The omniportal flashes to life as Devlyn and Allura return to the Sanctum. Devlyn appears to be a little dust-caked with a few spatters of blood on him, but appears to be otherwise unharmed.

They activate the omniportal and go to the Bazaar of the Bizarre.
High above, in one of the temple's little-used towers, and shining essence waits. Soon another essence arrives and joins the first. Slowly, ecer so slowly, it begins to take the shape of a humanoid. What is strange is the humanoid appears to have wings and is already outfitted with gear.

Surprised at Alaina's intelligence and aptitude, Sunny G. continues to admire her scholastic graces. It seems no harm was done given her last encounter with the Hammer of Death.
With the divinations in place, the Sanctum and its security forces will be able to assess the situation if it should danger and death come forth again.

Sunny G. becomes instantly aware of the foul taint in his sanctum. He flares outward like an angry star. Stepping through one of the Sanctum's portals, he quickly approaches Allura.

"Someone used one of the pieces of Lynora-Jill to make a foul artifact and we need you to destroy it and retrieve and hallow the star inside it. I'm sorry for bringing this to your temple, but you're the only one who can do this. Some dragon thought it would be funny to give this to Arielle."

Clutching the foul star-thing tightly, Sunny G. takes it from Allura and proceeds towards the Sanctum's Vault. He can feel it squirming his hand, trying to free itself. The though of carrying it cause Sunny G. to revel in disgust.
"Follow me, " he says.
Once they enter the vault the move towards an adjacent chamber. From there, he places the star-thing into an adjacent forge and pours his divine might and solar energies into it.
"Abomination, your existence is at an end."
He begins the enchantments need to destroy and purify the metal.
The creation thrashes, utters a psychic scream that would rend the minds of most mortals, and then stops moving, crumbling to ash, leaving only the star behind.

"OOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW................" Devlyn says, clutching his head for a moment. He then blinks, shaking his head. "Well that was fun."
"Well, that was unpleasant. But it's done now. And as soon as the star is cleansed of any dark energies we can give it back to Arielle. What kind of thing could possibly think that it was amusing to give that to a child? Poor kid."

"If that dragon has put competitors in those arena fights, we've got to get somebody in the competition - even if whoever sent the armored nymphs to 'protect' Arielle has some there too (and we need to get confirmation of that)."

Thanking Sunny G for his help, Devlyn and Allura head back through the Omniportal to the Bazaar, and return to the arena. While enroute, he updates the others there via communication crystal:
"Sunny G has destroyed the corrupted stuff attached to the star, and is stoking it in some kind of holy forge to take care of the hallowing. He's going to do some investigation into who specifically did it and why, just in case we need to know. He will send word to us if we're needed for anything else. We're heading back to the arena now, and we need to get somebody into the competition to make sure nobody else gets that star. I don't think we'll be able to buy it off someone else anymore..."
Using extended Earth Glide/Master Earth, JH takes Arielle on a roller coaster ride beneath the earth. He rises close the surface at certain points, lightly brushing the deep roots of the trees and tickling them both. The swim in the wake of the deep worms, and view gems and precious metals unspoiled by the touch of man. Seeing Arielle's fascination with the crytal formations they circle great caverns, viewing them thru the stone in which they remain. By the time they reach the Sanctum they are both smiling.
He looks for Alaina or Sunny G
"Customer pick up at Register 3", he jests, "One recently cleansed star, please."
Arielle giggles.
"This is a nice place. I came here once before when I was looking for shinies. I like it here. Not as much as I like Mommy's temple though. I met a friend here who helped me look for shinies. I wonder what happened to him?"
Allura nods. "Yes, I think we should head back to the arena now."

He hands the star over to JH in a golden silk case inscribed with Sunny G's holy symbol.
"Ha! You're funny. Da boss told me you had a sense of humor. Here you go, but the boss wants you all back here soon. All of you. He's found some interesting stuff and some distrubing revelations about the history of the star including names and locations."
Arielle reaches for the case and opens it, smiling when she does. "Oh, hurray, it's all better!" she says happily. She holds the star close to her, humming along with its song as she does.
"Thank you, and please pass on our thanks to Sunny G."
"Well, little lady. Are you ready to surf the tasty waves of the earth again?"
Assuming yes, they make the return trip to the arena."

Meanwhile, the cyber dragon begins to explore the Sanctum, searching for any who should not be there. It discovers the strange sun-like essence high in the towers. Scanning the essence, the metallic dragon can not find any information on it in its database.
It goes to show Suuny G a hologram to see if he knows what it is.

"Interesting," he says as he looks at the hologrpahic image. "Something has evaded the wards and made a home in the upper towers of the Sanctum."
He looks at the cyberdragon. "Can you make a detailed holomap of our location and the location of this anomaly while ploting the quickest route?"
"Alaina, come see this."
It was a sub-set of Denizens of Leng who are allied to Lamashtu who did the tampering with the star, and they passed it on to a tarnished silver dragon by the name of Aritha, who swallowed the item and grew greatly in power (and the item along with her) during the decades that it inhabited her body. The item lost a good deal of power, when a legendary kingdom razing, empire-shattering, dragon the size of a small town named Daelemos came along and made Aritha an 'offer she couldn't refuse' because he was interested in items with stars. The dragon made no further attempt to interfere with nature of the item, and took it to a lair, warded against magical entry, beneath the Brackenspur Mountains, and didn't interfere with it, before sending it off to the arena at the Bazaar of the Bizarre in the hands of a gnome servant, who presented it to Arielle and her friends.
