My players went for "Heart of Westcrown". It's only while reading this thread that I realised the appropriateness of two PCs and a bunch of low level expert craftsmen and dockworkers who challenge evil and tyranny being called... HOW?
Yup I'm running it as written with just two very brave, if somewhat pessimistic player characters. So far they have mannaged to survive til the fat lady sings.

How that happenened:
My PCs thought that attacking hellknights was a terrible idea. I'd even set things up so that Janiven had rescued them from a sticky situation before leading them to Vizio's Tavern, but their gratitude only went so far. They did the sewer run and met back up in the old shrine of Aroden, but when she proposed attacking the hellknights they drew the line and walked out. Arael is still in the custody of the hellknights, though they've begun pursuing diplomatic means of effecting his release.
While wandering the town they started to get really sick of the prejudice expressed against tieflings. A whole lot of people didn't even seem to realize they were doing it, including some otherwise nice and good people. So when they found out about a gang of tieflings, they arranged an ambush of an outgoing team and then approached the headquarters in the Dead Zone very openly, with hostages. This led to them actually being able to have a conversation with Palaveen (the leader), and they arranged a longer talk in a neutral spot outside of town with a view to a longer term alliance.
Of course, the Children of Westcrown got wind of that and arranged an ambush, so not everything went as planned. Palaveen is now dead, and Dravano the Digger leads the Bastards of Erebus. It looks like the PCs will even be hiring a squad of the Bastards as escorts when they go on an upcoming dungeon crawl.
So yeah, the Bastards are more of an ally group to the PCs then the Children of Westcrown are.

While the party decided on a insignia (red eyes, red horns and red half-face mask), they decided to wait until word of their deeds got to the town folk and see what the people of Westcrown decide to call them, then take the best name of those making the rumor circles and use it.
I have a feeling people are going to get confused by what is pretty clearly a demonic insignia that is looking to help the people, but that's what the party is doing.
To make it worse, the magus in the group is using Arcane Mark with his spellstrike to stamp this insignia on everyone they fight, including the entire hellknight garrison that was escorting Areal (yes, the CR 7 version) to which the party defeated without killing a single guard (although I did have to allow a hero point to reroll the max damage on a confirmed crit to make sure that one guard didn't get gutted from full hp to beyond his negative Con.)

My players went with the Heirs of Westcrown. They felt that Children of Westcrown sounded like a band of orphans. They did go with the black and white striped scarves and hoods though. That winter (IRL) a couple of my players started wearing black and white striped scarves around, which I was happy with.

NECRO!!!
My players named their team the "Protectors of the Night"!
Their sigil a minted coin/coaster with the full moon, and the traditional crest of Westcrown on the face of the moon, with a crown (reminiscent of the crown of pre-Thrune Cheliax) resting atop it.
They are working on their hero-costumes.

RE-NECRO!!!
Recro?
Anyway, my players went with "The Children of Anarchy". Arael didn't care for it, which made it all the better since the PCs overall really don't like him. (His racist slights against tieflings was noticed, and he ain't recovering from it, regardless of what healing he gives.)
There's even some debate in the group about dumping Arael and the others since "We're the ones doing all the work." Janiven's been trying to keep things smooth between the PCs and him, and it's holding things together by just a thread. I wouldn't be surprised if a subplot came up with Arael getting chucked out and some NPC duties got reshuffled. It's going to tough enough as-is to keep the PCs on-track with what's coming up. After going through the play, one of the PCs already wants to shoot Arael. (GM: "You're not evil." / PC: "I said 'shoot'. Not kill.... For now.") Yeah, it doesn't help since she's a tiefling... and justified.
Dear lord, this is going to be Second Darkness all over again.

I'd say "Got for it!".
Let the players get rid of Arael and take over the Children of Anarchy. Make sure Janiven stays with them so you still have a guiding hand o0ver the actions of the group.
