. (Saving Mounted Combat for a later level may be a good idea as well)
Make sure and select a Tactician Feat as well.
Your melee breakdown looks accurate
+6 (BAB +1, Str +3, +1 trait, +1 MW weapon)
FYI guys I'm not a fan of spoilers if you can avoid it in your profiles. Except for really big things like backgrounds, skills, and equipment.
If you must use them you can put the title in the spoiler by doing this [ spoiler=Title][ /spoiler] without any spaces.
ie.

Again sorry I don't have more on my character sheet yet. I'll be goin down to the tow yard where my car is at tomorrow and getting my stuff out so I should be able to update with stats and whatnot.
If we need some variance in the party if you'd like to be the frontline fighter i dont mind switch Kaldar to a more archery based build.
I've been wantin to try out a 1h/shield build for a while but this campaign probablly wont go as high as I'm lookin to go with that build so I'd be just as happy goin a ranged build.
In fact as I'm thinkin about it I would probably prefer to go archery with this char.
But I'm good for whatever just lookin forward to a good story and learnin the boards.

I agree, Cavalier is a class which can be situational. In an adventure path like Kingmaker I have seen a cavalier dominate combat. I can imagine one like Council of Thieves would be terrible though.
Much like a Ranger selecting a favored enemy that only occasionally shows up.
funny you say that lol I'm playin a Cavalier in the kingmaker game I was at the night I got hit, it's alot of fun there and, I agree wouldnt be much fun in certain campaigns

Ok, looks like we have physical combat covered and we have a cleric. What would the rest of the party like; A rogue, an arcane caster, or something more hybrid-like like an alchemist or a bard? Given the clanky nature of fighters and cavaliers, I don't know how effective a rogue is going to be.
I'm leaning towards the alchemist because of the combination of arcane-like fire power along with the rogueish skill list. (disable device, perception, etc.)

LMAO! sounds pretty fun to RP that character ^^ well I think I got everything covered this time except for the mounted combat feat, thinking of leaving it as is, not really sure tho, I'll be a cavalier with no mount for now... maybe I'll get a direwolf or something stronger later on ^^

If you are going for a cavalier, it is fairly crippling to the character class to not make use of a mount. Even though there is already a fighter in the group, perhaps fighter may still be a better option for you.
I can understand it if you are going for a paticular character concept, but in a game such as this (where the DM may not go beyond this one module) it is certainly less than ideal.

Ok, unless someone has a strong desire for me NOT to play the alchemist, I'm thinking that's what I'll do.
Here's a quicky version until I flesh it out more and make the character sheet.
Half-Elven Alchemist, failed student at the Arcanamirium, but still managed to pick-up a few of the concepts.
Feats: Splash Weapon Mastery (Adventure's Armory); Skill Focus (Stealth)
Traits: Accelerated Drinker (Traits Web Supplement/Cheliax Book), Failed Apprentice (Taldor Book)
What do you want me to use as the starting gold since that hasn't been officially released for the alchemist? Bard? Rogue? Other?
Talomyr
To be fair a normal fighter doesn't get to declare a single target beat down on. Nor does a fighter get to coordinate his allies granting them teamwork feats.
Unfortunately, neither does the cavalier at 1st level, sure the challenge exists, but it's only +1 damage. The teamwork feat stuff is neat when you hit 2nd level.

Rogue gold should be good. Any idea what that feat does? Just a rewrite of the old Grenadier feat? Point-black Shot is popular as well. Good lookin' traits there.
Actually they have Tactician at first level and can grant the feat for four rounds.

Belros Verzar wrote:Well I will keep a fighter, I was sad with the mount thing being useless I suppose, I just couldn't see me as the party tactician.ok sounds good then I'll switch him from sword/shield to archery build.
Draztik once your fancy fighter joins the table we'll be ready to roll. I'll have something nice and dramatic que the adventure.
Until then carry on the familiarizing!
Draztik
I'll give him until Sunday night, then I'll start the story. If he's still a no show I'll replace him. This is a 4-man adventure but having 3 guys for a couple fights won't hurt anything.
Yea sorry guys its been kinda crazy for me the last couple days tryin to balance work, doctor appointments for my injured shoulder and dealing with two different insurance companies and 6, count em SIX, different insurance adjusters to get this taken care of, plus tryin to find a new car lol it's been hectic.
But anyways, I believe I have the stat blocks set if you would like to look over them. I will try to make a post on the game thread tonight or tomorrow, bout to go celebrate my fiance's bday or I would now.
Again thank you so much for bein patient with me.

Reactionary is a trait that gives a +2 initiative that I raect quickly to things, it's in the supplement of character traits free download ^^ with the rest of the normal traits like bully and such
Ah, that's cool. Just didn't see it listed on d20pfsrd's Trait section and they're usually up to date. Oh wait, I see it now. For some reason my browser wouldn't [Find] it for me.
Draztik
What is that reactionary trait from? Do you mean Rich Parents? Actually gonna ask you not to use that one, it's just a bit too powerful for a Module that mostly takes place during level 1.
Ok np I'll recalculate my starting gear here in a bit and find a different trait. Only chose it cause it fit the background I had written lol so it's no big deal I can find another one just as easy.

KK first post made. I feel like such a rookie when it comes to actual writing lol. I know it's not on the level I'd like it to be, any critiques or anything to help me improve my writing and storytelling are more than appreciated.
That was a good post! Keep at it for sure.
I think this is going to be real fun running the two groups side by side : )
