Glad you're OK. I wondered how badly you would be affected by the storm.

How high's the water, Mama?
Two feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "Two feet high and risin'"
We can make it to the road in a homemade boat
'Cause that's the only thing we got left that'll float
It's already over, all the wheat and the oats
Two feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Mama?
Three feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "It's three feet high and risin'"
Well, the hives are gone, I've lost my bees
The chickens are sleepin' in the willow trees
Cow's in water up past her knees
Three feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Mama?
Four feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "It's four feet high and risin'"
Hey, come look through the window pane
The bus is comin', gonna take us to the train
Looks like we'll be blessed with a little more rain
Four feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Mama?
Five feet high and risin'
How high's the water, Papa?
She said, "It's five feet high and risin'"
Well, the rails are washed out north of town
We gotta head for higher ground
We can't come back till the water goes down
Five feet high and risin'
Well, it's five feet high and risin'

As a temporary fix, build a pole out of your minis to use that to hoist the power lines. They'll smile upon you as saviour. It'd be good for your karma. Maybe the child rearing won't be so bad if you cash in those hero points now.

I was taking a shower this morning and wondered why the water pressure was so low. Same with brushing my teeth. Thought I was just too tired and didn't know the difference.
The lil lady said the same thing this morning and that the toilet water is kicking up from the sewer. Ugggghhhh.... Thank goodness we got a case of bottled water for the contractors on Tuesday. Note to self: don't make the kool-aid: it's unfit to drink.

Not one but rather two employees were let go from the school bus company. Both were drivers of the mini or short buses. The reason these, blessings upon our collective gene pools were let go you may ask? Well it was for driving the school bus through the drive though at a couple of fast food stores. Wait you may say that isn't a big deal we drive our minivan through there all the time. Well these wonderful examples of human intellect failed to realize that the bus is actually a foot and a half taller then the mini van chassis that they are made from. I bet you can already see where this is going can't you? Yep old Ronald McDonald lost an arm. Not once, no you would think after hearing about it the first time the second driver would have parked and walked in. No Ronald lost another arm too. And the best part? Brand spanking new 2010 buses; one of which has already been totaled because they backed up and hit the awning a second time and did so much damage it was not repairable.

I liked them both. That being said you could see the "plot twist" a mile off. Lady in the water was boring, but I think part of it was the actors. The one that really got me though, that damned plant movie. I am so glad I just waisted my time and not my money.

Don't they have some kind of screening? Like, if you shine a light in the candidate's eyes, do they stop breathing? That might be a good test to start. :)

So did I. My woman is like the girl in that movie; she has drinking glasses all over the house. Hopefully it doesn't conclude in the same fashion here.

Other Lion: What? Is he crazy? Didn't he hear what those other guys did to that idiot human who messed with us the first time?

Dude: smacks lion again

GREAT night on the second job last night. Funny people, good conversation. I think it was because we were getting the last of the just-off-of-work crowd, so people were interested in actually talking instead of just being jerks. Then again, I might have just gotten lucky on that angle...
Going to see if I'm playing D&D tonight or not. I'm completely unsure. I'm also giving thought to dropping in on the guys on Monday and seeing if I can pick up my rakshasa/snake tiefling character up. I think I'll do that if tonight is a wash.
That's about it for me. I think the day will be boring as heck. Here's hoping it is so I can get some writing done- the Paladins of Freehold need to be finished off.

It's funny and it isn't. I've had to drive vehicles that were unsually sized before(both times it was a surprise to me), and it takes a second to realize that no, you aren't in a regular sized vehicle and can't do regular sized things like hit up a drive thru. Still, I didn't go around ripping off Ronnie's arms...TWICE.

But she looked bored and disinterested in the movie too. It could be because she had to try to generate chemistry with Marky "how is it I'm still getting roles in Hollywood films" Mark.

Yeah, War of the Worlds had the excuse that they couldn't know everything about us before they invaded. Whereas if you're an alien race bent on invasion, and have a severe "allergy" to water, wouldn't you write off Earth right away? And they'd have to stay away from Seattle, Brazil and any other place with a rainforest nearby... Or a really humid climate.
I mean, I'm no military genius, but why would you invade a world where even the atmosphere could hurt you? (I'm looking at YOU, Avatar.)

To be fair, if they were severely allergic to it to the point of death, chances are it does not show up in their ecosystem. Most people know enough not to go swimming in pools of battery acid. However, we do not have a massive lake of it that occurs naturally that everyone avoid. Also, despite the fact that we are a planet that is mostly water, we do not live in the areas covered by water- maybe they were attempting the same? I agree water was a weak weakness, he should have gone with something a little more esoteric, but I think that they didn't know the effect it would have on them.
As for Avatar...that's a little more dicey. Humans KNOW what's dangerous and should have avoided the planet or simply massdrivered the blue peeps into oblivion.
