You know what I'm going to do, Lilith? Every post on this messageboard, I'm smnrfing. Over, and Over, and Over. If the mods delete it for being off-topic or inappropriate, I win.
You know what I think, JareBear? You should TOTALLY go to war with the Paizo staff here on the boards. Just smnrf your little heart out on every thread, all the time. That will show them.
The JareBear sallies forth to WAR!!! He will WIN!!!

The "$murf" is used to try an calm down an situation without having to resort to the thread getting shut down or (at worst) people getting banned.
Yeah, instead of letting adult people take the consequences of their actions and words...
No one has asked the $murfers to come in and "police" the situation.

Well, the OP has been trying to get his own thread back on course but people decide to take it off course with all the religion vs. secularism bile and name calling. When people start getting personal and throwing insults and namecalling and other crap, then the smvrfs come out. If people want to sling the fecal diatribe, there's other places for that. One can always start up their own discussion in a separate thread and let the OP have his.
That's my $0.02.
This. It's pretty hypocritical for those of us who have engaged in a discussion about homosexual civil rights vs. religion in this thread to accuse anybody of threadjackery, since the OP had zilch to do with the 1st topic and was only tangentially related to the 2nd. Hit the little blue 1 at the bottom and scroll all the way up if you can't remember what this thread was originally about.
I posted something to this effect earlier, but it was the last post on a page, so I doubt anybody saw it. Sometimes a thread needs to be jacked. It's the Internet equivalent of a Senate filibuster when the discussion just gets absurd. It's merciful like putting down Ole Yeller.
With that said, SMURF.

Not that I've been reading this thread. Because I haven't. And you're all jerks. So, whatever you have to say, say it to the back of my head, because you'll never see me here ever again.
Ever.
And I mean it this time.
Wait, is this another post from Sebastian?
Who won the bet?

Ah-hah! Someone responded. Now I'm justified in coming back to respond one more time. Not that I was reading or following the thread. I just happened to overlook my co-worker's screen (Naitsabes, who, as he pointed out, is a different person from me) and saw this message.
Now that I've made my point, I'm done with this thread forever.
Seriously.
It's not like I'm going to keep saying this over and over again to make fun of people who say they're all done but then post again. That'd be too much work.
This time, I'm really done.

If it makes you feel better, every time I $murf, you can interpret that to mean "someone on this thread is such a douchebag that I can't be bothered to write a nasty post in response to them." Part of the fun is figuring out who that douchebag is!
Edit: Also, this post doesn't count. The one before it counts as my last post. This is like an addendum or something...

It's like someone jumping in between two people talking and yelling "LALALALALALALALA" while putting his fingers in his ears. Don't like a thread? Don't post in it. Should be a fairly simple rule to follow. See something offensive? Report it and move on.Jared Ouimette wrote:dmchucky69 wrote:What I don't get is, if they don't like it, why don't they just not read it? And they call me immature. If the Mods feel like it is getting out of hand they'll lock the thread, or someone posts something offensive, flag it. Don't be a pi$$ant.I'll stay out of the main argument, as my feelings have been stated on here before regarding Christianity (not a big fan). But I have to make an observation on the whole $murfization of this thread (and so many others before it).
Isn't doing the "$murf thing" the messageboard equivalent of looking down on two people fighting and taking a piss on them? It seems absurd at the least, and pretty damn rude and arrogant at the worst. It certainly does nothing to cool the emotions of those that are still fighting in your urine downpour down below. Just an observation....
I've asked that question before. I didn't get an answer then either.
LALALALALALALALA!

As for the OP getting his thread back, flooding the thread with Smnrfs doesn't achieve that.
Another option is for each person who is interested in the OP's topic to post on it and just ignore the other posts.
Considering the overwhelming majority of posts are replies to other posts, if enough people are interested in the OP's post, this will cut down off topic discussion significantly.I, for one, will reply to whatever post(s) are the most interesting.

I'm putting $10 down on the mods ignoring him and letting him cry it out. I think he'll tire before they care enough to do anything.

I could flag you and see if they decide to make you lose $10 just for fun. :)

What does a pony need enemies for?

Making your own posts of certain type just so you can then $murf the thread in response doesn't count.
