First, any idea when the PDF/HC deal will be offered? If its going to be offered?
Second, I am going to Gen Con. So if I pre order, is there any way I can pick up the book at GenCon rather than have it shipped to me? This is because I would LOVE to get some signatures while I am at Gen Con.
I know I could just buy the book at GenCon, but I want the PDF if offered.
Plus, are you going to have any Gen Con exclusive release like you did the last time I was there in 2006?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I figured this is a customer service type of question.

Seems like an appropriate forum. I don't speak for Paizo by any stretch, but I think the general thought is that the RPG subscription (with the PDF) will be announced/available when they announce the next book(s) in the line after the Bestiary.
And that has been hinted to be at PaizoCon, next weekend (12th-14th). So my *guess* is that it'll be up by June 15.

Vic and James have also said there will be SOME way to get a free PDF even if it That way doesn't end up being a subscription.
last i head they couldn't hold orders to be picked up. Last year the Beta sold out by 10AM friday, can you imagine how much business they are going to have this year? You don't want one book with your name on it to get lost in the shuffle and accidentally sold

Treebore - do you know anyone else who plans to buy the RPG book, but not get a subscription? You could buy at Gen Con and sell your subscription one to them.

preorders, superscribers who buy the rules book, subscribers to X that buy the rulebook...Combination of those... I'm sure there are more options.

There are other options, but almost none which I like:
Preorder: Well, that might work.
Superscribers: I won't be forced to subscribe to modules I don't need to get something I expect from a PF Subscription.
Actually, this one would seriously piss me off. I'm not a PF Modules subscriber because my interest started after the line took off and they never offered a latecomer's offer like they did with Planet Stories (which made me subscribe to Planet Stories).
That one would be a really big mistake.
So let's hope they stick to a rules subscription.

Last year the Beta sold out by 10AM friday, can you imagine how much business they are going to have this year?
My DM, his wife and I were there last year... He wanted a Beta hard-copy, had I not urged him to find Paizo's booth and "FIND IT NOW!" he would've been without. (Due to Cheese Weaseling and other such booth activities) He was happy for the suggestion, though still disappointed he could not find Jason B. to autograph it. I also believe the Friday batch was a smaller resupply, they had sold out on Thursday as well if I remember correctly.
Long story short, when the doors to the Exhibition Hall open day one, "FIND PAIZO'S BOOTH!" if you want a GenCon purchased book.
The big purple Paizo Golem banners hanging above it provide a +10 Perception (visual). Not to mention the longest lines (using 3 cash registers) I saw at GenCon 4 days straight other than McDonalds and Subway.

Along with the new cards and maps subscription, it has to be an invisible, but as yet unveiled RPG subscription.

No, I don't. I am the only gamer I know of within 50 miles. If it weren't for online gaming I would only be gaming with my wife and kids.

I don't care about subscriptions - I just want the damn book! Whether I buy it at Gen Con (which I doubt) or order it online, I just want the book. They are planning to make plenty of copies this time around...right?
They are planning on having around 10 times as many of the final PR RPG books as they did of the PF Beta. IMHO, I have a feeling that they might still need more.

They'll have 10 times as many *at* GenCon. No telling exactly how many they will print, whether a greater or smaller number (than 10 times as many).
In any case, I'm sure there will be plenty. And this is something they *can* reprint if demand is exponentially higher - the Beta would just have taken too long for the limited time it would be on-sale/useful.

The hardcover book will go on sale (release) at GenCon on August 13th, right?
Arrgh must build time machine to take me to the 13th of August so I can buy PRPG.....

Or I can try incessant nagging
Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now,Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now, Can I have one now.

Or... it's the "Preview Edition" for distributors. Either way, subscription is coming!

Me for one. If I preorder then subscribe I have to go through checkout twice. I'm too lazy to do that if I don't have to. ;-)

So the day of the release at GenCon will indeed be August 13th, right?
Correct. We will release it at GenCon and at game stores on the same day. Barring some sort of unforseen circumstances, this should come to pass. Our printer tells us that we are even a few days early! Cross your fingers!

The Beta was a one-time thing. It kinda has an expiration date - once the final book is there, the beta won't be needed or supported.
The core book will be the basis for most of Paizo's products for several years - how long exactly they haven't said, maybe they don't even know yet, exactly.
So it's in their best interest to keep that one available.

Please help us confirm that feeling. :)
If shipping rates to Europe would not be that high (no fault of Paizo) I, as well as my friend would gladly have ordered directly from Paizo. Unfortunately the shipping cost is almost exactly the same as the book itself. Even ordering 3 or 4, the cost for the shipment is in no relation to the price of the book itself (cost for shipping being 2 bucks below the price of the book itself).
We kindly ask your understanding that (in this case) we, as well as othes, rather opt for ordering the book with Amazon (free shipment) or any local Gaming store (shipment being something around 5$ for a total weight of up to 20lbs (at least in Germany)).
Again, we understand that the cost for shipping is figured by the shipping company, not by Paizo.
We do hope that you folks at Paizo will find some comfort in knowing that we are ordering the PF-RPG, even though it will not be directly from Paizo themselves. We are sure that you folks will forgive us that tiny bit of selfishness. (please just ensure that retailers like Amazon (Europe and other Countries) and our local stores receive their shares of the book on time (Perfect would be the same time as do shops in the US)).
Yours truly, on behalf of all Pathfinder-Fans overseas of the US, (being sure that you will sell lots of the Rules to lots of residentd of any country outside of the US)
