Okay, as you can see in today's blog, I'm in need of a miniature for James's Sandpoint game. (When I get subbed in on picture day as some itchy-looking Scot it's time to take action!) I'm playing Styrian Kindler, a late twenties, unbearded, Ustalavic chronicler and storyteller (aka, bard with Perform [Oration]) with a crossbow and a rapier. I've been looking for a good mini for several days now and it seems like every mini that even comes close is either a chick or has a gun. Sure, I could mod those out, but I'd rather find something that's ready to go as is before I start doing any surgery. So I'm turning to you all. Anyone have any ideas? There might even be a totally arbitrary reward should someone find me the PERFECT mini. Thoughts? Ideas? Links? Thanks for the help!

If pre-painted is okay, this miniature is available right here at the paizo store.
That's actually damn good, but I'm using a pre-paint right now and am shamed weekly for it. Metal would be far preferable.
I can make one for you. :D
Umm... explain!

Whoa. Okay. So that's like 8 different kinds of crazy-awesome. Mad Woman. So I'm going pass on this for my character, largely cause I feel like we could get you working on something for Paizocon. Hummm...

These two lean more towards the Orator portion of your description, but could probably also be moded some with weapons if necessary...
These may or may not be available here at Paizo, where you shop is your business. :)

Here's a crazy and wacky idea... but it's actually possible to paint those pre-painted miniatures yourself. Thoroughly clean them, give them a coat of primer and have away with your own paints.
I know, crazy idea! :-p| Gamer Girrl RPG Superstar 2011 Top 32 |

From Reaper Miniatures, here are a few options :)
Hope it helps :)

I have painted an Alfred Redlute before, the character was similar to that of Guybrush Threepwood(I think that's the name) from Monkey Island games. Ended up giving the mini to the player who used him 3 or 4 times.
That Dub Bullock mini has definite possibilities, being loaded with character just as a sculpt, I always imagine him doing the 'sneer' emote from FABLE(XBox/PC). "MEH!" lol, I really need to pick one of those up eventually.

I have that mini and my lady painted it for me. What's extra cool about that one that's not shown in the pic is that he's holding a big ass knife behind his back.

I'll throw in a mini too:
Fergus the Weaver, Bard
I'd probably go with this one, although Killian that Gamer Girrl posted could work too.

Wow! Lilith is there anything you can't do? You rock!

As a painter of lead, I want to know HOW Sean did that black and white check pattern?! My friends say I'm insane with some of the details I add to figs, but that precision makes my brain spin...
As Wes said, I used Photoshop, but actually painting that sort of thing isn't really that hard--just draw the checkerboard on your mini with a pencil, then paint. I also have a set of .2mm (yes, that's point-two-millimeter) micron pens for detailed work if painting something that small is too difficult.

Ugh. A lot of cool figures and a lot of very near hits, but it seems like every bard either has a huge mandolin or looks like a hero from an Elmore painting or an 80's fantasy cartoon. Lots of "Prince Flopityhair" out there...
*Laughs*Elmore Painting or 80's fantasy cartoon
Yea, I couldn't resist... good times, technically the beginning of D&D for me being as I wasn't old enough to have actually played in the 70's.
But I didn't forget "Dragon Lance", painted primarily by Elmore and the "D&D Cartoon" by Marvel Productions! I just thought the above examples better choices for imagery. :D
