Uh....this is not the TOTP *I* wanted.

Well, don't we all arrive here nekkid? Even zombiespawn?

Also, does this mean you've heard good news?

I know I haven't been here in awhile, but I thought we had a no religion/politics rule in effect? Have things changed that much?

John Wick is wonderfully creative. He needs to go read more about the relationship between religion and magic. And I don't mean Joseph Campbell.

Have you read Play Dirty?

Nope hit me with author/link.
Also, if I. Haven't already told you guys, you can't die and go to cinematic heaven if you haven't seen Beckett and A Lion in Winter. Also Lawrence of Arabia and Bladerunner!

Rone!!!!

Congrats AZ!! Beautiful pic! :D

OMFG.

After following the "story" for several days, I got curious. After doing a few Google searches and reading (and re-reading) the few of his posts off-site, I think I've figured out what his original point was...and also why it's so darned hard to understand him.

Those folks who referenced that old Star Trek episode obviously got it, first, but I'm not sure if they fully grasped how accurate their comment was.

It's pretty clear to me that that guy writes with an internal monologue going all the time. When he explains something, he uses references that make perfect sense to him, but only occasionally will he stop to explain or expand on that reference. As such, there are times when the reader gets a glimpse of what he's talking about, and others where we are left on our own to figure out what the reference means...and hopefully thorugh that how it makes sense in context.

I also figured out what the heck his problem with Paizo's name was. He spells it out a bit more clearly on the Necromancer games forum.

The guy's obviously incredibly intelligent...he also happens to be completely off his rocker.

Anyway...just had to share.

EDIT: The "story" is linked, for those who didn't see that. I would say more, but I don't want to invoke the guy's screen name. He uses it on every forum he's in.

Looked up the post. And no, it still doesn't make any sense.

Don't even joke about that! My players will be able to get cohorts in another session or so!

::sobs brokenly::

My PC just got his animal companion back last night and the Ranger is looking for another animal companion. So without cohorts our party is now 9 including a horse and a Mountain Lion.
7 PCs, including a druid, a ranger, a paladin and a summoner, all with another creature to control. And that's before anyone can take leadership!
I can't wait to get Leadership, but my cohort and followers will have duties other than following me around as canon fodder.

Shhhh! You're ruining it! I want everyone to feel sorry for me!

:D

But Jess, everyone already feels sorry for you. You know, since you don't know how to GM and all.

I can get that this is a running joke, but there has to be some origin to this story that implied someone said such in not so kind a fashion?

It was a thread here somewhere. I don't remember who said it... I'll see if I can find a link when I get back to my PC.

(netbook FTL) :/

I hope it contained the words: nerfed, broken, weaksauce, fulloffail, wrongfun...

Yeah, I remember we started making deadpan statements during games and such about how women couldn't DM and it just kinda took off from there.

Scarab Sages

Hello all.

So I was planning on going on a hike on my day off with the family. Then my youngest got sick and threw up. (Things to look forward to AZ.) So just my oldest son and I went. We went to Castlewood Canyon which isn't too far and I found out has a waterfall. I was hoping to get a few ice falls pics. Didn't quite get what I was hoping for, but got a few nice pictures. Here, Here, and Here.

Looks like a lot of the old drama has passed.

I see that we've got the return of some older people -- hello Thing and Patrick.

And we have the birth of a new brain-eating child. Congrats AZ. (Let us know how everyone is doing when you get a chance. I was a little concerned for your wife.)

Hope everyone has had a lovely day. Now I'm off to clean up some puke. (It's good to be "dad".)

hello Moff...and goodnight to everybody.

Once again, good photos! What's that last one?

Good night, Thing.

Moff, have fun with the vomit.

Castlewood Canyon used to be home to a dam. I didn't look at the specifics but there are the remains of an old homestead on the property. I just liked the pattern of the shadows.

My only complaint was having to use a day of vacation, because the city couldn't get the alley plowed until tonight.

I was going to comment, but I couldn't figure exactly how to word it.

"I'd by happy with 14 inches" ?

"Are we still talking about snow?" ?

"14 inches is nothing, you should see my TotP" ?

I don't know, they don't quite work.

(God I hope that's what you were talking about ...)

Scarab Sages

Watching Doctor Who -- Silence in the Library. They've got some good writers.

I see that that the Castilian transplant was able to address the matter. All fourteen inches of matter. Excellent work!

Ok, "Women can't GM", got it's start in the Sometimes Heroes Die thread. I think the actual post may have been removed. Also somewhere in that or in a similar thread someone informed Jess that girls also suck at math. So, in practice, a quick math jab usually follows the GMing comment.

Which is fun because I really do suck at math. Whatever. ;)

Scarab Sages

there will be these really f&%#ed up arguments at 2 a.m.
I suggest that nobody brings them up or gives any credence to anything either person said the next day, man. It's just f&$!ed up tired people saying stupid s%%@.

Same here. I'm exhausted. And the drive home sucked! Snowing and they hadn't plowed the streets yet. Just enough accumulation to make it dangerous.

Last I checked, Mommy was going to try and get some sleep, and baby was already sleeping before they brought him back to the nursery for the night.

I'll see them again sometime tomorrow. Depends on how soon I get the snow shoveled.

Scarab Sages

And, with that, I'm off folks. Gonna go get some sleep. It's been a long day, and is gonna be a long week.

But the bigger question arises ... have you and your spawn worked out who gets BttH at what times? This is important! No one wants to accuse the other of being monopolizing for what is an important lifestyle choice, right?

;-)

EDIT: How can this not be more perfect? Nude BttH!
