Couple of Quick Announcements

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Paizo Employee Director of Games

Hey there all,

I just have a couple of quick announcements before I get rolling here today.

1. GenCon was truly fantastic. I want to give some thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth to pick up a copy, grab an autograph or two (or a dozen), and were generally a great bunch of folks. You guys made for a great show, one that will go down as one of the best in Paizo history I am sure.

2. I am going to be heavily on the boards for a while answering questions and resolving issues. This is going to take me a while, so be patient if I do not get to your thread or question right away.

3. There will be a blog post tomorrow (hopefully) giving some detail to the new classes that will appear in the Advanced Player's Guide. We are really excited about these additions to the game and I am pretty sure that you will be too once we have had a chance to explore the concepts with you.

4. It has finally been confirmed and announced that I will be attending GenCon Australia next month in Brisbane. Although my schedule at the con is not yet fully worked out, I hope to announce some additional details soon. It is going to be a blast.

That is all for now...

Yeah, I'm waiting for Gen Con New Jersey

I think it would be cool if they had GenCon in my neck of the woods. Maybe Milwaukee? Oh shucks that'll never happen!

Don't say that! It is a nice place but chock full of Australians, I am afraid :-(

I wish it was in Milwaukee. As someone who grew up there, I have a lot of friends and family that still reside in and around town. And I miss the Safe House, Usinger's, Koppas, Kopps, Sprecher, and blue moon ice cream.

Ah well...

Oh my god!!

I'm by no means a frequent poster on these boards, though I do lurk around a fair bit... but this news has just made my day. This is excellent! I never thought that Australia would ever actually get anyone interesting out here. :)

This is going to make my first con trip even cooler. How exciting!

what we need is for Paizo to relocate to a caravan of tour buses for a year and give us Pathfinder: Across America Tour (inc Mexico and Canada)...

Then Coming in Summer 2011 - the European Tour (like all the cool bands do). Asia gets its turn in late 2011 or even early 2012. ...after that? maybe the Google Moon Headquarters will have some office space for rent.

I didn't realize blue moon ice cream was an invention of Milwaukeeans (is that the right term for a resident of Milwaukee?) I love that stuff, though I've come to suspect that it's just green tea ice cream dyed blue for midwesterners.

I am not 100% sure where Blue Moon is from, but it is certainly regional to Wisconsin and some parts of the midwest. It has been around since I was a kid, meaning that it probably predates green tea ice cream.

Yeah, I used to eat it as a kid in the Grand Rapids area of Michigan. Years later, when I tried Green Tea ice cream, I realized how similar they were. That made me wonder if the inventor of blue moon ice cream had started with green tea ice cream, realized that green tea ice cream wouldn't sell in the midwest, and therefore changed the color and marketed it as blue moon.

In any event, it's tasty. The only time I can find it here is when it is mixed in a batch of Superman ice cream.

Edit: FWIW, Wikipedia lends no credence to my speculation whatsoever. I dare not argue with the internet's collective wisdom, so I guess it's just a coincidence. But, it is a regional flavor.

A friend of mine runs Geek Kon (www.geekkon.net) here in madison. Much lower scale but a ton of fun! You guys should run demos or something.

For shame! Russell Crowe isn't Australian.

Sadly I probably can't get over to Brisbane given the time left, but if you're heading through Perth at any stage hit us up and we'll take you out.

With the successful launch of PFRPG there will no doubt be great interest in submitting material for official Pathfinder publication - adventures, rules, fiction, even campaign settings.

Have y'all considered or do you already have a submissions policy and/or editor for new material from the general audience?

Blech... superman ice cream is teh suck. Blue Moon rules! I always loved the play of colors when eating blue moon from the purple cow at the local Meijer (it's in-store ice cream shop).
