Papa-DRB: My current program does x, will HL do that?
HL guy: We want to add that, but not at this time.
Papa-DRB: Oh, I'll look again when it does.
I've seen that at least twice. Innocent enough, unless you realize he is heavily involved with PCgen.
Not that the programs are in direct competition, since PCgen is free, but it's still pretty under-handed, I thought.

Wow!!! What an nice find. I picked up a copy of H. G. Wells The Outline of History, Volumes I & II for $11. Granted, they were missing the dust jackets and very slightly dinged up, but they are still in good shape.
Meh. Mel Brooks' History of the World Part I was better.

Thanks all... I don't QUITE trust our basement parking garage tonight. I think I'll park outside in the high ground instead. At least my apartment's on the second floor -- still 20+ feet from the top of the water.
Are you in Highland and if so did you have an issues with the storm the other night?

This was too funny not to share.
Not one but rather two employees were let go from the school bus company. Both were drivers of the mini or short buses. The reason these, blessings upon our collective gene pools were let go you may ask? Well it was for driving the school bus through the drive though at a couple of fast food stores. Wait you may say that isn't a big deal we drive our minivan through there all the time. Well these wonderful examples of human intellect failed to realize that the bus is actually a foot and a half taller then the mini van chassis that they are made from. I bet you can already see where this is going can't you? Yep old Ronald McDonald lost an arm. Not once, no you would think after hearing about it the first time the second driver would have parked and walked in. No Ronald lost another arm too. And the best part? Brand spanking new 2010 buses; one of which has already been totaled because they backed up and hit the awning a second time and did so much damage it was not repairable.
lol. :D
Funniest thing I've heard all day. :)lynora |
I'm not saying it's a lot of rain or anything, but Lowe's is running low on cubits of wood and there's a couple of folks running around gathering animals two by two.
Also, I drove by the office of my insurance agent at lunch and noticed that the parking lot surrounding the building is now a 2' deep lake.
Oh, how I'm missing the mountains I grew up in. Because, y'know, there's HIGH LAND. Unlike Minnesota where the "mountain" peaks at 250'.
Yikes. Good luck with that. And I hope it stops raining soon.

Nice! Last weekend I scored the Houghton Mifflin 2nd printing of the Lord of the Rings for a cool $20. No dust jackets, but with the sweet sauron eye and ring logo: >linky<
I was pretty stoked.

It makes a lot more sense now you've put it that way. I wasn't really seeing it the first time around when I read your comment after his.

Gratz! I ended up having Borders bucks coming my way, so I'm looking forward to next month.
Is it sad I haven't renewed by B&N membership yet? It expired end of August, but I haven't been there in awhile. I've cut back on my periodicals (read = foreign that are cheaper to buy at the newsstands) and that was the primary reason for going. May pick it up when it nears Thanksgiving, though. I like the fact that Borders' is free. The only issue is that there's two of them here in Central Ohio and they're on the opposite end of town. :/
On the bright side? Thank you, Amazon. I buy their gift card at the local grocery store. I've been finding excellent deals from third parties on there AND I get points to go towards my gas discount the following month. That's a WIN.

It took reading Wolfie's response to the "I'm ignoring you, see, I'm ignoring you" to understand what was going on.

Hello everyone. this past week has been a mixed basket. Good news I got a girlfriend, bad news is that I felt I had to withdraw from school this semester.
that is all, that is all
Does spending too much time chasing A in any way correlate to action resulting in B with attendance and/or grades plummeting?
