Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik looks about, and quickly re-equips himself and partakes in some of the food.

"A most puzzling series of events, to be sure. Surely some powerful bit of thaumaturgy caused our bizarre retranslocation. And either we've been reposing for a considerable duration, or we have experienced some form of alternative temporality. I will have to carefully document this chronastic phenomenon."

Reequiping as well, Should we chcek and see if anything useful is in Uriel's chest?

I believe I could make use of the Gith Plate and the Iron Armbands, I do not do alot of charging, but Malick may be able to put some mileage into the charging stuff.

"Make sure alcohol is involved, that's all I ask."

Malick could probably use the charge stuff. The plate is no good to him as he's not proficient and needs to use feats in other places, and the fullblade is also useless, but the boots, badge and helm all work. We should definitely take the battle standard as well. I'll take a look in CB and see what he's got that it's sensible to replace with anything of Uriel's. If that makes sense.

Yeah the fullblade can be money and or make magic item fodder as far as I am concerned.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

I think, on reflection, that Malick will just take the Badge of the Berserker. Charging hasn't really been his theme, but it would be more useful to him than the rest of the kit.

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

"Alas, poor Uriel. I knew him well, Malick." Ferdinand looks over the bones in mourning for a moment before realizing he no longer had his gear.

"At least someone took care of our gear while we were out. Of course, who knows where they got the orb and skull from." Ferdinand takes a small carving knife from his gear and begins giving himself a rough shave and a haircut.

Leveling up now. Missed a feat the first time around and consolidated my Expertise feats into one Versatile Expertise, so I got a few more feats than before. Among other things, switched Flaming Weapons for Positive Energy Infusion.

Also, I'll take the fullblade, boots and helm and turn them into something useful if no one else wants them.

If I end up taking the plate armor I will donate mine to the make something useful fund.

Yep I took the Gith plate you can have my Dwarven Plate Armor +3

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Add Malick's +3 amulet of protection to the mix as well since he's taking the Badge.

Still levelling. There are some nice Malick-flavoured feats, and I need to choose another power. Haven't used Wild Runner Strike once, so out it goes.

Everybody ready?

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Nope. But will be later tonight. Hectic day today.

Sorry meant to post Ragna is good to go

Typhus is rockin' the 13th level, yo. Word.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

I should have Rennik up to 13 over the weekend, but we can push on in the meantime, I think.

Are you guys doing anything moor before moving out.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick's taking the skull on a stick. He's got a fondness for it. I imagine that Ferdinand is going to be reluctant to let anyone else carry that socking enormous shard he's been salivating over.

"Rennick, cast an eye over my buddy here, will you? I'd like to know a little more about him. Or her."

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

Yeah, I'm taking the giant dragonshard that might have something in it, and also casting Disenchant Magic Item on the Dwarven Plate Armor +3, Boots of Adept Charging, my +1(I think) Cloak of Resistance and Horned Helm. (How much Residuum would I get from all those anyway? 1/5 of each's cost, but how much is that?) I'm just taking Malick's +3 Cloak for my own.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Amulet, not cloak, but same difference.

Malick updated in profile.

Malick:
When you pick up the Skull staff a voice speaks in your head.
Captain Malick we are joined. As long as our goals are similar I shall assist you but if you stray you shall be punished. Keep my presence secret for your own safety.

Ferdinand:
A vision thrusts into your mind of yourself manipulating the table and flipping hidden switches, the vision blurs and reforms but now you are sitting at the bow of an air-skiff flying over the Talenta plains.

look at the compendium to find the value of the the stuff you're breaking down to residuum.

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

Rennik is levelled. You mentioned our wounds are healed - does this count as an extended rest? (Presumably we've been sleeping for an awfully long time.)

Also, I updated Rennik to comply with errata :( Two of his feats no longer stack, so I replaced Implement Expertise with Unarmored Agility (attack bonus is now 1 lower, but AC is 2 higher, so it's not such a bad trade).

Yes you are very well rested.

Yeah, I was just being lazy. 3136 units of residuum.

Ferdinand looks at his surroundings, more annoyed at the apparent teleportation than confused at this point. "I swear, this better be a damn hallucination."

So, mind telling the rest of the party if I disappeared? Since you didn't mention it, I assume I'm still on/think I'm on an airship?

Oops, I omited the last sentiance.

Ferdinand:
The Vision ends you stand where you were and no time has passed.

