So my PbP Kingmaker campaign has lost our (sorely missed and awesome) cleric of Erastil and is looking to fill a spot. I had a bunch of people excited to join at the beginning, so this is my call to you guys, but anyone is welcome to throw their hand in.
Technically, it doesn't have to be a cleric, but one would certainly help. Give me an interesting concept, and I'll choose the best this weekend. We are taking a break from posting until Friday, so time is on our side, so to speak. Please at least skim over the Discussion and Game threads so you can see what we're all about.
Hit me with yer best shots!

Vundabar! I've been following the thread for quite a while (long enough I inserted a dot to make finding it easier on the boards). I will have a concept up fairly soon.
Looking at the other PCs in the party, I'm guessing level 2? What system did you use for ability scores?
Elite array with a single extra point of your choice.
So for example, 16,14,13,12,10,8

Logen Vallenwood |

YES!~ I've been following this campaign for awhile as well, and have recently made a cleric for another campaign. Unfortunately he was rejected for the campaign I applied to... but this is an even more exciting proposition!
Logen's a cleric of a minor deity, Kurgess, son of Cayden Cailean and Desna. God of strength, competition, and self-sacrifice. Most of the info is in the profile, so I won't put any more here. I'll get around to changing up the stats when I get home in a few.
Crossing my fingers, you've got a great dynamic going on here, Chartered Six. Cheers! :]

Logen Vallenwood |

Stats are now edited and all should be in order for review! :]
EDIT: I also changed his story to fit better with this setting. There's no Sandpoint in the Stolen Lands silly Logen...
Logen grew up on a lonely farm owned by his parents close to Restov, a relatively isolated home life in regards to other neighbors. His mother and father were caring, and loved to tell stories to young Logen of a hero named Kurgess.
This Kurgess had been a pinnacle of athletic prowess many years ago, until he was killed in a trap set by jealous enemies, at one of his sporting events. He tried to save the other competetors, and succeeded, but couldn't save himself. The gods took pity on the man, and raised him to a godly status.
Always thinking of Kurgess's strength and self-sacrifice as incredibly noble, the god eventually became an idol to the teenage boy. Logen began training, earning enough money to buy several javelins and crafting a spiked gauntlet out of the materials he had at hand. He'd spend days out in the fields practicing, and had an innate talent with aiming and precision with his attacks.
One day, when he was out practicing in the field, Logen was set upon by a wild boar. The beast was much larger than him, and as he and the beast exchanged several blows, tusk against javelin, he knew he couldn't win. He had suffered many wounds at the hand of the animal, and almost gave in to his grisly fate.
Then a strange calm settled over the boy, and he raised his last throwing spear in anticipation. He pictured his hero, that righteous and strong Kurgess, as he loosed the javelin at the charging boar. The weapon flew threw the summer air and struck the beast between the eyes, killing it instantly. The calm feeling lifted, and somehow Logen knew he had been the subject of Kurgess's presence.
From then on, Logen has considered himself a devout follower of Kurgess, eager to carry on the demi-god's will. As the years passed by, he eventually turned eighteen, himself ending up as a respectable, strong, loyal man. If not a bit dull sometimes.
One day, Logen heard his parents discussing an expedition in the Stolen Lands, beginning in the nearby Restov, and practically jumped at the thought of the potential heroics and tests that lay in store. Swaying his parents over to his idea, as he was an adult now, Logen left his home to Restov with only a few meager supplies, his sporting weapons, and his parents' good will, ready for the trials ahead. Little did he know what he would to get into.

Dieter Stolzdorf |

Here is the submission for Tanner Nielsen.
Dieter Stolzdorf
Human Cleric of Abadar
Dieter Stolzdorf was born Dieter Garess in Highdelve, the third son of Ameth Garess, Baron of Highdelve. As a member of House Garess, he was groomed early on for service to the family's mercantile ventures. He spent much of his youth in the temple of Abadar in Grayhaven, tutored under the watchful eyes of the priests of the Master of the First Vault. There he learned the skills and knowledge necessary to serve as his parents intended. After finishing his studies, he returned to Highdelve and was commissioned as a senior clerk in a mithral mining operation jointly undertaken with the dwarves of the Golushkin Mountains. Several years of meritorious service and supervisor commendations brought him promotion to senior house liaison. While his conduct and service were commendable, family politics made it clear that his status as third son would forever restrict his ability to advance. Their rejection cut him like a knife. Growing increasingly dejected with work and losing his sense of self-worth, Dieter began drinking to ease the inner turmoil. On one occasion, the liquor only worsened his guilt and frustration, leading to a rashly-worded letter of resignation and a hurried flight away from Highdelve to flee his family and his responsibilities. He now finds himself a well-educated, highly-trained vagrant. He has adopted his mother's maiden name to hide his identity. He sees the Stolen Lands as an opportunity to find purpose in furthering the advance of civilization in service to Abadar.

