Morning, all. What did I miss?

I'm very irritable today for some reason.

Lynora: Good Luck!

Liberty's Edge

Y'know, if we were all women, we'd be on the same cycle.

AHEM

Yeah, day's off to a lousy start here too. The temperature finally dropped to human levels yesterday, so I could actually turn off the A/C and sleep with the windows open. Well, that wasn't such a great idea, apparently, since the noise of traffic/birds/bubbling brooks/whatever seemed to drown out the sound of my alarm clock AND the TV I have set to turn on in the morning to help wake me up.

Fortunately, no traffic. Unfortunately, still 15 minutes late (and I didn't *quite* brush my teeth as diligently as usual :P).

Silver Crusade

Heh. I didn't want to get up this morning either. And then, when I was already running late, I took a wrong turn on my way to work. Seriously - the same route I've taken every day for the last 2 years. Today I turned right instead of left. I have no idea why.

Last night I was coming home from the new job. It's in a neighborhood I know, about 10 minutes away in traffic. Apparently, when it turns dark, I'm unable to recognize an area I'm only familiar with in sunlight and I took a couple of wrong turns. Felt a similar frustration.

Whalp, my daughter's nurse came late today, so no gym for me :/ And it is POURING out, third day in a row. So things are starting kinda sucky ATM.

However, I am about to got to an exhibit of Michael Whelan's art at a local gallery on the Lower Cape. I am hoping that this will make the day impove, InShah Allah .

Woody, nice bike. :)

And, I can't even remember what else I just read as I was catching up on the rest of the posts from today. Oh well. There'll just be more craziness tomorrow. :)

Craziness here? Never!

Glad to hear rye ear infection cleared up and I hope the yoga works to destress you.

Wow, the iPad really mangled my misspelling of "you're".

Is it just me or someone wielding a warpick would have trouble in a big fight, I mean imagine landing a good blow with that thing. It seems like it'd be easily stuck.

Hi all! *hugs* all around!

It's one of those things that sucks for the person wielding it, but REALLY sucks for the person its stuck in.

Heh! I hope your day gets better, and the hugs helped a little.

Day here is going well. Finally enjoying a day off. Kids are in school. Just me and the baby.
Arden seems to be really enjoying school. She was holding court yesterday during breakfast, making friends fast. Kellen is doing well so far. Still slowly coming around to school. But he made a new friend, so thats always a plus. Had a rough morning with him not wanting to go to school, but I have yet to receive a call, so I suppose the day turned around for him.

Went out last night to celebrate our last night with my fave employee. She is moving to Wilmington tomorrow...will miss her much. Enjoyed a few games of darts and a game of pool. Wasn't a late night, but coffee is still welcome today.

Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy.
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy.
Don't worry, be happy now.

*Don't worry, be happy.
Don't worry, be happy.
Don't worry, be happy.
Don't worry, be happy.

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy.
The landlord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy.

*(Look at me -- I'm happy.
Don't worry, be happy.
Here I give you my phone number.
When you worry, call me, I make you happy.
Don't worry, be happy.)

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no gal to make you smile
Don't worry, be happy.
'Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
Don't worry, be happy.

*(Don't worry, don't worry, don't do it. Be happy.
Put a smile on your face. Don't bring everybody down.
Don't worry. It will soon pass, whatever it is.
Don't worry, be happy. I'm not worried, I'm happy... )

You're healing. Sometimes you shut down on a motivational level because your body is shuttling energy to other parts of you in the name of convalescensce. I know that happened to me when I was dealing with the knee delocation, some times I just didn't want to go anywhere or do anything and had to force myself through work or sometimes just to eat. But I made myself do those things, and eventually I started feeling like I wanted to do them again.

Thanks. I tell myself that but I also think it might be more. Maybe a mid life crisis/change of life thing as well.

I'll keep treading water. :)

Example of how low I've dropped - My buddy is starting a Pathfinder campaign tonite, and I'm struggling to get pumped for it. Maybe a dwarven cleric...then I could get away with being Grumpy. :)

It'll come back, E7. I think I've been in the same boat for about a year, but I'm starting to get my motivation back.

Thanks. We had our Tuesday game last nite, and with a coule of add-ins we hit 11 players and 1 GM. And one guy didn't make it! It's really gotten out of hand and way too much for me to process, so I think I'll going to take a break from it. It's fun but too slow and way too much noise for my achy head.

On that note, the NY Times had an interesting article yesterday link . It's about how our brains aren't getting enuf down time these days. It hits really close to how I'm feeling lately.

Cheers!

There was another article I read not too long ago on the importance of being bored. I'll see if I can find it.

Bored....wish hubby were home. Riley taking his nap. Maybe I will take one too.

my work is doing an "iron chef" competition. The secret ingredient is corn and I'm trying to decide between corn and cheese torts or corn stuffed tomatillos.

Day started out lousy for me also today. yeah ten miles round trip from home to school and my quads were killing me this morning. But it is a good kind of pain.

The Exchange

I am having a wonderful day off. I wish i could send these feelings of bliss and total laziness to all my friends out there.

Silver Crusade

I had lunch at the Olive Garden, so that was a plus. Hmm.

And thanks to taig and Mairkurion for the good wishes.

*sigh*

I suppose I really do have to go and wash the dishes now. And check on what the kidlet is watching. He's recently discovered the military channel so I have to monitor his programs a little more closely. :)

Instead of limiting his future career choice to Evil Genius, he can add Military Dictator and Warlord to his options. I'm partial to Warlord. ;)

Hey all.

Back from my trip to Orleans to go check out the art gallery. Saw a few cool things from Whelan, not as much fantasy stuff as I would have liked, cheapest piece was $1,400. Won't even bother telling you the top end :/. Ah well, I didn't go there to buy anyhoo.

Hope everyones mood is improving, and thanks for the hugs Solnes!

That's too bad. I don't even know of any Whelan art that isn't sci-fi or fantasy. Maybe I've seen a couple that were surrealist.

So, Solnes, how's classes?

Celestial Healer wrote:

I have been day dreaming about Olive Garden as of late! I love their food, hubby not a fan of Italian, so I don't get it often at all.

Mairkurion {tm} wrote:

I actually am on a break. With teh kids starting school I wanted to be available as often as possible if anything came up. While on said break I need to take the Praxis exam, have my background check and fingerprinting done, and get my TB booster updated. :\

heya solnes. I have a question about spring break in your area. I might be able to head that way come spring.

So Kellen has started to grow socially, he has made two new friends, this has ups and downs. He is growing, but this means that he is spending too much time running his mouth. Trying to decide how to approach this. Don't want to discourage making friends, but have to discourage the chatterboxness.

Woodraven wrote:

Its not FL, but its still busy and fun. I will talk with hubby, but I am sure you would be welcome.

Olive Garden has good food! But we have a couple of really good individually owned Italian places here. Hubby not a fan of any type of Italian like foods. Nor is he a fan of a trip to NY. He said drving through it was enough for him. :)
