In fifty years, saying all this interweb crap exists somehow, is anybody going to read through it all, and say "HEY! CRIMSON JESTER TOTALLY PWNED HEATHANSSON IN 2010 ABOUT FISCAL POLICY! WHAT A CLOWN!"
No, they're not. They're going to plug into their vee ree body suits and go to the pleasure palace of the Green Orion women.
Almost none of this matters.
Damnit your making me damn near pee my pants here.
I was not just talking about on the interwebz. :)

IRL, I think (and I'm guilty recently) people
1 don't want to fight
2 know they themselves aren't perfect
3 don't change
4 don't tell others that stuff bothers them.
So. That thing you do, that somebody is telling you you do.....
you do it, they can't take it any more, it's time to fight.
Maybe they should've told you a long time ago, but they were trying to be cool.
Stuff has to reach boiling point before it's actionable. That requires time, to reach boiling point. Nobody gets concerned about anything until there's a full-blown crisis except me, and most people agree that I'm somewhat high-strung.
I think people put stuff off that's hard to deal with, and that's part of the problem.
I'm personally trying to teach myself to ONLY put unpleasant things off until such a time as I'm alert and rested enough to deal with them without blowing up.

Why is it people fight by using issues of the past, not the present?
One big reason: Because they count on the general ignorance of history to allow them to misuse the past to bolster their flimsy arguments.
EDIT: Sorry, CrimJ, I thought you were referring to some recent supposed argumentation on these boards.

(lol)
are we talking interpersonal stuff, or like"I pwn'd your illogical argument" stuff?
Some people remember history differently too. We often like to self-edit ourselves up onto a cross some how...

Maybe I am too high strung and repeated conflicts with similar results drive me nuts.
I also like how some um posters, post their opinions as facts, as well as using simple statements as logical/fallacy arguments in their favor even when they have little or no evidence to support them.
Or redirection. lmao.

A little of both. Some posters are just, tweaking my nerves a bit.
IRL my wifes cousins who just happened to get all the family farm land and then just happened to loose it all in one year. Now the family are all up in arms against each other. Are they having issues about the land being lost. No it is everything else that is past and gone several years now.

I pretty much stay apathetic to the majority of posters. They don't know me in RL and I don't know them. Not worth wasting my breath or anger on them. I can't change them from being the drones they choose to be. I'm here to have fun. There may be hiccups along the way, but it happens. I have enough crap to deal with in RL that makes anything on the internet insignificant (unless I was a celebrity, of course).
As for the loss of land.... tell me about it. I get headaches each year with my siblings when it comes to dealing with estate trusts. It's not a loved one's death that I dread; it's the schisms following the deceased's will being executed. It brings out vultures.

You on FB at all?
Technically. Really, I just hop on, use my energy in Castle Age and Mafia Wars, then hop back off. I'm not really the social type.

Yeah, I see that. We'll work on that. :D

And I, having little to no life, have now responded to that. Now, I return to studiously ignoring just about everything in Facebook.

Heh. Reminds me of myself to a degree. 19-20 years of age was a pivotal turning point to be a bit more social. But I still ignore a lot of the FB content as noise despite whatever it is I subscribe to. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to squelch it.

Seen it. Liked it. But I have a weakness for romantic comedies. Most of them are awful, but I watch them anyways. No accounting for taste. ;)

Hrmmmm.....snowed last night. Man, I hate this stuff. Now I've got to go out in a bit and clean off the damn car, maybe put down a bit of salt. Luckily, it's only about 1-2 inches. I hoping it's the powedery stuff.
Plus, I woke up with a bit of a sore back. Not sure how the hell that happened. I didn't even drink last night.
But I did watch lost, which was really f#@%ed up, but good. Lots of commercials though.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about and I have an algorithm breakdown to prove it...

The Stormwind Fallacy says otherwise.
