Tired of having to stuff your dragon mount into a stat box designed for a horse? Need a sheet for your new eidolon to include those evolutions? Hate having to stop the game and look up values every time something is sundered? Would you like a sheet that takes care of that? Now Advanced Character Portfolio (PFRPG) is finally here! This is not just another updated sheet from 3.5 to Pathfinder Role Playing Game, this new design was taken from the suggestions of the Pathfinder Role Playing Game online community. Using half sheet printing, you can print what you need and leave out the stuff you don't! Even better, this sheet was designed with the new playtested APG classes in mind! As the updates progress, so will this portfolio, so be sure to subscribe to updates! Here are a few of the innovative new features included in this sheet:

• The main page is split into a condensed sheet for used during gameplay, and a sheet for adding up totals separate. Totals are readily available with room for buffs or short term mods, with the totals are still easily accessible for changes without taking up space on the main sheet. A traditional single sheet is also included. Both are available in landscape and portrait orientation. There is also a section for bleed (can be used for regenerating too), many weapons and ammo slots, both weapons and armor/shields have a spot for HP & hardness, and even a spot for resistance/immunities to energy types (blank spot for poison or such).

• The inventory sheet includes a diagram for slotted magic items, as well as slots for kits/tools and containers (handy for an alchemist or rogue). Gear and expendable items are separated with plenty of lines and consumable/reusable magic items also have an area for tracking uses (perfect for wands or staffs). Landscape and portrait orientation.

• The traditional classic "Racial Trait, Feat/Flaw, Class Ability" sheet has been broken into half sheets for building your own sheets based on preference. There are also popular combinations included. The following half sheets are currently available in addition to the basics: Feat chains, Spellcasters, manifesters (psionic), familiars, compainion / mount, & psicrystals. (Eidolons are included too, but this takes up a full page).

• A fully functional adventure log / campaign journal is highly organized to track your progress. Included are: An overview sheet, a sheet for each two sessions, a location reference, a contact reference, job reference, long-term task sheet, rewards reference, and even a sheet for keeping track of default setups (in town I wear breastplate, sleeping I wear chainmail, my animal companion goes into the wild while I'm in town, etc). Landscape and portrait orientation.

Available Now at RPGNow.com!!!

Looks interesting and like you guys covered most everything people was looking for. But then with 75 pages of character sheet options to choose from I guess you would cover just about anything anyone is looking for.

Is it save-able file, that I can save with data entered, then update later as things change? The description doesn't say. Is it a PDF?
Is there any auto-calculation of sums or skill bonuses based on ability bonuses and ranks, or attacks based on BAB, mods and weapons, etc?

Are you allowed to divulge details of that agreement? ie. which products are available on which websites?

really, didn't know they had restricted stuff like that. Oh well. :)

Well, I will make a note of it then. When I get back into a game I will pick it up. mmmm maybe a pbp game...

Greetings all... I'm Karl with Wicked K Games. To answer some questions, I put a link up to the other page as well. Here is the thread link.

Bob Duncanson - This is in .pdf format. Concerning auto-calcuation and fillable fields, the will be available in an update, but first the size of the file must be reduced without a great loss of detail.

There is more information on the other thread, but I hope to bring over the discussion from that thread to this, as it is no longer a question of development as much as the current product improving.

I also wanted to say we have enjoyed our partnering with Louis Porter Jr Design and look forward to future product releases as well. This is a link to a blog entry concerning partnerships. He is fair and helpful, and if any of you are thinking of developing a product, I'd highly recommend working with him.

Does the purchase price include lifetime updates? I saw something about the subscription list, so I figured some updates were included, just wasn't sure exactly what that meant.

Thanks for the nice comment. I like working with start up and small RPG companies to me there is nothing more interesting and fun. I remember the excitement of getting that first product out.

undeadlord wrote:

Unless I am mistaken, I believe as long as the product location remains the same, updates will be available. It is my intention for all purchasers to have updates, as this is what I would expect out for purchasing a product. I'd like to add that when the Adv. Players Guide is released and other such products, I will be making updates versus the final product.

As posted in the previous thread, I plan to adapt for whatever is in high demand, the only thing I will try to avoid is individual class sheets. There are so many viable 3.5 converts and pathfinder base classes emerging, not only is this too much to keep up with, but it isn't very flexible. Tis better to have sheets that this applies to.

