I think we have an amazing batch of items. Now you never know what that means, but I think it means we will have an amazing batch of authors behind them that we can watch compete and create and grow as developers. Its going to be great. I have to say, I was pleased with the item. Even the alts had some great spark.
I am really really excited to see how this contest goes this year. I think it is going to give us some great contestants.

...and you're so excited about things that you're going to post the top 32 right here and now? I won't tell anybody! It's great to know that so many people have done such great work, I can't wait to read the top 32.
I have to say, it's much more exciting to follow this contest in real time than it was just reading through the other ones after the fact. :D

Arg!
Just announce the winners and let the following rounds begin already. The suspense is killing me!
*dies of suspense*
Sorry PsionicFox! Clark is a master at this. (He is a notorious evil DM after all.) He's poking the bear, jerking the chain, stirring up the hornet's nest and offering food and water to Tantalus.
That he's also this excited means that the next round is going to be even more fun. I really am glad it's Sunday so we can see what the next round will be on Tuesday. However, the anticipation also helps build excitement and interest.

As to the items, I think that the fact that you made it clear so early on after entries opened that what you were looking for was 'mojo' may have helped or encouraged some people who might otherwise have stayed cautious and done items for an item book... :)
Sadly, I think that there will be at least one comparatively disappointing Round 2 entry, owing to the 'literally only three days to think and submit' and some of the Round 2 entrants being in the position of not even having expected to make Round 2, as compared to the weeks or months that everyone in theory has had of thinking time to hone items. :-?Anyway, we'll see how it goes.
(Just please let's not have 32 several thousand word countries to read through for Round 2, again.... :D)
Edit:
Yay for awesome, though!
