Pathfinder Core Rulebook in hand... breaking wrist... cannot hold it...

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Paizo gave Ed and I copies for our August 14th episode of Atomic Array, in which we'll look at the Pathfinder Core Rulebook and preview the coming adventure path, Council of Thieves. We'll also be having daily coverage from Gen Con, including coverage of many games using the Pathfinder RPG rules.

Aside from being staggeringly brilliant, this book is dimensionally MIGHTY! So big and so heavy, in fact, that although I'd like to bring it to the Con to get it signed by the Paizo staff (and contributors), I'm going to have to go ahead and ask ahead of time if this is possible, because that's one less pair of jeans I can fit in my suitcase!

So will everyone at Paizo sign my book, wear my pin, and whisper sweet nothings? I need assurances here!

I'm so very proud of you guys, and this utterly amazing contribution to the gaming world.

So jealous.

But, I wholeheartedly agree: a vast achievement and a fantastic thing they have done for all of us.

Sweet. Can't wait to listen to it.

I hope this doesn't lead to someone destroying their book on Sunday to make it into a pair of pants..

I still wanna see it on the firing range, as was alluded to before.

This I can do. For a limited time anyway. Thanks, Vic!

Leading to a deeper meaning in the punch line, "Euripides dese pants, you menda dese pants."

Awww I could never stay mad at you!

Silver Crusade

Is there a warning label on the side stating that you shouldn't operate the book while intoxicated or place it where it can fall on someone?

Omigosh I'm even greener than usual!

Awesome! Can't wait to hear the episode!

That's only because of the mind domination chip I implanted in your head. Let's hear it for science.

I said let's hear it for science! I wasn't asking! Don't make me push the red button!

There is, and another on the back, cautioning: Excess handling may cause testicular herniation and uncontrollable fits of satisfaction.

What a strange melange that particular sensation must be, eh?

Hulk smash?

You better sign my book too, contributor. :)

I? Smash yon holy tome for which I have tarried so long? Zounds, man! Thy lupine skull is addled far past that which it hath known long and long.

Well it was either that or a Green Man joke, and that one's a deeper reach. Acanthus is a hard leaf off of which to riff.

Paizo Employee Chief Creative Officer, Publisher

I will see to it personally that every staff member at the show has a Sharpie.

We will be signing lots of books. We love that stuff.

Just ask!

Heh. Of course.

Spoiler:

Be glad you don't take your Europe trips with me. Mrs. M always has to wonder what narrow street or alley I got lost on, taking close-ups of architectural foliage.

Hey, Erik, make that your sharpie (and ONLY your sharpie) is a red one.

Excellent. Thanks. :)

Then the book comes with. I'll have myself fitted for a truss.

Paizo Employee Director of Narrative

With my recent back issues, toting around that hefty tome has me concerned as well. Do they give bulk discounts on trusses?

Would Paizo settle if the core rulebook made a pre-existing back condition many times worse? Cuz I'd settle for some kind of life-time prescript- er, subscription to everything...

Sovereign Court

Damn, I'm jealous. I look forward to the podcast!

Scarab Sages

Does this mean we'll be seeing Pathfinder RPG branded back braces? If so, will they qualify for the Pathfinder Advantage discount?

You can't say back issues on a publishing site and have people immediately understand what you're talking about. ;) Bulk discounts on trusses? Dunno, but I was hoping for a discount on a bulk truss myself.

Bring your own Sharpie, Daigle sir, for you are signing my book as well, contributor.

I've always liked the way you think.

Callous Jack wrote:

Thanks, CJ. A non gamer walked into the room yesterday and stopped talking in the middle of a sentence long enough to look at the Core Rulebook on a table. She said, "Wow. That's one hell of a book. What is that?"