That's not to say if they came out with something open content like psionics or a new mechanic or spellcasters, I wouldn't be willing to include it. In fact, I'd want to! The kits/tools section was inspired by the alchemist class. Hope that helps answer the question.

No Problem! I believe a positive experience deserves positive praise. I really hope this helps someone else to start up too. :D

EDIT: I'd really like to know anyone's opinion who has purchased the product, say three pros and three cons? It'd help to improve the product in future updates. Thanks!

Now currently #2 on the RPGNow.com Top 100. See it here!!!!

That is AWESOME! I just had to say... :) For everyone that has purchased this or contributed, I just want to give a big thank you!

Pros:

1.) Really a ton of info here, I mean right now its 75 pages long, so thats alot of formats and ways to setup your own perfect sheet portfolio. Thats a real bonus.

2.) Free updates and upgrades ... can't beat that.

3.) A creator who is vocal and looks for feedback. Thats very important to me as a gamer.

Cons:

1.) I didn't realize, and I am sure its my own fault for not reading closely enough, that all this PDF work was also for the basic fact that the lines and boxes would be fillable. They don't appear to be and honestly thats a real letdown. My handwriting, especially that small is horrible. These are unusable to me for now until and if an update ever comes out that allows all the boxes and lines to be fillable in PDF form.

2.) Price $4.99??? You are cheating yourself :) Charge more ... not alot more, but I would have paid $9.99 (for fillable boxes and lines and updates for the foreseeable future) I know that sounds silly, but there is some truth to the idea that people think cheap = bad and expensive = good. I would revised your RPGnow ad and really tried to show off the product more in the text. I had no idea from the RPGnow text that the PDF was 75 pages and included all this ...

3.) Did I mention the boxes and lines aren't fillable? :)

I haven't bought it yet but it is on my list of things to buy in the near future. When i do I will let you know what I think, the good and the bad.

I just purchased it, now that I know updates will be free for the foreseeable future... I'm not going to replace my fillable Neceros Sheet just yet, as I prefer typed to printed data. BUT I will be using the supplemental sheets for now...

I'm very much looking forward to the form-fillable update.

Dark_Mistress - I think your blank sheet idea has been growing on me even more since starting this, as I have converted the eidolon sheet for this.

Undeadlord - Thanks for reviewing this!

Actually the fillable text is being worked on now, and if that is the chief con, I'm glad to here it. I think that as more content is added and the form becomes autocalc the price point may change, but for now I think that the price is fair enough for me. I orignally mention in the other thread that I'm a stay at home dad, and not looking to become rich, but wanting to provide a great product at a fair price.

As stated in the previous thread, there are things coming that will make this even better that I didn't have time to complete before releaing (all wants though, not needs). I wanted to point out most of my playtester had large handwriting and couldn't wait for the forms, but it's on it's way!

I think there is one thing about format though, I think the international/A4 format will be seperately sold from the US Letter, as it will require a bit more work to convert and the fillable boxes will take as long as starting from scratch.

EDIT: Marshall - Thanks! I understand your postition, and hope to release the fillable/saveable sheets asap.

I don't think $9.99 a sheet will make you rich :) but I do understand your point. I think an auto-calcing sheet should have a new price. Heck, if I were you, seeing what I have seen from The Only Sheet and other for-sale sheets, I would get the fillable & auto-calcing sheet ready. Then give away the original sheet for free. You hook people with the awesome design and flexibility of your sheet and get your name spread far and wide. Then you KNOW people will want the fancy new sheets that do it all and they are willing to pay 10 bucks to get them because they know exactly what they are getting.

I think splitting the A4/US Letter is a good idea. You do a great job bookmarking the PDF's to make them easy to find, but the A4 stuff is gone for me and all I am looking at is the US Letter then my life is just that much easier.

Thats my armchair CEO :) I think you have a great product and looking forward to it improving and maturing.

Wicked K Games wrote:

Threadjacking a little, but do you have any other products you plan to offer in the near future in the pipeline?

