Just lettin my fellow gamers know that as of right now I am in Camp Virginia, Kuwait, awaiting a flight on a C 130 to my final destination. Already I miss my wife and daughters :(. But I am excited to get Metal, Magic, and Lore to keep me busy and happy and contented!
Hey bro, take care, watch yourself and think of the time as a good period to self improve. I know when I got back after my 6-month Saudi tour I could bench 315 lbs in a set, something I will never achieve again :).

do you have dice?
Nah. they're a prohibited item here. But Im gonna focus on creating my Metal Magic and Lore campaign setting more than playing anyway so it's alright!
Another update. Im at my final destination to the south of Kuwait, and Im keepin the skies happily scud-free!! A very boring job this is. Air Defense ... GRRRR| Tensor |

You can flip a coin and count in binary.
Heads = 1
Tails = 0
Flip it THREE times:
TTT = 0
TTH = 1
THT = 2
THH = 3
HTT = 4
HTH = 5
HHT = 6
HHH = 7
but, you can just add 1 to each and get a d8! Re-flip 7 & 8 and you have a d6. etc...

Or go to Invisible Castle. Or write numbers on papers and pull from a hat.

Have a great time in Kuwait. If you are lucky enough not to be on patrol alot, keep in touch with USO/Red Cross. When I was in Bosnia they gave out free MtG cards and we had a mini-convention. I doubt WotC will give out free D&D games but maybe you could get support for WWGD or something.
ps I am just assuming Paizo is too small to support the troops like Hasbro.
pss When did dice become prohibited? My wife has mentions alcohol and porn, but why dice?

But, with my method you can flip cigarettes and even bullets. That is much more fun.
If it lands facing AWAY from you = TAILS.

Unless your situation differs greatly from mine (SGT US Army) then you shouldn't have a problem with dice. Our chain of command may frown on gambling but I have had no issue with polys. I have been here for over a year and ordered about 8 7-die sets from paizo last year so each person in my CotCT campaign could have one. I might do something similar for the RotRL game I am about to run.

Im not in Iraq. Im in another country in the Middle East and everything I order has to go through their customs, and they are very very strict. I had to delete pics of my babies in their diapers off my computer cuz it violated their views.

Eskan Village?
Ah. We were not under the same restriction when I was there. Of course, we weren't actively engaging in combat, either.
Anyway, I used to know a guy who worked in a similar location as a civilian.
Good luck!

Eskan! Riyahd representin'!
What are the chances? I was attached to 10th Mountain. They pulled guard rotations for the ADA. Oct '98 - Feb '99.
I also did some work for the F2C2.

All you ADA folk always do. Grass is always greener and all that. See if they stil have 46Qs, that's a sweet gig if you can write a decent sentence ...

Dude, we probably walked right by each other a dozen times. I was the linguist/journalist/chauffer for the TF 2-43 high-ups. If you were there when the SECDEF showed up or at the Hootie and the Blowfish concert at PSAB or when Madeline Albright came strolling thru I was the guy with the camera following them around. If you were there when SMA Hall was giving his pep talk I was the guy he threatened (jokingly) to send to Korea. I was out at Pat site IV all the time driving the muckety mucks about. Always going to PSAB as well.

I was at the Hootie concert. I was friends with the guys in the Eskan village band that did a little opening show before the concert. We got our picture taken with Hootie and the Blowfish.
You probably took the picture.

I went to the Pat site once. I had to pull guard duty in place of one of the 10th Mountain guys who was sick. It was the day they had a real-world SCUD alert because the ADA guys weren't informed about some in-air testing in Iraq and they thought we were getting hit.

Oh yeah, I remember that opening act. Wasn't there some hot chick in that band? 'Bout all I can remember (shows where my mind was then). Yeah I took a load of pictures that day, close to 20 rolls, back in the film days. But Uncle Sam was paying for them, so ...

There actually ended up being two "opening" acts.
One from Eskan, my friends, who played a few hours before the concert; and one from PSAB, a hot chick singing and her boyfriend playing the guitar.
Both took place on a different stage off to the side.

I have a wife and two daughters as well - it would be a tremendous hardship to be away from them for an extended time. Myself, and the rest of the guys at 5th Epoch, really respect and appreciate your service.
Looking forward to seeing your posts letting us know how your campaign is developing.
Thanks again, and stay safe.
Andy.

Thanks for the support everybody! This is why I love the Paizo community and roleplayers in general. I'm in a good crowd here with you fellows ;). I think im pretty well settled in now in my location over here. My wife and two daughters seem to be doing well back home so things are good. I just shipped my oldest daughter her very first d20 (34mm) and her very own dice bag that she had picked out before i even left. She's gonna be so freakin excited. When my buddies and I would game back in the world the sessions usually ended in her crying cuz she didnt have any dice. Now she does!

*Sniff*. That's, like, a Hallmark moment.
Be safe. Come home soon. That's to ALL of you out there. :-)
