I considered this, but there's actually no functional difference (at least among the core classes) unless you're worried about druids wanting to go EK, which I'm not. :) Either way, monks and rogues both qualify for the weapon condition; it's just a feat tax to make the EK less attractive for your average otherwise-single-classed wizard, so there's really no difference between requiring Exotic vs. Martial and I defaulted to the KISS principle.

Still harder to enter than Abjurant Champion!

Speaking of which:

Sor 2/Ftr 4/AbjCh 4/EK 10 is probably the best way to go for a gish build IMO. lose 1 BAB and one level of spells at 20th.

15th level castimg for a sorcerer is 7th level spells rather than 8th.

Oh yeah, I forgot that EKs skip first level in spell progression.

Nonetheless for a 20 level build and not using Duskblade, thats about the best you'll get. Even if Abjurant Champion is cheese.

Now use any of these builds, and take Sacred Vow and Vow of Poverty.

Why nerf yourself? Assumign your DM is giving you even close to standard wealth by level you loose out.

I'd be willing to enter a debate on that. Money you can't use can be donated to a temple of your deity, thus ensuring at least a discount on healing and spells should you need it.

Bonus to ability scores, attack and damage rolls, various AC bonuses, not needing to eat or breath, endure elements and energy resistance? Eschew Materials will help you get around carrying spell components, or you can use experience points in place of costly material componenets(1exp for every 5gp). I really don't see anything wrong with taking this path.

If you are in a low magic campaign, then sure. But if you are in a standard magic/wealth or higher you owudl be better off without it.

Possible exception being get vow of poverty at 20 after you ahve used up all yoru wealth on Tomes.

While you can get enhancement bonuses with VoP, you do not get the inherant bonuses from tomes. With vow you are talking for stats +8,+6,+4,+2. With money you have a tome and an Item for +11 to your primary stat.

Vow does give a lot, but IMHO if you are doing standard wealth, and ESPECIALLY if you have craft feats, you do better without VoP. This from someone who did play a VoP to relatively high level as a cleric.

Hi,

I've been switching with our group over to PF (currently playing ROTRL) but we don't have the Book yet (not in Queensland, Australia yet) so have been using th SRD.

Oh you Fibber. Both I and one of my players have a copy.

That said. Where in Queensland are you?

Batts

Townsville. Comics Haven doesn't have it as of last week. Gotta check this weekend.

wow. Small world. I Got Mine from comics haven about 4 weeks ago (But then again, I've had Pathfinder on Order since before Kerry took it over)

And speaking of which...Do we know each other? We must have crossed paths at some point. Are you a member of either of the clubs?

Batts

Hi, i'm the aforementioned player with the book. Yeah I've had it for over a month now i think. Now to be fair i got it at Gencon from the Paizo booth (I GOT IT SIGNED :D) but yeah it's still available in Queensland. Townsville however you're out of luck unless you can convince the lady in Comics Haven to get a copy in for you but shop around you can probably get it cheaper. Hell if you order straight from here you will get it cheaper.

My copy just came in. Still Drooling....

Decided to go with Ftr1/Wiz6(Focused Conjurer)/SplSwrd3/EK10

BAB 17, CL 17

Has 10 Standard Feats +2 Flaws + Human
1 Ftr Feat
1 Wiz Bonus Feat
3 EK Feats (stack with fighter levels)

I really have no idea what to do with these.
Thought about TWF Scimitar route but my Rogue/Fighter does it alot better with MASSIVE damage.

Maybe B/C melee?

Group any ideas?
I know my spells will focus on Battle control, so DC's aren't a concern. The only Meta feat I'm interested in is Scuplt spell but unsure if you have to select the new shape at time of prep or casting.

Remember- open book policy.

Well, it's a bit of a munchkin, but here's a Paladin I played for one session, then abandoned because I couldn't die.

Paladin 2/Monk 2/Sorcerer 4/Abjurant Champion 5/Spell Sword 1/Elridtch Knight Rest

This is by no means even optimized. Here is what you get, if you take the right feats:

BAB: 17
Sorc CL: 20
Sorc Spell Level: 15
7th level spells
Monk AC with CHA instead of Wis
CHA to Saves via Divine Grace
CHA to WIS again via Force of Personality
Abjurant Champion goodies
All abjuration spells extended Free
All abjration spells 3rd or under swifted Free
AC: 54 = 10 + 9(dex) + 12(cha) + 1(monk) + 5(protection) + 9(shield spell) + 8(bracer of armor)
