My character is a half-orc.
My reading of the spell Boiling Blood (from Ultimate Magic) is
that if I cast it on myself (who has Orc blood) I gain the +2 bonus to Strength.
However if I cast it on an (non-orc, but blood-carrying) enemy, then that enemy suffers the boiling blood fire damage.
The combination comes at sixth level, when I'll be able to cast it on two
(later even more) creatures at once.
If I simultaneously cast it on both me and the nearby attacking non-orcs, then it seems to me that
- I get the buff to Strength, but
- they get the fiery pain.
Am I out of line in thinking that the one spell can help me and harm them in the same casting?
The frosting on this cake is that, as an Oracle of the Flame mystery with the revelation Burning Magic, every round that an enemy takes a point of fire damage, they burst into flames again for more ongoing fire damage.