Glass Castle |

Two possibilities (since neither is a cleric...)
1. Ivan Garess, 29 (Rogue, then Fighter) CG, CN, or TN
Trait: Noble Family (Garess), Accelerated Drinker from here: http://nethys.karuikage.net/traits.htm
Role: Spymaster, or Royal Executioner
Personality: Dour, but wise-cracks; like Eyeore mixed with Indiana Jones. "Another dead bandit executed by our swords? Another ghost to haunt my dreams... better go kill some good looking people to balance out those dreams." Bold and self-punishing. "No worry. I will watch fatigued for the entire night while the spellpeople dream their magical sleep. Maybe sometime in the future then they can heal me of my hangover. (Raises glass and starts drinking 1 per hour)". Alcoholic.
Motivation:
Wants to leave the past behind and forget everything he ever knew about Brevoy. Still writes to his father and his Uncle, Lord Howlan from time to time, but he wants to close that past, find a partner and a new land and opportunity. He does nothing but drink in Brevoy and there he has disgraced himself and all know of this. Now he wants a second chance.
Tendencies are to dislike thieves because they are dishonorable. He generally wants his fellow adventurers to be honorable. While he may not like dwarves, he is slowly getting over his hate for them and he realizes that they probably did not take his beloved cousin from him. He does believe in redemption, but he is generally sour about second chances.
Background:
He blames dwarves for his very close cousin's, Lord Howlan's son, disappearance when the Rogarvians and Goluyshkin dwarves disappeared. He started drinking hard that night, ten years ago, and he has not stopped since. He has asked everyone in New Stetven and Restov about the disappearance, he has been to Skywatch and tried to scale the walls, and he has traveled through the Icerim Mountains, all to no avail as he sank deeper and deeper into drink and delerium. After a fight with some dwarves in a seedy New Stetven bar, he was shipped back to his uncle Howlan who found a convenient way to get him out of the picture and out of punishment by sending him to the Stolen Lands as the family's designated explorer. Now he has given up about thinking of the past and he wants to stoically concentrate on the future.
Aspirations:
1. Quit the Drink... as much as possible
2. Start a new life and win honor for himself and his legacy- and honor Lord Howlan son (Bren?'s) legacy the way Bren would have wanted him to.
3. Find a partner in life and start a family and a legacy.
4. Uphold honor and righteousness.
Sing-Sing The Bard, 23 (Bard 1) TN or NG
Half Elven from Medvyed Lands.
Traits: Noble Family (Medvyed), ???Pioneer
Role: one of the charisma based roles
Personality:
Sunny disposition, except when bandits or centaurs are involved; usual advice for them is to execute them first and ask questions later or alternatively to torture them most offensively.
Plays the harmonica, the lute, and a collapsible piano/organ (when can afford/rebuild). Always willing to teach others how to play. Plays jokes on fey, but not on humans after realizing that most humans do not appreciate those types of jokes.
Does not appreciate getting ripped off or the short end of the stick. If he thinks that someone is out-speaking or out-maneuvering him, his temper will run hot.
Motivation/Background:
An alliance of bandits in the Medvyed forests cut down all the trees on his ancestral lands; and his drunken human father left his elven mother and sold the remaining family mountains when Sing-Sing was 14. Now, he is looking to claim new lands for his descendants, and whence to move his aging mother.
His older sister was kidnapped by centaurs when traveling into Iobaria as an adventurer, and she was never heard from again.
He learned his songs from fey creatures and his father, a poet of some repute.
His favorite weapon is the longbow, and he is deadly with a shot. He also uses a dagger, but tries to avoid close combat after getting beaten near to death by his drunken father on too many occasions.
Aspirations:
1-Acquire a plot of land in the new lands south of Restov where he, a new family, and his mother can live.
2-Found a lyrical school trained in many varieties of the musical and performance arts (IS always searching out new performance techniques and contacts in the field to use as potential teachers) ; alternatively if set on the right path, he could end up as a wild west variety show runner like Wild Bill Cody.

Howdy Y'all!
This is Berwick's submission
As far as integration goes, I was kinda thinking something about him stopping at Oleg's and then hearing about the group. Then either meeting them there, or heading out to find them.
Also, I could easily adapt this to a cleric of Erastil...I know, I know...you have been down that route, but a mule riding cleric just has a certain delicious flavor to it don't you think?
I will continue to finish this submission, skills and equipment and such as the week progresses.

