Just wanted to let you guys know that last Tuesday (My timezone) I was one of the judges in a local beauty pageant. Suffice it to say, the contestants were very hawt! At least for my taste. Hence, I am only updating the IC today.

I would love to play in a Dark Heresy game. I have all the books, and read and played in the 40k universe since just before 2nd Ed came out. So just let me know when Rad.

Dark Heresy sounds great to me. Either as a player or GM.
I'd be willing to take it on if you wanted to take turn at playing Rad. I don't have any games currently running and for a change have the time to devote to something like that.
As I said though, I'd be very interested in playing PBP if you preferred to run it.

Well, I just wanted to make sure I exercised the proper etiquette since you brought it up Rad. I truly, honestly would be just as happy to play. The GM blood runs thick in me though, and it is hard to shake the opportunity to run a great game like Dark Heresy.
I will be putting something together in short order, and will link the recruitment post when it is ready to go.
Just some background: I have been DM'ing/GM'ing for pretty much twenty-five or so of my thirty-four years and have been the de facto GM for my play group for most of that time. I enjoy the rare opportunity to play, but that has been mostly PbP for the last few years. With much of my gaming group being in hiatus or changing geographic locales recently, I will be dedicating a lot of time to any game I run, so everyone joining in will surely enjoy it, as it will be the focus of my attentions.
I have a particularly devious notion for a Dark Heresy game though, and have been dying to spring it on some unsuspecting group of acolytes since I bought the books.
Of course I'll be holding open slots for the members of this group for the game, and ideally would like 4-5 players with 1-2 alternates as character mortality will likely come into play at some point.
So if anyone would like to be part of it in addition to Rad and Balfic-Graa just give a shout in this thread.
Now to see about poor Vulpert and the green-gas glass orb...Yipe!
So I just realized that I have been so caught up in reading everyone's posts with our latest encounter, that I hadn't posted any myself. I can't believe I let myself become a spectator! Its a helluva game. Mdae my actions though, so now I can say I at least did my part.
I agree it is an excellent game. Really enjoying my character.

Once your ready to start your game. I think Rad should have first pick on making his character since he is already GMing this game. The rest of us can fill in after.
I think everyone is waiting to find out what Rookseye is going to want to do, what classes and limitations will be on the characters. Also, what books will be allowed.

Just an update on the Dark Heresy game. The recruitment post will be up by this weekend (my apologies for the delay as I have been preoccupied the last couple of days with purchasing a new vehicle).
That said, I am allowing options from every book, as the only DH book that I do not own is Purge the Unclean (and that, to my knowledge is mainly adventures).
Characters with role-play/skill heavy tendencies will have as much place in this campaign as those with more martial backgrounds. I believe in striking a good balance. There will be plenty of intrigue as well as enough violence to keep any sadistic ex-Guardsman happy, so go with whatever your hearts wish for character concepts. The campaign as I envision it can be easily balanced out enough even if we end up skewed to one extreme in archetypes or the other. Similar to Rad's WFRP game, characters will begin as starting characters as written in the DH core rulebook.
Three previews tidbits you can consider for character creation:
1. As acolytes, your patron inquisitor is Daemonhunter Ahmazzi, of the Ordo Malleus and Tyrantine Cabal as written in the DH core rulebook. Old, pessimistic, cynical and a rumored to have Radical leanings, he is far more that just the write-up in the book, however.
2. The campaign will be focused on a long-term mission to a single, isolated world known as Oremor in the Malfian Subsector. Although my creation, Oremor is positioned in the grid just below the "S" in the word "Sector" in the Malfian Sub-Sector on the two-page map (p. 288) in the DH core rulebook, spinward of Dusk. Characters can opt to be from this world and recent recruits to the Inquisition. It predominantly would be considered a hive world, but also has a continent sized penal colony given over to agriculture that is worked by prisoner labor.
More to come on this world and its background.
3. There will be a campaign wiki we will utilize as the story progresses that will consolidate NPC information, details on Oremor and the investigations thus far for ease of reference.
My hope is to get the recruitment thread completed by Saturday evening, before midnight EDT. I will cross-post the information to this thread so that we can stop clogging up the WFRP games OOC. Thanks for the opportunity Rad, and I agree with Balfic, feel free to have first pick on character as a thanks for running a great game for us.
I am thinking of playing a sanctioned psyker with a dark past. (i.e. A Shadow over Thy Soul)
I actually played WHO for awhile. Was great til you got to the endgame. Public Quests and Scenarios were a blast. Though some class abilities were horribly broken.
I played WHO also; tried each side and many classes; was a bit repetative for me; liked the pvp scenarios; but seems one side usually gets punked; still, enjoyable but not enough to keep my account open.
I would enjoy playing the mind cleanzed cleric in the Dark Heresy game; hehe keep Lorms toon in line for the God Emperor.