UndeadLord -
I've always liked the auto-calc sheets, even back to the singing sheet I used in 3e. I appreciate your praise and will do my best to live up to it. Most poeple will be using either US Letter or A4 depending where they live, but I know my friends in europe chargrin everytime they buy a product and have to print it out all squished and skewed to fit the different formats. That's why I wanted to do these seperate (besides the fact it looks silly stretched out). I just wanted to note that anything I release will be updated as needed in addition to the character portfolio. I'm overhauling the initiative cards now. :D

Urizen -
By all means, threadjacking is just fine with me. :) I know other people may have developed something similar on these, but these are the things I've started on:

Initiative Cards: I've already released this, but they warrant an overhaul as is, and I've been working on that as well. Should be done within the week. I like the idea of having cards that are seperate for storytelling and combat. I have an idea for a game mechanic I'll be pitching to LPJr soon that may be included in these in the near future.

Spell Cards: I'm wanting to release a set of spell cards that include hand gestures for somatic components and three or four spoke words for verbal components. In games I've played I've always enjoyed spellcaster theatrics and find it adds it's own flavor over just saying "I cast magic missile at the darkness...". Originally I was thinking three languages for the types of words based on caster (arcane, divine, nature), butI'm not sure if this will be too much work. Latin and Gaelic type words seem appropriate.

Summon Cards: Second, I really want to make a set of summon cards with augment summon and the creature templates available. I can't stress how unnerving it is as a GM to have a each player summon a creature and pass the book around the table looking up it's stats each turn. This may be just me, but I think there has to be a better way.

Power Cards: This is something I've dabbled with, but I'd like to wait until either paizo spit-shines this or someone else really does a good conversion (open content) before delving much further here.

Well i wouldn't say blank so much as i would love to see retypible. Like where it says strength if their was a way to type in someone else. Not that I see that getting used much but every little thing it does makes someone happy.

My two big things was a couple of blank lines for Stats, skills etc. where I could type in a extra stat and keep it with the rest or more skills(for games with steam punk tech for example).

Making everything retypable would help with that a lot, adding a couple of blank boxes in certain spots, and then make it type save printable.

Thats my dream sheet. :)

So this is what I have...

7 ability lines, 4 ac lines, 4 save lines, & 48 skill lines, 6 movement boxes, all can be retyped! Is there any other specific areas I missed? If you have a bit of a mock-up of what you want done, my email is on the old thread...

Thats cool and yeah thats kinda what i was talking about basically. I won't use all the options but some, but I am sure others would use some. I wasn't asking for something made just for me, more of one set up so anyone could more easily customize it to their games if need be. I in the past have always just made my own custom sheets in openoffice with tables for each game, changing them when needed.

But one like what you are describing would save me a ton of work.

Nothing is coming to mind, but after I buy the sheet hopefully next week I will see if I notice anything I feel is missing.

[A bit of threadjack myself] I just finished revamping the init cards. I'll link it up and we'll probably add a preview, after the new version is updated. I had a compact card included, but got rid of it in favor of a better style.

Dark_Mistress - Almost finished with the retypable page as well... more to come later. :)

Here's a crazy question... is there anyone playing pathfinder in a non-english language? My friend plays D&D in german. Just curious...

Just another note on the init cards, if there are three cards on front, it's not the updated copy, it's the old one. The overhauled copy has 4 cards on the cover... the newer version is WAY better. I had much more experience under my belt the second time around. Just FYI.

Wicked K Games wrote:

I´m not playing currently, mainly due to time constraints, but sure look forward to playing more again. If I do so, it will most probably be in german.

There is a german translation team for pathfinder, working for Ulisses Spiele. I don´t know if they have any capacity for more translations, though, if that is what you are looking for. Some of them happen to be posting on these boards now and then.
Starting next week, I have more time at my hands, and own both the English and the German version of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, so I might be able to help you there.

Judging from the preview on RPGnow, it is a very thorough character portfolio, probably leaving nothing to be desired.

Much appreciated. I think it's great there are other language versions of Pathfinder out there. In working on the A4 format sheet I thought it may be thoughtful to have the text in the sheets in other languages as well (german and spanish have been mentioned here in my houston games). I appreciate the offer... thanks! :D

I contributed some ideas on the development thread, and I want (want, want, want, want, WANT) this, but RPGnow keeps sending me back to the payment option page over and over, like it won't take my debit card.