Curse all these clerics :(
Yes i have major beef with the 'Token Cleric' that is with every damn adventuring party in the multiverse.
Yes I know i'm exaggerating.
That's why I am particularly happy with the renewed emphasis on Neutral clerics in Pathfinder. They have the flexibility to get the job done without moralizing everything. They have also humanized the alignments more so than 3.5. Abadar especially, since now the "God of Law" is focused more on mercantilism and communities rather than some planar abstract.
Dieter is here to tame the wilderness, not preach to it! :)

Yes I know i'm exaggerating.
But clerics are so fun to play!
I for one, love to play clerics. I tend to get odd looks from groups I join, when I enthusiastically ask to be the cleric of the group right off the bat. No one usually wants to. :P
But they're so flexible, and can fit so many roles. Not to mention the delicious role-playing opportunities each different god can give to their followers. Lawful clerics? Chaotic clerics? Farmer clerics? Pirate clerics? To me, it feels like each cleric who worships a different god from another is almost like a whole other class, but with the same spell list with little variations. So they never get boring. :D
Though the 'necessity' on having a cleric in the group can be bothersome at times - a party can usually get along fine without one. In that respect, I have to agree with you Alex. :P
I applied with a cleric not because Sully lost one, but because I like playing one. I'm sorry that irks you. :[

Mikmek, you have nothing to fear from me as long as you abide by the laws of the kingdom and behave like a civilized member of society. Transgress those laws and I will give you a stern talking to.
Just taking a quick look at the character, you seem to have shorted yourself a feat.
Look forward to seeing the character's background

Talomyr wrote:Just taking a quick look at the character, you seem to have shorted yourself a feat.Yeah, still a work in progress. Should have the background done soon (it's all in my head, just need to get it down on...paper?)
Would typing it in Word constitute putting it on paper?
Sure...as long it's a document Sully can see so he can decide who the new sixth member of the Chartered Six are...

Hey good luck with that Sully, you're gonna need it, maybe start a second game with just a bunch of clerics....actually that might be fun...
I noticed one who gets a little upset at the token cleric in all the games. I think we might need a token cleric in our Kingmaker, so far so good, but we don't do clerics in our game....not dead yet, but there's plenty more time...(scared fighter at the front, that's me.)
Good Luck have fun!

DM Sully |

Wow...this was incredibly tough to decide. I actually read them all again last night and slept on it. I reread them all tonight, and I had to pick only one, which was not a fun prospect.
So without further ado, congratulations to Euron One-Eye, the druid. I will work you into the story as soon as the group returns to Oleg's.
Thanks again to everyone, and I almost want to run another Kingmaker so all of you can see playing time! But I'm not completely crazy.
Thanks, guys, and keep lurking! Keep the characters around in case someone else needs to leave the game in the future.
Happy gaming!
To Euron:

Berenkor Trandoran |

Congrats Euron. Looking forward to playing with you.
Just been going over your character sheet and a few things i'd like to clarify.
In your skills section, you correctly point out that you get 4 skill points per level, for 8 ranks total. But as a human, your getting an extra skill point per level, so you have ten ranks total.
As the Ranseur is a two handed weapon, keep in mind the damage is 2d4+4, not 2d4+3 as you listed it.
For starting hp, you get your 8 and either a rolled d8 or the higher average, in your case a 5. Assuming you take the 5, your total HP will be 17 (includes favoured class at both levels).
The only thing really off with your stat sheet is your stat array. Maybe i'm missing something, but your top two stats aren't possible with the elite array + 1 point system Sully uses.
Strength 16
Dexterity 13
Constitution 12
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 17
Charisma 8
The 17 wisdom was obviously the 15 from the stats, with a +2 racial bonus boosting it to 17. Makes sense.
This means the 14 is your next highest number left; even spending the extra point on strength would only make it a 15.
The other way to go is to say that your 17 Wisdom is the result of the 14, a +2 racial bonus and the +1 point Sully gave.
We're still left with a 15 as the next highest stat. From what I can tell, your statline should look like this (and perhaps it was just a typo and this is what you intended-
Strength 15
Dexterity 13
Constitution 12
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 17
Charisma 8
CMB and CMD are a little off base, but thats not relevant until we figure out what your strength score is. If my assumption that you meant to have strength listed at 15 is correct, CMS is correct at +3 (+1BAB, +2 Strength) but CMD is incorrect at 13, and is in fact 14 (+1 BAB, +2 Strength, +1 Dexterity).
Sorry to go all rules lawyer on you as my first post to you :), congratulations on getting the place and see you in the IC and OOC thread.