** spoiler omitted **

Yeah, that would of been nice to know. Ignore my last post, folks.

"That's odd. No reason not to check." Ferdinand begins inspecting the table for any hidden switches or the like.

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14

Looking you can't see anything odd or out of place but give me a thievery check.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Malick's eyebrow quirks.

"Thanks, that's made the day perfect already," he mutters.

@Xabulba

Spoiler:
Can Malick commune telepathically with skull boy?

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15 - inc thieves tools bonus

Malick drops a set of lockpicks on his own feet.

Ferdinand: With the help from Malick's tools you fumble around a bit before you manage to open a slat that is hiding a leaver. After flipping the leaver a slight rumble comes from the passageway as a hidden door grates open revealing a small secondary passageway branching off of the first.

Malick:
Yes.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Interesting."

Picking up the remains of Uriel's last wine flask and his ID papers.

"Call me sentimental, but I'm taking a memento. Give me a moment."

Malick turns to the skull and stares hard at it.

"Right, sweetheart. Time to chat." His expression goes intent.

Spoiler:
"So, who are you, what are your aims and - by the way - keeping your presence secret, whoever you are, is going to be mighty tricky if I have to shut up to talk to you. These guys know me. I don't do that."

Has he got the remotest idea who or what he's talking too?

Malick:
I am all that remains of the man you kidnapped during the war, High-Inquisitor Jassolen. Your commander slew my body and bound my soul to my bones and forced me to aid her attempt to bind the warforged to her will.
If I am revealed to the world my enemies would capture my present form and corrupt my power to spread evil across the land.
For now our goals are the same, preventing your mad commander from releasing the lords of Xoriat from their prisons and laying waste to what is left of Khorvaire.
Speak to me only when needed most as it taxes my strength.
For now I grant you my a portion of my power to heal and my knowledge
of creatures great and small.

Skulls powers:
Lay on hands as a paladin 1/day
Can answer one question about enemy abilities/powers per day

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Ragna's not going to like this."

Spoiler:
"That's useful and thank you. One thing - I'm telling Oddjob about you. We're on the same mission and this is need to know information. You OK with travelling in my pack?"

Malick:
"She couldn't protect me before, I doubt she could do better now."
The spine coils up under the skull for making it easier for you to stow in your pack.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Right ..."

Malick stashes the skull carefully in his pack.

"High Inquisitor Jassolen will be traveling with us and that is classified information. We can call off that visit we planned to make to him and get right on with hunting down Blondie. Her debt just got a little larger by the way. Could have been me on a stick. Could have been any of us. She's got a nasty way with her, hasn't she?"

"That simplifies things, at least. So, is he any saner now that he's dead?"

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Snippier than I remember, but we didn't meet him at his best."

"I cannot say I am happy to hear about this, but at least we can find out what is going on."

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Didn't think it would thrill you, sweetheart, so just add it to the tally for future repayment. According to your ex-boss, Blondie is trying to unleash the lords of Xoriat. Then she's going to use them to lay waste to anything that's left of Korvaire. Let's spoil the party for her. Unless anyone has other plans?"

Male Gnome Illusionist Wizard 13

"Egads! Such a catastrophe would be catastrophic!"

As you head out which way do you go? Do you follow the main passage or the smaller passage that Ferdinand Revealed?

Human Artificer/Battle Engineer 11

"You don't make a secret passage for no reason. Let's see what's behind it."

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"Exactly."

I'm in the process of moving and starting a new job so posting might be spotty for a while.

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

Good luck with both those things.

After following the narrow passageway up through a series of twist and turns you come to a disguised door. The door opens into a hollow in the bone heap near where you first entered the yaun-ti's lair.

A small air skiff floats in the hollow. The skiff is being loaded by a small group of Valanar elves.
The work is being over seen by a very well dressed half-elf wearing the latest in Lyrandar fashion. Another half-elf stands behind the command wheel.
The Skiff is flying the Lyrandar flag.

MAP

Mahogany oval = Air Skiff
Tan squares = Crates
Brown shapes = boulders & finger rocks

It takes 2 moves to onto a crate
Moving through the boulders reduces movement to 2 squares

Typhus smiles.

"At last, family!" He walks boldly from the tunnel and into the line of sight of the Half-elf in command.

"Ho, cousin! What news of home?"

male human Resourceful Warlord/Commando Captain 13

"He has family? Who knew..."
