As I pointed out on the other thread, I am a Richard Cypher fan (Legends of the Seeker/TV).
In literature, probably Tylendel [Last Herald Mage series by Mercedes Lackey], not to mention Rand Al'Thor [Wheel of Time] (Obnoxious? Yes. Hot? Probably.)

I used to watch the BeastMaster . Now it's over, I'd say Dan Goddard made a good move going into soaps - lots more women to drool over him daily that way! (it was a pretty lame series, on the whole, but hot is hot)

Yow! That Craig Horner pic is delicious! I've only seen one episode of "The Seeker," but I may have to TiVo it now. I don't see why it's "mild sexism" though. Sure, 90% of men can't achieve that look, but most women can't look like what's on TV either.
The OP just copied the thread title that was used for hottest females and added the word "male".

This is considerably more difficult for male figures than female ones. However, some of my favorites are:
Harrison Fords (as Indiana Jones or Han Solo)
Tyr Anasazi
More upcoming as I think about them. What a lovely topic to think about. Yummy.

Captain Reynolds!!
Seconding Mr. Reynolds.
How about "Apollo" Adama or John Crichton?

If I had to put in order of preference... I would say Captain Reynolds then Apollo :')

As I said in the other thread, I'll probably have to vote Squall as the smexiest video game character out there from Final Fantasy 8. Cloud and Sephiroth ain't bad but Squall just looked way better in my opinion.
If you like a Man's Man type of thing, then Guts from Berserk I could see as well as Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).
I will also have to give props to Seltyiel, the Eldricht Knight iconic. If Seoni is the bombshell for the male side (though I personally like both Lini and Merisiel though they are both a bit thin for my taste) then I would have to say Seltyiel is likely the hunkiest for the guy lovers. At least my wife thinks he looks the best out of the guys and I'd have to agree with her.

The character is an alien from the future and lived in Cardiff for a few hundred years, too British. Admittedly he is much more aggressive than your typical Brit hero but he's no Kirk.

Yeah, but it's strange as anything when he gets with his family and gets his brogue on...
Cap'n Jack's hot by charisma, Tyr is hot by physicality and just sheer awesomeness.
Though since we mentioned DT in the other thread, I have to include Ulyssies Paxton.

Chief Tyrol in Battlestar Galactica (esp, the episode after his wife died, when for no apparent reason, he suddenly shaved his head)
Rhys in Torchwood (mmmmmmmmmmm,, Rhys)
random Torchwood Trivia by the way: John Barrowman was the 2nd Choice to play Will in "Will and Grace". He was turned down for "not being gay enough"

Technically he's a human from the 51stt century, who has been infused with energy from the heart of the tardis via Rose......That said, at the point of torchwood, he has spent most of his life in Cardiff. Although 2000 years of that was buried beneath it :)

Hugh Jackman is Wolverine! I was at the doctor's office the other day, and saw him on the cover of Entertainment Weekly. I didn't even open the magazine - I just stared at the cover until the doctor came in. Ooh, those biceps!
Agreed. He makes all other men look bad (he ruined me for my wife T_T )
I also wanted to add Dante from the Devil May Cry series (though not 2)

Oh yes, The decided a (VERY OPENLY) gay actor wasn't gay enough, so hired a straight one insted
I actually wonder if that was the truth - TV executives in the US were happy to have a str8 guy play a gay character, so people knew "he was just pretending", whereas having an out-and-proud actor, living with his husband (They got married a few years ago, the wedding was in "Hello", and their dogs were the best men), would make it "too real" for middle-america?

*shrug* Depends, is it an issue that the mysoginist sports announcer who flirted with anything that wore a skirt on Frasier was played by an openly gay actor?

It shouldn't be.
But, sadly, given the level of homophobia found in many parts of the United States ... I suspect that it is.

Again, playing "against type" makes it less real, and less threatening to people
just thinking out loud really

I am aware.
EDIT:
Though as a side note, I could go into a conversation of how I don't consider the word used in that fashion homophobic but that's a conversation for another time more likely than not. Intent is the key.

I would suggest Alexander Skarsgard as a qualifying contender.
I certainly would have no objection to someone waving a magic wand to make me look like him .
Forget car-jackers, he probably has nekkid women jumping in his car at intersections.

Hells bells, that man is hot. There are some scenes from the sookie stackhouse books that I reallllllly hope they put in the TV show.
By the way, do you know where his car is?
