Dwarven shadowdancer question

So in hopes of setting off a long convoluted argument, can a dwarven shadowdancer detect when he/she is within 10' of dim light.

Sure, having darkvision doesn't mean you can't tell where the lights are. And a dwarf shadowdancer may not be as bad as a dwarf sorcerer or a two-bladed sword wielding gnome, but it's still goofy and may end up on the end of an elven arcane archer's arrow (or three).
