Taig, sorry your wife lost her job, hopefully she will find something better.

Leafy, have a good trip.

Solnes, Hopefully we are going to actually accomplish housework this weekend, since we haven't done any in a month. And then hand out candy on Sunday.

If we did have a FAWTLCon in Minnesota, who would all come?

EDIT: nekkid FAWTLCon MN for TotP.

I hope Jude settles down soon.

The job loss is overall a good thing, oddly enough. I don't think my wife will have trouble finding something else.

FaWTLCon MN sounds good, but when would you have it: in the next couple of months when the temps don't get above freezing? :)

Should we perhaps begin using handcramps as our own version of Hi Welcome?

You probably haven't even seen Urizen or Moorluck on a roll, either.

Thanks for the well-wishes, folks.

And if I don't make it back (or even if I do), have a good morning and a great weekend!

Mike and Tina got into a huge argument over Halloween costumes. Apparently the stripper outfits are fine for the bedroom but not in public, so Tina suggested Mike dress more modestly and leave the brass pole at home. Their friends think Tina was just trying to get out of lugging the 1980s boombox around whilst it played YMCA over and over again as Mike gyrated. Besides the tipping would be in the form of candy. Sally discovered human remains as she planted flower bulbs. Since the house had been in her family for generations, she was unsure of what to do. She decided on making them part of her Halloween display and dispose of them next week on eBay as 'realistic' props. Oh wait, that's my subdivision news...

I used to be very big into collecting. With the current cost of comics these days, I'm kind of glad I'm not anymore. I had somewhere along the lines of 30 "long whites". Sold them all in shows. Currently we have a number of TPBs (Star Wars especially, but also Fables, Elf Quest, and a few X-Men related) and about 2-3 "long whites" -- my wife has a good collection of the Oz comics that came out and I still have a number of "X" related books -- mostly stuff from the '90's. There were a lot of books I wished I had kept -- but I also don't regret selling the books off.

Spoiler:
I used the money to buy my wife's wedding/engagement ring. And she has been a much better "investment" than the books would have been. ;-)

Grrrr.

People really need to think in more ways than strictly linearly...

Spoiler:

"I need this document."
"Well the system isn't letting me get it right now. I'll get it to you in a few minutes."
"But I can't order this one other document without it."
"So order it in a few minutes. Move on to something else."
** strange look **
"But I can't order this one document without it."
"I know -- move on to something else."
"Well I can't just sit around waiting all day for this one document to print. I've got other things to do."
"1) It won't take "all day" and 2) It sounds like you have other things to do so go ahead and get started on that and I'll get you the document shortly."
"But I need this to order my document."

It's like her brain couldn't move on to the next step leaving this one undone for just a few minutes. It was really kind of odd.

It reminds of the Sales Rep that just "thought up" the idea that we could use a Customer Service Chat on our website. When I explained the time and money it would cost to put in place, including hiring reps to be here 24/7 instead of the 9-3 (Mon-Fri) most of the Sales reps work, she responded with "well, we should open the checkbooks!".

Never mind that she wasn't talking about her department's budget, nor the fact that we are two years behind the national recession, so we're bleeding money right now...
