I'm surprised you didn't get busted for this. :)

We'll blame it on his students papers driving him nuts and let it slide this time.

I consider this a non-edited environment. I usually only worry about being that anal with my writing here when I am in an argument, so that no distractions enter the argument. Of course, it's been a while since I got in an argument around here. Hopefully, it doesn't mean my stock's gone down. ;-P

People wanted to leave you a piece of the action. It's a respect thing.

That's one of the funniest things I've read today.

See? I was here for ya, man.

I appreciate it. Truly.

I'm off to bed. I have an hour and an half drive tomorrow, and I want to be somewhat alert for the interview.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks to everyone concerning the familial issues. I really appreciate it.

For the most part, I am used to it. But then you have days like Mother's Day when you can't help but get angry about it.

I am in a similar situation, Gregg. My family is distant, cold, and generally small. Meanwhile, my partner's family is closely knit and a bit larger. They have adopted me into their ranks, which helps a great deal.

Appear, blasted posts!

Taig: Good luck.

Alleynbard: Sure thing. A lot of us have found the Fawtly family a helpful place to vent. Is your partner someone we know? Not trying to be overly nosy, just trying to keep the players straight.

Evening all. Frost warnings up for us here, not in the same league as tornados but distressing to a gardener nonetheless.
Chilly here too. It won't get down to freezing, but it we are expecting a low of 47 and rain.

I threw on a long sleeve shirt and jeans and ended up working outside putting out 13 bags of mulch over the landscaping. One more off the honey-do list. :P

I know you're in the middle of all of that packing. When's the official big move date? The sooner the better, I imagine!

Well, we close between the 20th to the 27th. We are hoping for the earlier date over the later one.

The first step is getting in there, stripping wallpaper and doing some painting. After that, we want to move in as quickly as possible. :)

Currently the neighbors who live in the townhome next to ours are obnoxious and rude. I will not miss them.

The only real question is, will we start on the game room decor before we move in or wait till later. We want to do something crazy up there, like turning the room into a "tavern". We have chosen the lighting fixtures, which includes some track lighting and great hanging fixture that looks like a wood chandelier set with candles. The idea is to create false beams for the walls and ceiling, replace the doors, and paint the walls like plaster. But we will see how much money we have to execute our vision before move-in time.

No, he doesn't really hang out here. He isn't much of a message board guy.

He does love gaming though. In fact, I introduced him to the whole experience and he took to it quickly. I think that fact alone has led to a very strong relationship, never mind the other things that bind us together. This October will mark our 9th year together.

For reference, here is a picture of him and myself. I am the one on the left and he is on the right.

It is nice to occasionally vent about these things. Thank you again. You have my sympathies concerning the loss of your mother. I don't know how long ago that was, but I understand those wounds never truly heal. I lost a grandmother who was very much like a mother to me and I still miss her deeply.

Mmmm....coffee.

Liberty's Edge

Well, I should be heading to bed. Everyone have a good night and take care.

Ah, very good, AB. That actually helps me in another dept as well! (I think since there is more than one person on these boards named after a certain famous bard, I sometimes confuse my memories of different people.)

If you haven't listened to Rone's rant about grief and love not healing, you should give it a listen! Good night.

Final done and posted! Night lovey's! :D

Gratz and good luck with it!

I should have worked tonight. But I didn't. I'm glad somebody did.

Liberty's Edge

Had an emergency with a fallen tree almost taking out our fence this afternoon. High winds snapped it and it was ready to fall into our neighbors' yards, possibly taking out the fences for three houses.

Good news, the tree is out and we've found a company that might be able to help us with our landscaping.

Ergh. Unhappy crying daughter post. WTF time is it?

Good morning Fawtly'ers. Started walking this week for exercise and now have made it two days in a row. Woot for exercise.

Gotta keep up with all my fellow fawtly'ers who are getting into shape. Otherwise, I just run out of breath too soon during those post blitzes.

Remembers that he has to continue with getting back in shape

Gooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!!

