And presuming I ever finish this blog post I get to start working on my next character. Debating between paladin and fighter. I'd like to play a paladin since the only time I did so before was an utter train wreck, but I might get into alignment trouble again since I have this tendency to play lawful practical instead of lawful good.

My daughter had similar issues and wound up pumping almost exclusively. Same benefits of breast feeding but you can split up the duties. Some people claim there is some bonding or whatnot with actual breastfeeding but I'm not sure I'm convinced.

Obviously having a machine sucking boob has some negatives also...

Anyhow worked for her and it's a lot better than pre-made stuff.

The first few weeks are tough, but it doesn't last too long. How often are you feeding?

Spoiler:
I now affectionately call the lactation consultants "lactation nazis". They tell you that you must breast feed or else your child will grow up to be a serial killer or something. And/Or that if you can't, it's because you're not doing it right. It really pisses me off.

Our first child caused my wife to bleed. She wasn't producing enough milk at the time and our son was turning her breast inside out. She had the whole post-pardem depression (sp?) going on along with lack of sleep along with feeling defective. Our son wasn't getting the nourishment he needed and the whole ordeal was destroying my wife. After struggling with this for a little over a week, we went back to the lactation consultant. She bottle fed our son and he literally turned the nipple on the bottle inside out. She told us that she had never seen a child suck that hard before.

We formula fed pretty much from that point on. We were able to do shifts which allowed us to get some sleep. She was no longer bleeding or in pain. She didn't stopped hating our child.

And our son is one of the smartest in his class, one of the youngest in his class, and one of the most caring children I've ever seen.

In the end -- do what you need to for your sanity and your wife's sanity. If you can't do that, you can't help your child.

And I really do know what you're going through -- the man is really kind of helpless with this. All you can do is watch (and pray). It sucks. Hang in there and let her know that she isn't defective if she cannot breastfeed this child.

And let her know that you are there and are her support. (And that she is not alone in this.)

Good luck.

Final course grade, not objective test grade, right? Sorry, I can only understand 100% in a math course. There is no perfection in the human arts and sciences. Now, if they have to subtract 1% after grading because they graded it 100%, then they are just lazy f@+%ers who didn't grade it well the first time around and were too lazy to regrade it.

That final exam weighed me to 99% for the course. I did all of my homework and reading assignments and I do not recall providing anything erroneous. I was really big into Greek & Roman mythology (and astronomy) back in high school. I wish I retained all of that now in the same detail I knew then.

lol. Nice comeback. :)

I finished the blog and updated the character sheet and put it away. I feel kinda sad now. We'll still check in on these characters' progress through the epic levels from time to time, but they won't be the main game anymore. After three years that just seems weird. I've never actually finished a campaign before.

STEW!

Actually, we're having stew for dinner.

Well, we're actually having red curried beef, but we're kind of cooking it like a stew. It's so hard to get stew beef to come out tender.

I've used this for roasts in the crock pot, not stew, but a shot of whiskey with beef makes it come out super tender, and the alcohol burns off. Fall apart on the plate tender.

Snow ...

Why'd it have to be snow?

Really, with Lupercalia behind us and Ostara staring us in the face why does the Dihydrogenmonoxide stubbornly retain its crystalline solid form? We had such a nice Nor'Easter going, driving rain, the kind of rain that wakes crocii from their slumber. Now I wake up to a monochromatic vista, yet again.

Sorry to hear about the troubles, AZ.

Spoiler:
You should listen to Moff and the others. Our daughters never breast fed, mostly due to their extreme prematurity. My wife pumped breast milk from the very beginning. We would often supplement with formula, to make sure they were getting the calories they needed.

The best benefit of pumping is that you can refrigerate the milk and warm it up in the middle of the night. Heck, the hospital even had us keep a stock of it frozen for easy longer-term storage.

Pumping milk and setting it aside allows you and your wife take turns feeding the little zombie, so at least one of you is getting some rest.

I wish you three the best of luck. The first few days are really challenging. Things will get a little easier when he's sleeping through the night. Just try to be patient with him, with each other, and with yourselves.

No thanks. It's peaceful and quiet, I've posted in the PbP, and the coffee is ready. I see no sure way a few kids would enhance this experience.

Maybe I'm being mean by going 0 instead of 1, but they tend to inflate grades. Here's the thing: I've used a spread of five in the past, I think that's too fiddly for them. Many can't or won't bother to distinguish between 5 levels of quality. Also, I don't want 100 to be possible on a non-objective assignment.

On my high school chemistry research paper, after all his comments was:

-1% because there's no such thing as a perfect paper!

Total: 99%

Holy Crap!

I can't believe what I just found out. :O

Like every other morning, I parked my car outside the shipyard at 0600 on Madison Avenue next to the Effingham Plaza Apartments and then walk into the yard to get some exercise.

When I walked to my car this afternoon at about 1620, I noticed there was a news van with a tall antenna with a dish on top across the street from my car. There was also a tripod (sans camera) set up in the yard next to the van. There was another van parked a little behind my car and while I sat in my car another van pulled up and parked on the other side of the road.

I was really curious as to what brought these news vans out here and figured maybe it had to do with the really high winds we had in the area.

So, I checked the net after getting home.

Holy crap was I wrong. Here is the real reason they were there...

That cop car in the pics was probably parked 20 feet in front of my car. :O

Wow..Frightening!

I meant to respond to this, earlier, but I agree with FHDM.

Spoiler:
Since outsiders don't usually die when defeated on the plane they've been summoned to, I don't think they see it as risking too much.

Might make for an interesting story line if the PCs faced a foe that could actually destroy an outsider in some way. Would the summoner find it more difficult to bring in new help, once word got out that those who answer his/her call never come back?