I had the same problems with RPGNOW.COM, type in DRIVETHRURPG.COM. It's a mirror site, and they have the same exact things, but they're marketing is different on both. Your account login works on both and so does downloading. I apprecated the support and development ideas Chris, and I really hope you like the psionic pages. They're seperately located at the back because psionics is in mixed use right now and those who want it will print it seperate. (bookmarks make it easier to navigate to).

PS... I'm gonna try playing a mindblade as my next character if my rogue/swashbuckler(Tome of Secrets) version dies. :D

By the way, here's the link so the new cards with the previews. The preview always squishes landscape, but you get the idea. I print tested these with 4x6 cards and US Letter sheets. The double printing always works best when you flip it width wise (skinny sides). If anybody has used this let me know... :D

yeah, I always use drivethrurpg, some reason it always works on my computer, I never have a problem sending in my order and downloading the files as opposed to rpgnow.

UndeadLord - I think this would be best. I'm really keen on having players fill out cards and keeping them in a box like recipes with 4x6 cards. I'm sure some others are fond of this too. I made sure the borders are 0.5" at least so it will print well on non-borderless printers, and for those who don't want to fuss there's full sheets. These are intended for double sided printing, but I was thinking it might be neat to have sheets for 5x7 cutouts and maybe even A4.

Urizen, Paul, & Sepulcher - Agreed, I never really understood why though or even the diffence beyond the first page showcases. Different target audiences perhaps?

Just got it (and the initiative cards) and honestly, with products like this, and how Pathfinder itself turned out, I gotta ask, why don't more companies actively ask their customers for input? This sheet ROCKS. I'm really glad you included landscape versions of all the sheets, and the bookmarks for jumping from sheet to sheet are really well organized.

If you get the sheets to be fillable forms, I would honestly suggest upping the price point to $10. Seriously worth it.

Wicked K Games wrote:

I was under the impression that they were originally separate entities until one was bought out by the others? I guess they merged the available products, but kept the existing online storefronts. I'm sure there are others that readily know the answer than I do; I'm just making an educated guess.

I am honored to have such praise! :D I've always loved working with companies that listen, and it's the reason I went to Pathfinder vs all the other 3.5 changes. I really hope you find the psionic sheets and contingency page useful. I have four different things my players are beggin' for:

Spell Cards
Item Cards
Summon Cards

Verbal Battling Cards (using house rules, gonna check if open content)

Urizen - That makes a lot of sense actually. I even think there are other sites (like the guild of blades rpgnow).

Something I forgot to mention... did you like the journal sheets? We generally make a 2 letter mark to the link (example: On the Session Sheet => Location - Thieve's Den *2B... meaning the entry on the session sheet is located on the second location sheet, entry slot B). I hope that makes sense...

EDIT: Also, I'm going to add a "credits" sheet within the document. Everyone contributing on the thread that gave feedback will be included. It's my way of saying thanks to all of you helping me develop this.

As part of the contractual agreement with my illustrator Lauren Feehery, I had to put her name up front as illustrator. However, she's a really down to earth girl that fixed the pickle I had when my first illustrator left me high and dry. If anyone enjoyed the roguish guy on the cover and wants her to do any artwork, she's available for commisioned work at reasonable rates.

I'll use the psionics sheet next time I make a character. I think I'm gonna make a Wilder this time. My friend was talking about running the "Cormyr - Tearing of the Weave/Shadowdale - The Scouring of the Land/Anauroch - The Empire of Shade" campaign.

Spell cards would be my vote for next product. Caedwyr is working on a free set that look absolutely marvelous, but those are a while off from being done completely if I understand, and LJP still hasn't put out the Wizard/Sorcerer Spell Cards, which are what I'm waiting for.

Though Summon Cards would be great.

So the journal sheet is for players to make notes about areas they've explored? Awesome idea, but we'll see how it works in play. I love documentation, that way nothing gets forgotten, but too much paperwork is still too much paperwork.

I noticed that "temporary" is misspelled as "temperary" on at least two occasions on the sheets.

Otherwise: great work!

Thanks and good save! Thanks for pointing this out. I also fixed that not all the main info sheets go to the bottom with five extra slots. Page 59 & 60 half sheet's print borders are fixed too.

Here's a question for all...

Should the forms (as filled) popular all over the sheet or just be that one specific spot? For example, if I type 12 on the STR box on the main page, should all the main pages have 12 in the STR box too?
