Hello all. New to Pathfinder, but not gaming. Used to play AD&D 2E in my high school days. Took a break from gaming during college to get serious about completing my education. Now that I'm back into gaming, I've discovered Pathfinder and have bought the Core Rulebook and the Bestiary. I'm not sure if I want to invest a whole lot of money in Golarion, so I'm curious as to which paizo supplements I should look into getting next.

If you are interested in Golarion, then I would suggest that you look at the Gazeteer for now and wait for the new Campaign Setting book:Guide to the Inner Sea. This book is due out in September 2010 and will be updated to be compatible with the Core Rules. You may want to read up on the various Adventure Paths (AP's). From Council of Thieves onward they are written with the Core Rules taken into account. Crypt of the Everflame was the first PFRPG Module. I don't know what you are exactly looking for but these will get you started ith minimal investment of time and money. Welcome aboard.

Hmm, guess I should've stated my interests. As per player and GM options, what are currently available?
There's not a significant amount out yet that isn't tied to Golarion, since the RPG itself is still fairly new (Advanced Player's Guide, a Gamemastery Guide, and a second Bestiary coming out sometime this year). I imagine you'd be a bit limited to third-party PFRPG publishers or some older 3.5 edition books (but you'd have to do a slight amount of working to fiddle them into Pathfinder, but in most cases the changes should be trivial), if you're mainly looking for crunchy rules bits.

As per third party stuff, I don't mind so much.
For equipment and character options you can't go wrong with the material from 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming.

Crunch or fluff, doesn't really matter too much which.
If you like a nice mix of fluff and crunch, I'd go for Elves of Golarion and Dwarves of Golarion (Gnomes, Orcs, and Halflings also coming out this year). Great flavor, good crunch!
Also Gods & Magic has a lot of crunch (a spell and magic item for every god, and some spell rules for worshippers), if you're going with the core deities.

I can second both the 4WFG and Genius Guides recommendations. If you are looking for new races, Alluria Publishing has a Remarkable Races line with some interesting options. Rite Publishing has some nice races as well, along with a nice set of feats (101 feats) that cover new combat options and such. I am currently reading through the paladin and sorcerer Class Options from Reality Deviant Publications and am liking both of these.
As a note, you can see much of the OGC material from 4WFG, Alluria Publishing, and the Genius material in the character sheet in my profile. I am working to add more material from these publishers, as well as other OGC from Rite, Reality Deviants, Louis Porter Jr., and Tricky Owlbear (basically I add things as I acquire PDFs and/or the publishers provide material).

First of all, a link to what you're talking about would be extremely helpful for anyone wanting to help. I think I found the page you were looking at. Is it this one? If not, please post the appropriate link so that we can direct you from there.
Did your son tell you what kind of books he's looking for? The ones that I've linked to are the rulebooks. These are generic rules instead of being tied to the game world. Their are other supplements pertaining to information that specifically pertains to fleshing out the game world. These product lines are the Player Companion for information most useful to players, and the Campaign Setting for information of the history and geography of the world at large, for use by the GM. There are a few other lines of products as well, but based on the description that you've given, I strongly suspect that your son is looking for Paizo's flagship product line, the Adventure Paths, of which there appear to be over 50 products available.
In the event that this is what he's looking for, please be aware that each "series" is a separate campaign, designed to take characters from level 1 to approx. 16 over the course of six monthly-published issues; as such, he may be looking for one or more issues in a specific series. Some of the older ones were printed for D&D 3.5, before the Pathfinder ruleset existed. The most first of these, Rise of the Runelords, was exceedingly popular and has been out of print for a long time. There's a special edition 5-year anniversary hardcover re-print of that adventure path being released in July. I only mention that one because, if it happens to be what he wants, that'll be the easiest way to get it. All the others are readily available through Paizo's webstore or a third-party seller such as e-Bay or Amazon.
I apologize for the massive wall of text, and I hope this has been helpful. If not, feel free to clarify the question a bit, and either myself or one of the other helpful members of the forums would be glad to help you out.