Nothing much to ramble about today. It's a Tuesday. I've got to get some stuff over to mom's so she can continue sueing her upstairs neighbor for that water damage, and oh yeah, the tax rebate came in, so I have to give my treacherous storage unit company "their" money. That they wouldn't take it at the end of last month still burns me up. Bastards. Ah well, no sense getting upset about it now. Paying the bill now gives me a chance to get on a better schedule with that particular bill so that I don't accrue any late charges from here on in. I'll also be looking at the calendar to see when I can go down to SC to see my dad and a friend of mine I've known for years but never actually met...Maybe sometime at the beginning of next month?

Argh! Too much rain! And I think I've killed yet another umbrella. We have had exceptionally strong winds this year.

On the bright side, I did make it to the library, all by my lonesome so nobody was trying to hurry me up as I made my book selections. :)

Shame that trip to SC isn't occurring the weekend of the 22nd-23rd...

Which is the main reason why I prefer going to any/all book establishments as a solo (mis)adventure. :)

Morning, all!

I have to decide when I'm going to suck it up and get my wisdom teeth out.

Spoilered because it's a little gross:

Spoiler:
So, obviously I'm a little older than most people are who get their wisdom teeth out. There's actually plenty of room for them, but wisdom teeth are particularly prone to decay. I know they have cavities, and for the past few years, my dentist has been saying they should come out, although it hasn't been a priority.

A few months ago, one of them developed a giant hole. I've kind of been ignoring it, but in the past week or so, it is now leaving a nasty taste in my mouth. (I said it would be a little gross.)

I have so much to do coming up, with my partner's brother's big wedding this weekend, two big concerts in June, and the Italy trip during the summer, and I was hoping I could hold out until August. Now I'm worried that if I go to Italy without doing something about it, I could have a big problem while I'm out of the country. But I just don't know when or how I'll deal with it before then. And time off work is very scarce for me right now...

Silver Crusade

Oh, I also didn't update on the "bachelor party/dinner" from Saturday. It turned out to be very nice - the place where we went had live jazz, and the food was good. The maid of honor's boyfriend who I was worried about was actually on his best behavior, and I was thoroughly impressed. He even bought a round of drinks.

The tab was actually a little less than we were anticipating, but we made a huge mistake. We kind of needed to pay it quickly and discretely before someone could protest, and in our haste, we didn't notice that gratuity was included :/ We made that waitress's day...

Heh. My arms and shoulders (esp. shoulders) are sore this morning.

Ick. I'm sorry about that. Teeth trouble is always the worst. But it sounds like there might be an infection so you should really get that dealt with as soon as possible. We wouldn't want you ending up in the hospital over this.

Yeah, it is nice. :)

I usually have to bring the kidlet along when I go to the library, but he still hadn't finished the comics he checked out the last time we went, so I got to go by myself for a change. :)

The good news is, it is theoretically the last bit of dental work I need. Then I will be caught up! (Until something else goes terribly wrong, of course.)

I had a long stretch without dental insurance, and when I finally went back, I had 11 unfilled cavities. I've spent more time at the dentist's office in the last few years than anyone should.

It really bugged me when I realized that the famous character from Little Shop of Horrors has been given at least two names, so you can't depend on everyone getting a reference to the Jack Nicholson/Bill Murphy character.

I think we just got a glimpse of Dr. Leafy's stream-of-consciousness right there...

It's more of a rich inner sea. Right now I'm just dog-paddling while I have my coffee.

Hmmm. I think it's time to make some of that yummy jasmine tea I got for mother's day. :)

Chai is good, but I'm preferring this jasmine tea right now. And of course I brewed up a big pot of chocolate rooibus tea that's cooling right now so I can have it iced later. :)

I'm trying to give up soda, so I'm drinking a lot more tea these days.

AAH! They make CHOCOLATE ROOIBUS?!?!? That's unfair, I haven't had any yet!!!

I am having some nice strong mint tea myself, like my hero, Harsk!
